Sorry, I haven't updated in a few days. College has been going mental! But, alas, I've no more coursework to do now until April.

Ready to read on?

It was Drama when Troy finally saw Gabriella. She bounced through the doors, excited and like a hyperactive kid, who had discovered the secret sweet stash.

'Hi Hi!' she squealed, throwing her arms round him and hugging him tightly. Troy let out a nervous laugh and hugged her back, glancing at Chad, who seemed amused by Gabriella's actions.

'Hi baby, you okay?' Troy asked, drawing back from the hug. Gabriella nodded wildly and rushed over to greet Chad and the rest of the Wildcats. Troy watched as Taylor looked at him, worried about Gabriella's actions, all he could do was shrug his shoulders.

'Okay, it seems Ms Montez is eager to get going, so lets crack on' stated Ms Darbus. Throughout the class, Gabriella was on high alert, stopping the scene if she heard the slightest noise. Troy and Ryan had to stop Sharpay from wanting to go for her on more that one occasion, as she was getting frustrated and annoyed. Once the class was over, it was the end of the day and Troy finally managed to get Gabriella alone.

'Brie, what was wrong with you?' Troy asked, as she had suddenly let go of the energy she seemed to have, and quickly deflated like a balloon, halfway through the rehearsals. Gabriella frowned and looked at him.

'What do you mean?' she asked. Troy raised an eyebrow at her words.

'Earlier. It was like you had found a secret sweet stash and ate it in one go' Troy told her, making her giggle.

'Don't be silly, Troy. I was just excited!' Gabriella said, zipping up her bag, before heaving it onto her shoulder and turning to face him. Troy raised an eyebrow at her answer.

'You can't Sharpay and Ms Darbus gets on your nerves' Troy said pointedly. Gabriella rolled her eyess.

'I never said I was excited about working the people. I was excited about the project' she said. Troy sighed and spoke before he could speak.

'You know what? I feel like I don't even know you anymore'. Gabriella stiffened and narrowed her eyes.

'What's that supposed to mean?' she asked, her jaw setting. Troy knew he should keep his mouth shut, but he carried on.

'Ever since your friend died, you're spending more time with Jay. Makes me think that something is going on!'

'Excuse me?' Gabriella demanded, her voice low and her hands on her hips.

'Don't play dumb with me! I've hardly seen you since this project started!'

'Oh okay! So the fact that we want a good grade and want to make this project a success doesn't mean anything to you?' Gabriella demanded. Troy opened his mouth to speak, but Gabriella cut him off. 'You know what? Forget it. I'm out of here!' she said, before she stormed past him and out of the auditorium, making Troy sigh and run a hand through his hair...

'... And then he has the decency to accuse me of cheating!' Gabriella vented to Rachel. She had left the auditorium and drove straight round to Jay's, wanting some girl time with Rachel, since Taylor was a date with Chad.

'Ouch. Well, maybe you should put him in his place' Rachel said, as she painted Gabriella's fingernails

'I did! And he still wouldn't believe me!' Gabriella said loudly, throwing her other arm up in the air in frustration.

'Hey, careful, that hand is still drying!' Rachel scolded her, before carrying on. 'Look, talk to him. Admit what happened that you came round-'

'Nothing happened!' Gabriella interupted, making Rachel sigh.

'I saw you both making out, it didn't look like nothing to me... You're still in love with him, aren't you?' Rachel asked, making Gabriella scoff lightly and laugh.

'Why would I be in love with him? I love Troy!' Gabriella said, blowing on her hand as Rachel finished painting her nails. Rachel nodded, but didn't look convinced.

'Sure you do! So, what do you want to do tonight?' Rachel said, quickly changing the subject as she put her nail varnishes away. Gabriella shrugged her shoulders.

'I don't know. I might just go home and work on the project. Its nearly finished, thank god' she said.

'Thought you wanted some girl time?' Rachel asked, making Gabriella sigh.

'I did, but...' she trailed, trying to find to reason

'But?' Rachel repeated, raising an eyebrow, making Gabriella roll her eyes.

'But nothing. I just have to go' she said, as she climbed of the bed and grabbed her bag.

'Oh! Don't go on my account' said Jay, as he swung Rachel's bedroom door open and walked in, shutting door behind him. He hugged his step sister, before turning to Gabriella.

'Where is she going?' he asked Rachel

'Ask her. She was fine before you came in' Rachel replied, looking at Gabriella, who sighed.

'Look I've got to go. My mom wants me home' she lied, before she walked from the room, slamming the door behind her...

Later that night, Gabriella was laid in bed, her mind whirring. She was thinking over the days events, something what Rachel said was sticking out in her mind.

'You're still in love with him, aren't you?'

She didn't love him, but there was something was kept drawing her to him and she didn't like it. She didn't know if it was danger of knowing she could get caught or whether because being with him was making her feel like she was thirteen again. She thought about the events of earlier that day and how good it felt. She shook her head. This was part of why she terrified letting Jay back into her life and then getting paired with him for the project, she knew that one day, there was a small chance, that her past would catch up with her. She had never spoken about her problem to anyone. The only person who knows about her problem was her Mother.

'Why would I be in love with him? I love Troy!'

Troy. Her boyfriend of nearly a year and half. Troy who didn't have a clue about her past. One thing of their relationship was that they told each other everything. Troy had, but she still thought he would judge her, so she lied and told him a made up story about her mothers job always moving them around. She knew she should have, but she thought her life was fine and that nothing was going to rake up the past. She felt her eyes burn with tears and it wasn't long before she was sobbing. She got herself under control and her eyes darkened and she reached for her phone...

'What happened to 'it's a one off'?' Jay asked, as he hear the figure walking towards him. Gabriella came into view, her eyes dark.

'Memories. That I want to forget' she answered. Jay looked at her, before taking a small package out of the inside pocket of his jacket.

'What memories?' he asked

'None of your business' Gabriella said, going for the package. Jay grabbed her arm and pushed her against the wall, holding her against it as she struggled for the package.

'To say it was a one off, it doesn't seem like it' Jay said, taking note of Gabriella's eyes that had gone wild.

'Give me it, Jay!' she shouted. He smirked.

'You know what you've got to do' Jay said. Gabriella shook her head. 'Do you want it?' Jay asked, shaking the package. Gabriella nodded and Jay raised an eyebrow. Gabriella let out a pained sob, before she looked at him.

'Don't make me do it. Just give me it' she whispered. Jay looked at her, shaking his head. Gabriella groaned silently and squeezed her eyes shut, before she opened them and looked at him. She wrapped her arms round his neck and pulled him towards her as their lips met. She allowed him to make out with her for a few seconds, before she pulled away. Jay looked satisfied, before he smirked and handed her the package.

'Enjoy' he whispered, as he let go of the package and watched as she tucked it in her jacket and started to walk away. He rushed after her and grabbed her arm, turning her back round to face him. He cupped her face before he kissed her. Gabriella didn't respond and he pulled away.

'Sleep tight... When you can' he whispered, before he turned and walked away, the darkness of the alleyway swallowing him. Gabriella watched before she looked up at the lamp post and stared at it for a minute, before she turned and headed back home, pulling her coat tightly around her...
