"Bramblestar! Bramblestar!" Foxleap cried outside of his den.

"What is it?" Bramblestar said, padding out while shaking his head to clear off the sleepiness.

"Someone has invaded ThunderClan," Foxleap said. "And I mean someone. It's one cat."

"How?" Bramblestar asked, padding out of camp as fast as possible.

Outside of camp, every plant, every tree, every inch of ground was all covered in one scent. Bramblestar sniffed at a fern near the entrance, but couldn't identify the scent. However, he could have sworn on StarClan that the scent was familiar, but he couldn't quite remember from where.

"Did this all happen overnight?" he asked Foxleap, who had followed him out of camp.

"Well, there was a little hint of that scent near the border yesterday, but there wasn't much, so we ignored it. We assumed it was a stray or loner."

Bramblestar groaned. "Take a team of cats and spread out in ThunderClan territory. We have to renew our scents. If any of the other clans find out about this, we'll never hear the end of this."

Foxleap went around camp, choosing cats to take on this expedition. Bramblestar padded out of camp, trying to renew some of the scents in the direction towards ShadowClan. After spreading out a few scent markers, he padded off to the ShadowClan border to renew the scent markers there. When he got there, however, there was already a group of ShadowClan cats at the border.

"Oooooooooh, it's the leader," Ivytail sneered. "What Clan are you from again? Because I thought ThunderClan used to live here."

Ignoring her, Bramblestar padded around, renewing the scent marks.

"How did you manage to drive out ThunderClan?" Spikepaw asked. "Wait no, you probably just padded in and they just gave everything up to you.'

After Bramblestar finished, he walked back to camp. Meeting Cloudtail as he reentered camp, he suddenly heard a screech, not too far away. The two cats ran off towards the source of the screech without a second thought.

As he reached the spot, all he could see was a lump of white fur, lying near the roots of the Ancient Oak. There was the scent of the cat who was lying there, legs splayed, but more than that, the unknown scent was everywhere, an overwhelming layer of it on top of the ThunderClan scent.

Cloudtail, halted, eyes wide as he saw the cat, recognizing the body that was stretched out on the ground. "No, no, no!" he cried, racing towards it frantically.

And that's the end of this chapter. I'm sorry I gave that cliffhanger to you guys, yes I hate cliffhangers too but I couldn't resist. I'll try to update soon to avoid death by feels, but no promises. Don't kill me please . at least you guys have a hint to who it is. If someone messages me with the correct cat who's lying there, then you will get to choose who dies next.
