It glanced up, sensing everything in the room. The cuffs that chained one hand of It's meat suit to the wall and one that chained Loki to the far end, the heat, how it was slightly cooler on It's side than Loki's. if It reached out far enough It still wouldn't be close enough to touch the Frost Giant.
"Loki?" It asked. He glanced up, eyes full of anger at seeing it.
"Bring Rose back." He demanded, his voice nearly cracking. The heat was getting to him, the perks of being a Frost Giant, he was mere seconds from losing conciseness. "You're killing her."
He didn't understand, how easily It could stop the Chitauri, but it would come at the cost of the body It possessed, he couldn't lose her. She -Rose- loved Loki, It could feel it too, the love that swirled around her even when she wasn't in control, which caused It to love him as well. A strange feeling to the Badwolf.
He glared at it, anyone else would have flinched away from the intensity of the stare but the Time Vortex matched it.
"Bring Rose back." He demanded yet again. The Badwolf wondered if he could ever love something like it, -did it even know what love felt like?- it was strange the Badwolf could see all of time and space but couldn't read Loki, couldn't ever tell what he was thinking. Maybe his magic had blocked it out? But Rose could easily read Loki, Badwolf could tell from when it laid dormant inside Rose, fooling the Doctor to believe it was gone, which was not an easy task.
The Badwolf tugged at the chain, causing it to break apart into millions of gold pieces and then flicker away. Loki stared at it and for a moment Badwolf thought there was fear for his own life in his eyes, but then it realized it was fear for the pink human's life.
Why was he so worried? If he let Rose sacrifice herself the Badwolf could save this planet, it would be one life lost compared to the millions if they used the foolish plan the people from Rose's first universe came up with.
The temperature cooled and Loki staggered to his feet.
"Yes," Badwolf says. "I understand, bring Rose back." And it turned, hand reaching around and grabbing Loki's wrist, -that was proper earth custom, wasn't it?- and left the room, not bothering to run, since it did have all of time and space at it's control.
Loki cursed silently, a Midgardian habit he had picked up on over the years. They were in the woods, having just emerged from the underground bunker they were left in, Loki wasn't sure if the reason why they didn't meet any other people or Chitauri in the bunker was because of the Time Vortex or perhaps no one really cared.
He glanced at the Badwolf, who stared straight ahead, gold eyes glimmering.
"Loki," It said. "Shall I take us to London?"
Loki frowned, knowing it would injure Rose even more to have the Badwolf use that much energy to transport them some where.
"Yes."
Clint's definition of fun was slightly different from Peggy's.
"Duck and go around." Peggy shouted to Clint. He ignored her and socked the Chitauri closest to him in the jaw.
"I'm good here." He announced, hitting another one in the jaw. If he kept this up he would break his hand in a matter of minutes.
There was a remaining one and Peggy swooped down to kick the legs out from under it. The Chitauri reached out and plucked Peggy off the ground, swinging her over his shoulder.
Peggy brought her own hand down over the Chitauri's head and they awkwardly crumpled to the floor in a pile of limbs.
Peggy cursed and rolled off the Chitauri, she took a moment to suck in her breath before standing up. Clint stared at her, his face unreadable.
"Are you ready to stop being reckless and come along?" She snapped. Clint had been doing this for hours, picking fights with the scientist Chitauri, killing them all before they could sound the alarm, and when the next shift came in he'd kill them too.
Clint shrugged. He glanced around the room one last time to make sure there wasn't anything else they could use as weapons.
"Yeah." He muttered to Peggy's surprise.
She looked around, they had cleaned out most of the labs and Chitauri on this floor. Peggy stepped into the hall, facing the elevator and glanced out of the corner of her eye, seeing if there were any perception filters on this floor, perhaps they could find another Avenger or possibly the Doctor. (Peggy would have preferred finding the Doctor at this point.)
Clint waited patiently for her.
She nodded.
The elevator doors opened. Peggy glanced at Clint and nodded slightly. He rolled his eyes at her. Clint and Peggy stepped out of their hiding places on each side of the elevator. Clint took out a Chitauri with his quiver and a swift kick delivered from Peggy knocked out a second Chitauri. Clint hit yet another Chitauri in the jaw. Peggy could see the purple bruises on his hand from her angle as she fought off the fourth and final one.
They stepped into the elevator, to Peggy's annoyance the music was techno.
Clint smirked at her.
"Have a plan, Ms. Rogers?"
Peggy stepped forwards and punched Clint in the jaw. He spit blood on to the floor and frowned at Peggy.
"Ow."
Peggy turned away as the doors slide open.
"Follow me." She commanded, not waiting to see if Clint did. She closed her eyes for a moment. It was always best to act as if you knew what you were doing, she thought. She began walking again, counting down four doors and opening the one on her left.
Clint stopped behind her, taking in the scene.
The Doctor and Clint's friend, Natasha, were sitting in chairs, wires attached to them. Natasha was thrashing around wildly. Clint lunged past Peggy towards Natasha.
"Stop." Peggy hissed. Clint was already at Natasha, trying to get the wires off. Peggy glanced around, knowing the Chitauri were watching them like rats trapped in a maze, desperately trying to find their way out. She strolled towards the Doctor, reaching in his pocket to grab the sonic screwdriver. A few wires popped off but the rest Peggy had to remove. When she got to the IV she paused, unsure of how to remove it. Clint leaned over and plucked it out. The Doctor yelled and spluttered, his eyes flying open. Natasha came into the world slightly slower and more calmly compared to the trashing state she was just in. Her eyes narrowed as she gazed at something past Clint.
The Doctor's jaw dropped.
"Hello," Rose said in a way of greeting. Peggy was certain they weren't there moments before. It was then she realized the gold color of Rose's eyes.
The Doctor stood up slowly, approaching the Badwolf and Loki.
"I wouldn't." Loki warned and the Doctor froze, his hands in the air as if surrendering. Clint frowned and Peggy realized she better explain.
"Dr. Banner experimented with gamma radiation," she said, remembering she had read that somewhere. "It created his alter ego. Rose looked into the heart of the Tardis, she's almost like Bruce, but certainly more dangerous."
"She can make it so you never existed." Natasha said faintly. Peggy was briefly surprised about how Natasha knew that.
The Badwolf's head tilted, as if sensing they were talking about it.
It smiled menacingly and blinked. Gold was the last thing Peggy saw.
Whoa, it's been a while. Sorry about that. I'm never sure what to write and when someone makes a request or asks me to update it means the world to me!:D
Why I haven't updated this time: I had to go to this 4H congress thing and I assumed I'd be able to write during that but there was a rumor going around that if you took your phone or iPod out of your bag or whatever it'd be taken away until the end of the program. I didn't want to risk it.
Support Roski: Thanks for reviewing! I ship them too! They're my otp. It wasn't as much Roski as I had hoped in this chapter, but there's going be even more now that I know people who ship Roski read this!:D
Angels in the Tardis: thanks! I hope you liked this chapter!
Oh and the reason why the POV for Badwolf is so messy is bc I've been working on 2nd POV and I wanted to write it there so badly.
