Thank you all the reviews I am so sorry it's been so long since I've updated. I am so sorry. Anyways I'd love to hear some reviews, and I'd also like to say I am writing another story for walking dead. I'm not sure when or if I'll post it yet. Anyways thank you for reading and reviewing. I am happy every one is enjoying the story so far. Enjoy!

"Ouch" Nicole flinched as the woman Carol wiped the wound to roughly.

"Sorry" she sighed before rigging out the rag. The bowl of water turned red from all the blood Carol had wiped from the girl. Sawyer leaned against the wall. Nicole had been on high alert since they arrived at the prison. She refused to allow Hershel to go anywhere near her. Which caught both her and Rick's attention. He had gone into another prison block to attend to something else. She wasn't sure what it was because she didn't ask.

As Carol wrapped the medical tape around Nicole's arm, Sawyer moved away from the wall. She sat down next to Nicole placing her hand on her shoulder. Nicole never took her eyes from the woman who was wrapping the arm. Sawyer looked over the girls form at the scraps and bruises. She wasn't sure where those were from. She didn't know if they were before or after they rescued her.

"You look like you went through hell." Sawyer lightly laughed trying to lighten the mood.

"I did." Nicole said it so casual it scared Sawyer a little. Finally removing her eyes from Carol, she looked up at Sawyer. "What happened after I lost y'all? Did anything happen to Connor?"

"Nothing. We continued to run. I'm not sure what happened to him. Why?" Sawyer asked watching at Nicole fought tears. She sniffled shaking her head before pulling her arm from Carol.

"Thank you, Miss Carol." Nicole whispered before walking out the cell. Sawyer gave Carol a nod before following after Nicole. She followed her into her and Sawyer's cell. She was going through her bag.

"Nicole are you okay?" Sawyer asked slowly stepping in the room. Nicole shook her head not looking up from the bag.

"Let's go back to the farm. I want to go back to the farm." Nicole demanded reaching into her bag and pulling out her journal. She unfolded the map looking over it.

"What?" Sawyer asked shaking her head in confusion. "You want to go back to the farm?"

"Yes. Connor knows where this place is and I'm not safe here. I don't know these people. I can't stay with them." Nicole demanded ripping the map in half. After she ripped it in half she went back to her bag pulling out a change of clothes.

"They're your group, Nic" Sawyer looked at the girl with disbelief.

"Don't call me that!" Nicole snapped turning to look at her. "My name is Nicole! Not Cole, Not Nic, Nicole!"

"What is wrong with you?" Sawyer asked narrowing her eyes at the brunette. Nicole laughed bitterly tossing the jeans to the bed.

"Maybe you should ask what isn't wrong with me." She laughed. Her laugh slowly turned into sobs as she raked her scalp with her fingers. She backed away until her back hit the wall. "I'm ruined. Everything about me is tainted and ruined."

"Nicole what happened after I left?" Sawyer asked watching Nicole break down against the wall. Nicole slip down until she was sitting on the ground. Sawyer didn't know what she was suppose to do. To be honest, it was scaring her. Nicole wrapped her arms around her knees before laying her forehead against her knees. She slowly started rocking back and forth. Sawyer bit her lip stepping closer. She kneeled down slowly placing her hand on Nicole's. Nicole flinched before looking up. "Tell me what happened."

"I can't. We can't stay here, Sawyer. He'll come for me. I'd rather die than go back to him." She whispered tears left streaks down her dirty face. As much as Carol had cleaned her arms her body was still dirty from being in the woods.

"Did Connor tell you anything about these people?" Sawyer sat down on her knees not removing her hand from Nicole. She nodded her head.

"He said I was in love with that man." She paused as if struggling the say the name. "Rick. And I chose to stay here, then he tried to kill me. He said, he said I killed Rick's wife." Nicole whispered. Her hazel eyes were filled with so much sorrow. "Is that true?"

"I don't know" Sawyer answered with a shrug. "You should talk to him about everything." Nicole shook her head before burying her face in her knees once again. Sawyer gave her a squeeze swallowing the lump in her throat. "Yes. He has all the answers. I don't. Everything you want to know lies with him." Sawyer grabbed Nicole under the arm helping her to her feet. "I'll walk you to him. You can ask him everything. Maybe something will trigger your memory." Nicole stared blankly at her. Sawyer eased her away from the wall slowly. "Come on let's get you changed then I'll take you outside."

Nicole slowly nodded her head before pulling her arm away from Sawyer. She changed into some jeans and a old sweater. Sawyer led her outside once she was done. Nicole looked like a caged animal. She would flinch at every noise, and only looked at her feet. Sawyer was thankful nobody was around. She figured they were all still in their cell block.

Rick thought it be a good idea for Nicole to be away from the group for a while until she got use to everything. Also he mentioned something about kids or something. Sawyer wasn't really paying attention. She eased the door open looking around for anyone. She caught sight of Glenn. She called him over. Nicole was behind her. Her arms were wrapped around herself. She seemed nervous.

"Yeah?" Glenn asked once he walked over to the two girls.

"Where's boss man?" Sawyer asked still looking around the yard. Glenn looked at Nicole then turned back to Sawyer.

"You mean Rick?" Sawyer rolled her eyes before nodding her head. "He's in the guard tower. I'll go get him."

"No need I'm going to take Nicole to him." Sawyer instructed grabbing at hold of Nicole's arm.

"You aren't suppose to leave the cellblock. Didn't Rick tell you that? I'll go get him." Glenn suggested before turning and walking towards the yard. Sawyer sighed closing the door back. Nicole looked at her confused.

"Why aren't we allowed to leave the cell block?" She asked sounding so much like a scared child. "Are we prisoners or something?" Sawyer snorted placing her hand on her hip.

"They wish. No something about not wanting to many people jumping down your throat or what ever. They want you to warm up to them before they expose you to the group. It's nothing to worry about." Sawyer smiled placing her hand on Sawyer's shoulder. Nicole nodded letting out a shaking breath.

She wasn't sure what to think about this whole situation. She should be happy that she had found the man but for some reason she felt like a burden. Connor was so hateful to her for loving another man. She could only imagine what kind of man could make her love them more than Connor. She was a little frightened about meeting him. What if he wasn't like she hoped? What if he was angry at her for not remembering him? She didn't know what to do. She did want answers. Why had she left? What happened to her shoulder? How long was she here? Did she really do that awful thing Connor said she did?

Looking down at her hands, she ran her finger over the ring on her thumb. She would give this back. It was his after all.

She looked up when the door reopened. Taking a deep breath, she tried to calm her nerves. Rick stepped inside holding the strap to the gun on his shoulder. His eyes darted to her before going to Sawyer.

"You wanted to see me?" He asked shifting the gun on his shoulder. Nicole stepped up licking her dried lips.

"Actually" She cleared her throat wanting to clear her hoarse voice. He looked over at her surprise. A picture flashed through her mind. "I wanted to speak with you." Sawyer nodded in agreement opening the door.

"I'll just be out doing something." Sawyer announced before walking out. Rick scratched the back on his neck watching the door close. He sighed turning back to Nicole. She bit her lip nervously holding her hands together in front of her.

"If you aren't busy." She whispered looking down.

"No I'm not. Let's just go back to your ce-"

"No" She said to quickly. She looked around before sighing. "I'd rather not talk there um I'm scared of small spaces." She lied rubbing her arm once again. He raised his eyebrow at her.

"No your not." She snapped her head up. Her eyebrows creased in confusion before shooting up. Right he knew her. She bit her lip shifting on her feet.

"I forgot you knew me for a second there. The truth is I'm not comfortable being alone with you" She revealed causing the man to look at her sadly. She cursed herself before letting a sigh. "I mean I-"

"It's alright no need to explain." he whispered then cleared his throat. He crossed his arms over his chest before nodding his head. "What was it you wanted to talk to me about?" She took a deep breath. She had been doing that a lot. Wanting to calm her nerves. But it didn't work. She had to fight to keep herself from shaking.

"I wanted to know what you know about me." She realized how weird that sounded so she rephrased it. "I mean I wanted to know some things. I'd like to ask you some questions." He nodded for her to continue. She searched her mind for the first question. "Did- Were we together? Connor said something about me loving you and I wanted to know if that was true." She shifted on her feet again. She could tell he was taken back why the question. "If you don't want to answer I can ask something else."

"No it's fine. Um, well it's hard to explain. We really didn't have enough time to confirm what we were or weren't. We cared about each other a lot." He explained. She accepted the answer with a little smile. So he hadn't been lying about that.

"Oh before I forget, I have something of yours." Nicole whispered pulling the ring from her thumb. She held it out towards him. He slowly took it from her hand then held it up to look at it. "I found it. It was in my bag when I woke up."

"Thank you" Instead of putting it back on her slipped it into his pocket. She frowned a little. Her fingers picked at the fabric of her sweater.

"If you don't mind, I'd like to know what happened to your wife. Connor said I was to blame for her death." She pulled a string out of her sweater before looking back up at him.

"She died during child birth, it wasn't your doing. He lied." Rick explained crossing his arms once again. She nodded tucking a piece of hair behind her ear.

"Why did I leave?" He closed his eyes. She watched his from tense and his jaw tightened. She frowned. So it was something serious. "If you don't-"

"I don't know." He whispered slowly opening his eyes at her. He stepped closer to her. She froze not sure if she should take a step back or forward. His eyes searched hers and she couldn't look away. So many emotions were in his eyes at the moment. She found it hard to pinpoint what he was feeling at that moment. Her heart pounded against her chest and her palms were so sweaty. She wasn't sure why she was reacting like this. Her breathe hitched when his hand raised. She clenched her eyes closed waiting. She relaxed when she felt him brush her cheek. She opened her eyes in confusion. He stepped away sadly smiling at her. "Sorry I just had to make sure you were real." With that he turned and walked out the door.

She raised her hand up to her cheek. Her fingertips brushed the place his hand just touched. She was sure what he just happened. The door opened, and she dropped her hand.

"So did you find out what you needed?" Sawyer asked looking over Nicole. Nicole shook her head clearing her thoughts before turning her attention to Sawyer.

"Not really. I kind of choked." Nicole shrugged. Sawyer frowned before wrapped her arm around Sawyer's shoulder.

"Oh well. We got time, right? I have to go back to the farm to get your things but after that I'm going to be staying here with you. I'm going to get Grams and we are moving here. Rick said it was the safest bet plus I can't leave you." Sawyer smiled as she walked Nicole back to her cell. Once they arrived Nicole went straight to her bag pulling out her journal. She took her pen and began writing in new information.

"Still writing in that thing?" Sawyer asked going to her own bag. She started gathering things for her and Nicole to go take a shower. Nicole really needed to wash the grime and blood from her body.

"Yeah every night" Nicole answered causing Sawyer to stop. If she had been writing in it every night, Sawyer could easily find out what happened while she was gone. Maybe she could just black mail Nicole into telling her. Yeah that'd work. Sawyer crossed her arms turning around to face Nicole.

"Okay you got two options. Either you tell me what happened while I was gone or I read your journal." Sawyer demanded causing Nicole to stop writing. She looked up from her journal with a glare.

"Nothing happened." She demanded her knuckles turning white from the grip she had on the pen. Sawyer rolled her eyes.

"Fine then hand me your journal." Sawyer held out her hand. Nicole slammed the book closed tucking it behind her.

"No"

"Give it!" Sawyer said reaching for it again.

"Why do you want to know? It's nothing important." Nicole demanded pushing at Sawyer.

"Then you won't mind me reading the damn thing." Sawyer suggested pushing back.

"Fine!" Nicole yelled pushing the journal into Sawyer's hands. She pulled her knees to her chest before wrapping her arms around them. Sawyer sighed stepping back. She flipped through finding the place where she left. Stopping she began to read.

I feel like I'm going crazy. Numb. Like I've lost myself. Is this how women feel after things like that happened? So dirty, tainted, ruined? I've scrubbed my skin until it was red but it does no good. I can still feel every breath every touch. I can hear every word he hissed in my ear. It's disgusting. Why did this happen to me? Does he truly hate me that much?

Sawyer looked up from the journal frowning. Nicole was crying again her eyes closed. She was whispering something to herself. Sawyer closed the book softly listening to the words.

"It's over. I'm no longer there. I'm with Sawyer, and she won't let anything happen to me. I'm safe. I'm safe. He can't touch me anymore." She whispered between sobs. Sawyer placed the book on the top bunk before sitting down. She placed her back against the wall before pulling Nicole into a hug. She wrapped her arms around the girl gently rubbing her back.

"Shh" She whispered running her fingers through her hair. "It's going to be okay. What did Connor do?"

"I wouldn't do it Sawyer. I didn't want it. I fought, I did, but it didn't work. He overpowered me." Nicole whimpered wrapped her arms around Sawyer's waist. Sawyer closed her eyes when she realized what Nicole meant. She now understood why she flinched when a man tried to touch her. Why she wouldn't allow Hershel to touch her and wanted Carol instead. Her teeth felt like they were about to break from the pressure. She would kill him.

"It's okay. You're safe now. I won't let anything happen to you." Sawyer whispered.

After about twenty minutes, Nicole finally stopped crying. She was sitting on the floor folding the clothes from both their bags. Sawyer sat on the bed telling Nicole the names of everyone she had met in the group. She tried her best to explain them they best she could. She hadn't really been around any of them that much.

"So Maggie and Glenn are engaged?" Nicole asked folding a pair of jeans.

"Yeah" Sawyer answered laying on the bed. Her hands were behind her head and her legs crossed. She was staring at the bottom of the top bunk.

"Beth and Maggie are Hershel's daughters?" Nicole asked pulling a t-shirt from Sawyer's bag.

"Yep" Sawyer sighed.

"I wonder where my dad is. Connor really didn't say anything about it. I hope he's alright" Nicole mumbled folded the t-shirt and adding it to the pile.

"I'm sure he is." Sawyer yawned stretching her arms before putting them behind her head once again.

"Rick's a dad. Have you met his kids?" Nicole asked running her fingers down the cloth of the towel she had.

"All three of them." Sawyer looked at Nicole from the corner of her eye. The brunette had her back to the girl. So she couldn't read her emotions.

"What are their names?" Nicole asked folding the towel.

"The boy is Carl, the girl I think is Annie, and there's the baby girl, Lane." Sawyer explained turning back to the top bunk.

"He's lucky to have been able to save them all." Nicole weakly smiled though Sawyer couldn't see her.

"Actually Beth told me Annie really isn't his. And you saved Lane." Nicole looked over her shoulder.

"Really? How did I do that?" Nicole asked her hazel eyes sparkly with something.

"Well I don't know the whole story. Beth said you were with Lori, Rick's wife, when she went into labor and Lori begged you to cut the baby out of her. And you did." Sawyer shrugged watching Nicole from the corner of her eye. Nicole gave her nod before turning back to her task.

"And Annie?" Nicole got a picture of a little girl smiling at her. She placed her hand on her forehead before shaking her head of the thought.

"Oh her mother disappeared one night. Rick has been looking after her ever since." Sawyer quirked her eyebrow at Nicole. What the hell was that?

"That's nice of him." Nicole stated folded her last piece of clothing. She picked up the pile before placing them against the wall. She stood to her feet stretching her legs. She frowned at her hands. They were filthy.

"I need a shower." She whispered then wiped her hands on her jeans.

"Well once the sun goes down we can go to the showers. I agree you do need one." Sawyer smirked closing her eyes. It be a nice time for a map. Nicole rolled her eyes before looking around the cell. What was she suppose to do now? She had cleaned up the cell the best she could. She could see why Miss Patty read that book all the time. She was bored. Clicking her tongue she looked around the cell. She kicked her foot out in front of her. Her finger made it's way to her chin tapping it.

"What are you doing?" Sawyer asked with out opening her eyes. She could still hear the girl shuffling around.

"I'm bored I guess."

"Don't hear that to often. Well I have to be on watch in like two hours so go do something but don't leave the block" Sawyer demanded she knew Nicole was rolling her eyes. Nicole huffed walking out of the cell. What was she suppose to do in a cell block? She walked down the hall looking into each empty cell. She ended up in where all the tables were. Not wanting to go any further from Sawyer, Nicole didn't go any further. She looked around her eyes landing on the empty guard room. She climbed the stairs placing her hand on the knob. Finding it locked, she wiped the dusty window trying to look inside.

"I can get the keys if you want" Nicole jumped away from the window almost falling down the stairs. She caught herself looking where the voice came from. She let out a sigh of relief seeing the small boy. He had a cowboy hat on over his medium long hair. Nicole found it odd that a boy would have a gun on his hip. She straightened up before looking back at the door.

"Umm no that's fine. I was just curious." She shrugged turning back to the boy. She walked down the stairs wiping her hand on her jeans. "I'm Nicole." She held out her hand. He gave her a funny look taking her hand and shaking it.

"Carl" he pulled his hand back.

"Oh hey you are Rick's son." Nicole gave him a small smile.

"Yeah so do you want me to get you the keys? I can. I've been practicing my stealth lately. My dad probably wouldn't notice them gone." Carl smirked crossing his arms over his chest. She couldn't help but lightly laugh at the boy.

"No that's alright. I'm sure your dad wouldn't want you doing that." she waved him off before crossing her arms over her chest. She looked around raising her eyebrow at the boy. "So what do you guys do around here for fun? I've been here for a couple hours and I'm dying of boredom."

"Well I'm suppose to be in Carol's class right now. But when we aren't studying, I play with Annie, or Lane." he shrugged stilling looking her up and down. She figured he already knew her by the way her was looking at her. She wasn't sure if it was alright for him to be talking to her. She bit her lip. She didn't want to get into any trouble. "If you are worrying about my dad finding out I'm here don't worry. I know about you, so it's okay. He said it was alright if I came to see you." She let out a sigh of relief before sitting down on the stairs.

"That's good I wouldn't want you getting into any trouble." She sighed, looking around once again.

"I could go get some cards. We can play a game." Carl offered stepping closer to her. She turned to look at him before slowing nodding.

"That be great." He smiled before taking off. Once he returned they sat down at one of the tables. They decided a game of gold-fish would be fun. She looked at her cards raising an eyebrow. "I hope you know I won't be going easy on you Mr. Carl."

"Same goes you for Nicole." he smirked and he was right he didn't go easy. He won the first two games, she barely won the last before Sawyer came walking out the cell. She stopped when she seen the two playing cards.

"The sun is down so we can go take a shower now." Sawyer yawned sitting down on the table. "What are you doing here?" Carl just shrugged as he shuffled the cards.

"He's ditching school." Nicole smiled at the boy.

"Does your dad know that?" Sawyer raised her eyebrow at the young man.

"He does now." They all turned to look at Rick. He was standing in the doorway with his arms crossed. Carl groaned picking up the cards. Nicole gave him a sympathic smile. Carl waved the girls bye before heading back to his cell block. Rick shook his head as the boy passed.

"You can't really blame him, I mean school is boring." Sawyer said stretching her arms over her head. Nicole stood up stretching her arms as well. She felt her back pop.

"I hope he wasn't bothering you" Rick walked over to the girls.

"No. He was very nice" Nicole smiled caused him to smile as well. He gave her a nod before turning to Sawyer.

"Anyways your watch is in an hour. I'd thought I'd remind you." Rick pointed out.

"Yeah I'm just going to have a shower then I can meet you there. Carol's coming to watch Nicole right?" Sawyer asked looking at Nicole now. Nicole frowned crossing her arms over her chest.

"I don't need a babysitter. I'll be fine. I'll just have a shower then go to bed. No need for anyone to watch over me like I'm a child." Nicole watched Rick's lip curl into a smirk from the corner of her eye.

"She isn't going to be watching you. I didn't think you'd want to be alone for six hours. She'll bring you something to eat and fix your bandages." Sawyer placed his hands on her hips. Nicole rolled her eyes.

"Fine." she groaned before turning back to the man. "I hope you aren't to hard on Carl. I really enjoyed his company."

"I don't think I'll be to hard on him." Rick shrugged. She gave him a nod before walking off to get her things ready for a shower. Once she was gone Sawyer turned to Rick.

"I need to talk to you tonight. It's pretty serious" She whispered not wanting to be overheard by Nicole.

"Okay I'll come to the tower tonight."

Sawyer nodded her head. She didn't care if Nicole go mad about this. Rick had the right to know about what happened. She was sure he would want Connor dead just as much as she did.

"Okay."
