End Note.
…
After El Blanca was finished eating, they gassed the room, and retrieved what was left. Of which there was little. The creature had been completely dismembered. It would have been tedious to pick up all the pieces, so they just went after the parts with weapons and tech attached. Afterwards, they met in the science wing. On table, laid the creatures mask, wrist bracer (with arm still strapped in) and the smashed shoulder cannon. Vinny, Rochelle, and Hope were looking them over.
"This tech is ridiculous…." Hope said.
"You can tell?" Vinny asked. "It's all smashed and useless…"
"I can tell…This cannon is small, but I'm guessing it packs a punch. This round part in the back is a plasma generator….The smallest I've ever seen." She said. "I'd say this is what blew a hole through our guys." Rochelle picked up the mask, which had a large hole in the forehead from Blanca.
"This thing looks like its got a respirator in it. And what looks like…buttons on the inside…Did you see the creatures face?" She asked. Vinny turned to her.
"Yeah, what was left. It looked like it had the same weird crab legs on their mouth Stalkers have." He said.
"I'm guessing it uses those mandibles to use these buttons. No clue what they do. Its all scrap now…" Rochelle said, pressing the buttons. Jay and April walked in. They had checked out his back, and found no breaks. But it was still sore.
"There's our clever bastard." Rochelle said. "You're fast on your way to bad ass of the month." She said jokingly.
"Uh, Thanks I guess…" Jay said nervously. He seemed to have reverted back to his normal self. April walked to the table.
"Status Report?" She asked.
"Shits broken." Vinny said quickly.
"Damn…" April picked up the gauntlet. "You can't access anything on the computer?"
"I Might be able to, if you give me some time." Rochelle said.
"Take as much as you want." April said. They heard yelling down the hall, and seconds later Mr. Simons and a man in a lab coat walked in.
"Can I help you?" April asked.
"Sorry for the intrusion, Sgt. Harding." Simons replied. "This is Prof. Dumaws, Head of the research department." Dumaws barged in front on Simons.
"Who had the creature destroyed!?" He yelled. "The insight we could have learned from a living specimen is inconceivable!" April pause and looked at Jay.
"Fuckin nailed it." She said. She turned back to Dumas. "Sorry, Doctor. But public safety is-"
"Professor!" He interrupted. "Professor Dumaws! Thank you!" April looked at him annoyed.
"I'm Sorry. Professor Dumas." She corrected herself. "Public safety is number one. 3 security guards were killed in the attack. We weren't gonna risk more."
Dumas's angered face suddenly lighted, realizing how inconsiderate he sounded. He took a moment to calm down.
"My apologies," He said, "I was unaware of any casualties." He walked to the table. "I let my passion get the better of me." He looked at the armor on the table. "You retrieved these from the Xenomorph cage? Are they operational?"
"No, they're shredded." Rochelle answered. "But the computer may be saved, with the right equipment."
"I can supply you with that." Dumaws said.
"Professor." April approached him. "Do you have any idea why this creature attacked the facility?" Dumas paused.
"…Not a clue. How would I know?" He replied. At that moment, April saw something in her mind. A strange object, with markings similar to the ETs equipment. It looked like the wrist computer. In a white room, it sat on a desk. She got closer, as if in someone else's body. She saw in a reflection, Professor Dumaws, as if looking through his eyes. Only he seemed younger. Then he grabbed the object and ran out of the room. April blinked. The vision seemed to only happen in a second.
'The hell was that?' She thought. She quickly composed herself and replied to him.
"Just thought I'd ask." She said. Dumas turned to Rochelle.
"Please gather what you need and come with me. Lets see what we can get off the computer." He said and walked out with her. April watched him leave with a confused look. Jay noticed.
"You ok April?" He asked. She turned to him.
"Don't ask me how….But I'm pretty sure he's lying."
"….How?" Jay asked.
"Did I not just tell you not to ask?" She said.
"Sorry…"
"…..I ….I Think I read his mind….and saw a memory." April said unwillingly.
"Really?" Jay asked.
"Don't tell Vinny. I don't need to listen to his Psychic bull shit."
"Is that an order?"
"Your damn right it is." April said and walked out of the room.
Meanwhile in the chem lab, El Blanca awoke from the effects of the gas. She stood up on all fours and shook herself, much like a dog. She looked around the room. Still trapped. She hissed, annoyed. Blanca roamed around the room, tasting the air until she found a chunk of meat left from her prey. She grabbed it with her mouth and let her proboscis rip off chunks to swallow. After she was done, she crawled around more. Floor, walls and ceiling. Using her echolocation to scan every inch of the room. Every dent, every crack was examined to see if it lead anywhere. None she could reach. She snarled and slammed her fist down. It landed on a half of the hunters spear, slicing her hand. Blanca shrieked in pain, lifting her hand away from it. Her blood dripped down onto the floor, and instantly started melting the floor. The smell and sound grabbed her attention. She blindly watched the crater form, and slid a hand across it. Interesting. She knew of her blood as a weapon, but never thought of it as a way of escape. She gripped her fist and more blood dripped, making the crater bigger. The flow stopped as her small wound started closing. Blanca looked around. Leapt from wall to wall examining everything again. She found a vent. Circular, 2 inches wide, she couldn't fit. But still….She echo located into the vent, and listened. When the ping came back, she had a mental map of it. It got bigger 10 feet down. Big enough for her. A sound caught her attention. Outside the room. She turned to the armor shuttered window. In the hall way, 2 figures walked by. Human shaped. They were familiar. One was the male that feed her, the one whose heart she liked to hear beat with fear. It made such a lovely rhythm. The other was female…human shaped…but…different. Her heart beat was stronger…like Blancas sisters…Blanca tilted her head in confusion, and watched until the heart beats where out of range. She turned back to the vent. She had her way out. But she had some digging to do. Just need some blood.
