TrisPOV
A loud knocking rang from the door, before Christina barged through into my appartment. That entrance couldn't be anything but dauntless, it shocked me how accustomed I had become to the lack of privacy you experience in the dauntless compound. Or how behaviour verging on rude can seem so natural and common. I laugh to myself, imagining my old abnegation friends being in this environment.
"Tris!" She exclaimed with a sigh, grabbing my wrist and pulling me out of the room, into the dim corridor. "Come on!"
"What?" I just manage to kick the door closed, before I'm running with Christina.
"We're going out!" She turned to me, grinning with mirth. I just sighed and followed her, knowing there was no way I would be able to talk her out of something like this, especially when she had that look on her face.
When we reached her room, Christina shoved me so that I fell on the bed. By the time I regained my balance and had sat upright, she was crouched in front of me with a dark pencil clutched in her hand.
"What is this?" I say, grabbing her wrist and turning her hand so I can inspect it. She had a new tattoo on her hand. It started at her wrist, with thin- but defined- black lines, spidering like veins across her palm. As the lines moved further up her delicate hand they thickened and became more bold, curling into black flames that licked around her fingers and creeped onto the back of her hand. She just shrugged in response.
"Its so cool, why didn't you tell me? When did you..." I inquired, being cut short by the look on her face "What?"
"Its just... with what happened with your dad... I thought... Well, I just thought you had more important things to worry about." She finished, with a small, sympathetic smile on her face.
I returned the smile, swallowing the lump that was rising in my throat. I shoved her arm gently, silently thanking her.
After a few seconds, she began advancing again with the dark pencil. I lurched backwards, waving my hands in front of my face to protect myself.
"Where's Will?" I try to distract her, glancing into each of their rooms.
"Would you sit down," She snaps, exasperated. I sigh and slump back down in front of her, sticking my bottom lip out in complaint.
"The boys have gone ahead." She answers, softer this time, winking at we with a wicked grin on her face. Rolling my eyes, I lean forwards, almost retiring, and offering my face to her. I have learnt to just let her do her thing, it normally makes the process quicker.
Half an hour later we are ready. We walk briskly to the club, butterflies already forming in my stomach. I loved that he still gave me that feeling, not that I would tell anyone... except from him. I stand on my tiptoes when we enter the club, knowing that there was no way I'd be able to find them. I curse my height, wishing for the first time that Christina had given me heels.
"There they are!" She exclaimed pointing at the bar, there was no chance I would be able to see them, so I just followed blindly Christina through the crowds. The crowds cleared slightly near the bar, and I was able to make out Tobias' figure. He was standing with Zeke, Uriah and Will laughing at a joke one of them had made. One hand was clutching his stomach as his head shook backwards, the other had a bottle clasped in it, filled with a dark liquid. I was stood there watching him for a few moments, before realizing that Christina had already gone from in front of me and had barrelled into Will, who she was now kissing. His hand fumbled with the bottle, shakily balancing it on the bar behind him so he could reach out, and put both hands on her hips. He pulled her against him, causing them both to slam into the bar and knock the bottle over. Christina shrieked as the dark liquid poured over Will's shins, and splashed around her shoes. They both laughed, and kissed again, smiling against each other mouths.
Tearing my eyes away from the scene, I walk over to Tobias. His face seems to wake up when he sees me, his smile filled with zeal. Tobias' hand slips smoothly around my waist, I inhale sharply as he touches my bare skin. It feels like a very intimate action for such a public place. He pulled me close, into his chest, moving his lips to my neck. His kisses start at the base of my neck, slowly working their way up to my ear.
"You look beautiful, Tris." He murmurs in my ear, his breath is hot and sweet against my neck. Christina had been nice to me, I was wearing a tight, long sleeved black shirt that just showed my collar bone tattoos. The back of it was low, really low, showing the wide expanse of my back. I had on tight black leather trousers, that surprisingly looked flattering, and minimal make up, just black eyeliner surrounding my eyes. I smile putting a hand on his chest and reaching up to kiss his cheek quickly, my lips lingering an inch away from his neck. Then I kiss his jaw, slightly slower this time, trying to inhale his scent, trying to memorize it. I rip my gaze away from him, and nod a 'hello' at the rest of the group, unable to keep a smile off my face.
"Tris!" Uriah yelled, close to my face. I could smell the alcohol on his breath. "You look like you need a drink!" He thrusted a plastic cup into my hands.
I stop myself before I can shake my head, why not?
Tobias raises his eyebrows when I accept the drink, but says nothing. A warm smile spreads across his face as he raised his bottle, looking at me expectantly, I stare back at him and frown, confused. His free hand strokes my wrist, lifting my cup gently towards his so they touch.
"Cheers!" he exclaimed, laughing to himself at my confusion. Leaning into my ear he whispered "Dauntless tradition."
"Ahh," I say and reply, we laugh together and I take a long swig of my drink. I feel it slide down my throat, a warm feeling seems to start in my chest and spread through the rest of my body. At first it is disgusting, but the more I drink the nicer it tastes, so I keep drinking more.
A few hours later, we are still at the club. Tobias in standing behind me as I sit on a stool, his chin in resting on my head and his hands are resting on my hips, pushing my back into his chest. He has been whispering sweet nothings into my ear all night, and had just began to poke me, wanting to leave, to be alone. We say our goodbyes and get up to leave. Suddenly my head felt really heavy, whenever I moved, it took a second for my eyes to focus. It was as if the world around me was going in double time.
Tobias laughed, wrapping an arm around my waist, as if to support us both. The more we walk the more stable I become. As we enter the apartment, Tobias swings me around, pushing my body against the back of the door. He kisses me, his tongue sliding into my mouth. Our kisses start desperate, both of us pushing against each other with as much force as possible, our bodies can't get close enough. I take off my shirt as he takes off his, the alcohol making me brave. We crash into each other again, trying to get as much skin touching as possible. But we couldn't get close enough. We will never be close enough.
