I do not own Haikyuu!

Enjoy!

Today was the big day.

It was Lion Gate vs. Shikuku U.

This was the battle that would decide who would go to the Nationals.

However, not a single person in the crowd was convinced that Lion Gate would win because they only started trying and hadn't shaken off the stigma of being a joke of a volleyball team.

Even those who came to support the team and the term was said very loosely, did not have hope that the team would finally break into nationals.

Raanan watched as the whistle blow before leaving and walking around; those guys had been working so hard.

He almost didn't want revenge.

Almost.

Meanwhile, everybody was looking at the huge guy with a hood over his head.

It wasn't every day you see height like that.

Ranaan looked for a vending machine and found out, this one was of the weird ones where you can actually get a meal from one.

Pretty expensive.

He opened his wallet and began to put a seemingly endless stream of coins in before pressing what he wanted.

Pretty soon he had a giant burrito.

"Holy, hell. You can afford that?" Suddenly a voice said making him freeze.

He knew that voice even though it had been over two years since he heard it.

His senpai.

Yū Nishinoya

Ch 11: Unexplained hostility

Yū Nishinoya

Had come to cheer his University on, he was far too busy with work to play volleyball anymore.

Ever since Hinata died, he like many others was glad he died because he could stop acting so commercial and pretending like he was a Senpai to that idiot.

Who knew that the team would tank so badly without Hinata unnatural energy?

How could he get noticed if his team was tanking?

By third year, he had managed to convince his parents to transfer him out of the school, and now he was here.

Sure the journey was far longer but the team was good, and he had a good three year.

He was bombed because his parent came down on him about his grades and all he could do was study and work.

Today, he decided to come and watch, after the long journey he was relieved to find a vending machine, only to find out it was one of those special vending machines.

He didn't have the money for anything inside and looking around; he could see several people hovering around it looking at the vending machine with longing eyes.

He decided to hover to until he saw a giant of a person with a hood up walk towards it.

He thought the giant didn't have enough because he thought it was a normal vending machine.

He was wrong.

The giant could afford it!

Those who watched looked on in envy as the guy got a foot-long sandwich with all the works.

That's when he decided to speak out.

However, he didn't expect the complete asshole, that would make himself known.

The Giant paid for something else immediately.

Something much more expensive and then the giant took a sip before chucking the whole thing in the bin.

One word came to mind.

An asshole.

Who is this dick!?

Suddenly the guy went back to the vending machine and began to empty it out and threw food away.

"Don't just throw it away! Give one to me if you don't want it, damn it!" Nishinoya said, speaking for those who wanted but couldn't get.

"I'm sorry but I paid for them so why should I give it to a poor person like you, shorty?" The voice was cold and attend to attack his lack of money and height.

As if he knew that was what would set him off.

"Who are you, asshole!?" Noya said. "You don't know if I'm just standing around doing nothing. I'll take being short any day than having freakish legs. I was just saying that you shouldn't waste. ."

"Oh, really, s,hort,y," said, the giant. "Are you my Senpai? No. What about my parents? No. So why should I listen to you. Just shut and watch. Who cares what I do with the food as long as I pay for it? It's not against the law to. do this."

Not only did he slap him with the truth but he downright insulted him in the process.

"Look. I don't know what your problem is, but we don't even know each other names, so let's both agree to walk away" Nishinoya said before it could get ugly.

"But I ,kno,w you," said, the giant. "Yū Nishinoya. Karasuno's Guardian Deity. One of the best Libero out there and yet, Two years later, were at place where an important Volleyball match is going on and nobody seems to recognize you or care. Just how badly did you play in those two years?"

That did it.

Nishinoya looked ready to punch him, but the giant easily dodged the punch making him wobble off balance.

"It must have been really bad if you assaulted me." Said, the Giant. "I bet you don't even play Volleyball anymore. That's pathetic for somebody who was once praised."

Then the guy left as if he hadn't said a word.

"Who is that asshole!" Nishinoya said.

And then he saw the name on the jacket.

Lion Gate Academy?

That fancy academy, his University was playing against right now?

He hoped that his team got crushed.

Raanan walked back to the stadium is a good mood, when the players who weren't playing saw him, they could tell he was in a good mood.

What on earth happened in those 15 minutes?

Raanan saw the score.

14: 23 to Shikuku U.

"I thought our team would be crushing those rich boys on every ,round," said, one guy to his friends. "But Lion Gate Academy is pretty good"

And it wasn't just him who shared that opinion, mere indifference towards Lions Gate at the beginning had turned into the crowd seeing them as an actual opponent.

Lion Gate was doing a lot more than trying.

However, from now on, the stamina between both teams would begin to show.

And Lion Gate academy manager massages were God sent, she had a lot more experience with each player body compared to the first match.

The other team could only look on enviously.

However, the difference was clearly beginning to show on both teams.

While Shikuku U was sweating so hard that they were slipping, Lion Gate was only breathing heavy, and that allowed the team of rich boys to catch up fast.

To those who saw, you would have thought that Lion Gates biggest weapon were those messages.

And that's what the coach of the team wanted them to think so that Raanan could have a proper stage when he stepped onto the court.

The teams were going back and forth, but Lion Gates opponents were sweating too much, Lion Gate playing style forced them to go full throttle from the get-go.

Before anybody knew it, the whistle to end the match had been blown, and not even the players themselves realized who had won or lost.

The announcer did it for them.

"The winner...LION GATE ACADEMY!" Shouted the announcer much of the crowd's shock.

Shikiku U looked like they just received a slap on the face.

Lion Gate academy were celebrating because the match was ridiculously hard on them despite their calm composure on the Court.

"Wait. Lion Gate academy won?" Said, one guy whose appearance was neat and kept. "WE WON!"

To think he only attended because he was bored!

The two teams respectfully bowed to each other and then left.

Lion Gate academy walked out with their heads held high, Raanan and those who hadn't played went to join their team as they exited out.

"We're going to the Nationals!" Said, Steff.

The people who were just wondering outside were in for a huge and massive shock.

"Those Rich Boys, Lion Gate academy won!?" Nishinoya said, the place, that asshole went to actually won!?

But Shikuku was strong!

Just then Lion Gate Academy players were seen moving his way much to the people shock, and Nishinoya got a good looking at the demented grin that wasn't so concealed for him to see from Raanan as he came.

The giant luxurious Lion's Gate Bus was only a meter away from him.

Raanan passed him, and Nishinoya felt like he had just been slapped.

However, he could say nothing.

He wasn't on a Volleyball team, and the people who were lost.

That guy now had a chance to go Pro at the nationals where cameras will be everywhere and reporters would be paying attention.

Lion Gate made their way onto the bus and didn't even look anybody in the eye.

They vehicle began to leave.

Not it was time to truly celebrate.

"IT WAS SO HARD!" Bradigon suddenly yelled.

"I can't feel my legs" Jonathan said.

"I should be the one saying that. Do you know how hard it was to message you guys when your bodies were under a lot of stress?" Their manager, Mariet said. "I touched so much sweat" she realized not wearing gloves was a mistake.

"To celebrate our vi,ctory" said, the coach. "I will allow you to choose what place were going to eat at tonight and I will pay for all of you"

They all cheered.

Not even a rich person could turn down a free meal.

"Raanan" said the man getting his attention. "When the time comes, I will register you for our National line-up."

"Finally, we get to show our true strength" Steef said and it would be a lie if Raanan didn't feel something being called that.

He had gone from easily disposable to a massive sword in two years.

"Tomorrow, there will be no training" the man announced, but he know it was useless saying that.

Rannan had affected the whole team and they will all be jogging by tomorrow morning even if there was no practice.

"Lion Gate Academy vs Shikuku Academy should be , over now" said, a man in a suit and tie, smoking. "Who do you think won?"

"Shikuku U without, question," said, his co-worker. "Shikuku U has experience on their side and ability. Lion Gate got lucky in the previous match because they shocked their opponent by trying. There is no way they can use that again"

"Your right," said the man. "How much did you think, they won by? Could it be a crushing defeat?"

Suddenly the door slammed opened and in came the person tasked to watch the match.

"SHIKUKU U LOST!" Said, the person much to everybody shock. "I saw it with my own eyes. Lion Gate is a good team!"

Everybody's eyes were wide.

Shikuku U lost!?

The people who were just about to put in Shikuku name for Nationals blinked as the man gave them the results of the match.

Lion Gate did indeed win.

"We'll, hurry up and put in the result!" Said head woman, she too was in disbelief. "Lion Gate Academy will be in the 8th Team to go to Nationals"

# At the same time#

All the Volleyball news outlets, who were ready to print the name of Shikuku High for national got quite a shocking phone call from those who loosely watched the match.

Shikuku U did not win instead Lion Gate Academy did.

The rich boys had won and where the ones heading to nationals instead.

Just like that, the joke of the team had transformed with that piece of news, and nobody could say that they won due to surprise, because Shikuku would have come prepared.

Did they even have a proper photo?

Damn.

"Get me a proper photograph before the others!" Said an editor in chief for a well know Sports magazine.

Lion Gate Academy could no longer be ignored.

The media were forced to look at these rich boys.

And scene!

Next chapter, the big players come out to register for the Nationals and even though Lion Gate academy is dressed impressively, they aren't getting the publicity the other teams are getting because nobody thinks there a huge contender for number one. Review/fav and follow!
