The trio arrived at the luxury apartment complex, when Law and Kid stepped out from the car both of them had to do a double take on just where they arrived.

The apartments were spilt into three different buildings, there were six stories plus a smaller floor that didn't cover the entire roof; that was most likely the penthouse. The building was painted a beige gold, with white balconies that stuck out from the windows. Speaking of windows, the area where the front doors were, all the way to the roof and to the right to form an L shape, were all windows, where you could see the elevator going up and down. There were people walking in and out of the building at every moment.

The two friends simultaneously turned their heads to look at each other with wide eyes, neither Law nor Kid said a word but, they both knew what the other was thinking. "Is this for real?"

It's not like they didn't know what luxury was, they grew up in Orlando, Florida after all, and it's just that the two of them didn't live in neighborhoods that were this expensive, their neighborhoods were suburban fancy, so like the cheap version of the luxury neighborhoods.

The three of them began to walk towards the building and the closer they got, the more in awe Kid and Law became, they saw just how tall the building really was when they walked through the doors. Luffy went straight to the front desk, striking up a conversation with the concierge; he came back a few minutes later with a warm smile spread across his face.

"I did the paperwork for you, and got the keys. You're in room 7. " He held up a twin pair of keys, dangling them from his fingers.

Kid hastily grabbed his key. And ran over to the elevator, he waved excitedly for Luffy and Law to join him. "Come on, you guys!"

Luffy laughed playfully and ran right after him, joining him on the elevator. He turned back to see Law still stuck in place. He didn't really know what move to make next, he didn't want to get in the elevator but, it wouldn't be so bad if it was just Luffy and Kid, plus he didn't really want to climb the stairs in this kind of place, it seemed kind of pointless in a luxury apartment building. He looked around at the expensive furniture all around him and it took him a minute to comprehend that he actually agreed to live in such a place as this.

"Law, come on!" Luffy called out to him, when Law turned to walk towards the elevator, as he approached all he could see was Kid and Luffy's smiling faces and he couldn't help but, wonder if he could smile like that one day.

The elevator went straight ot the top of the building when they placed their key in for room 7, which was the only room that needed a key, and once the doors opened both Law and Kid see why.

Kid ran out of the elevator and straight back to the bedrooms, not wasting a single second longer. The elevator doors opened up to a giant living room/kitchen, on the right half the carpet was pure black, like coal, while the walls were a bloody red, the decorations and furniture seemed to all be white or shades of grey. This room was made for Kid. At least, that's what Law thought.

There were little pops of gold at places, like the fire place had a golden mantle that was outlined with black. The couch was a pale grey color, with black and red throw pillows placed nicely on the cushions. But, what caught his attention wasn't the colors, the pretty furniture, or even how fancy this place was.

It was the large window wall, towards the front of the room. They were on the top floor, penthouse that was even above the sixth floor. He could look out at the city for miles, and what made the view better was that he could see the orange California sun setting on the horizon. His eyes were probably sparkling with awe. He was lost in a trance when, he felt a tug to the shoulder of his t-shirt.

It was Luffy. "Do you like it?"

Law turned to look at the raven and admired him in the suns light before turning back to look out. "I like the sun." He answered honestly, he remembered how Luffy told him about his love for the ocean back in Florida so, and it wouldn't hurt if Law told him he felt a similar way towards the sun.

"Oh really? What about the sun?" Luffy asked the question Law knew was coming.

Law let out a deep breath. "I like how bright it is, how it brings smiles to people faces for just simply being around, how it's practically a ball of fire, it's still so beautiful and tame, and specifically how when it begins to set it lets off a warm glow of orange and pink mixed together…" His voice trailed off the longer he continued, he didn't really know why he was saying these things out loud but, since it was Luffy; it should be alright.

"That's really deep." Luffy chuckled, crossing his arms over his chest but, he didn't waver his gaze away from the sun once.

Law shrugged, shaking his head; looking over to Luffy. "Not really, I'm just admiring nature."

The raven let a slight smile come over him. He hummed, "mhm," He looked over to Law with his glowing obsidian eyes. "Maybe."

Law had a feeling Luffy wanted to say more but, chose to hold back his tongue. Which upset the teen, if he had something he wanted to say; he would normally say it so why not now?

"If you have someth-"

Before, Law could finish his question Kid came running out of the bedrooms. "LAW! LAW, THIS PLACE IS AMAZING! YOU HAVE TO Go look a…" when he rounded the corner; he realized he just walked in on a moment he wasn't sure was wise to interrupt. "I mean… uh… "

Both, Law and Luffy looked from each other, to Kid and back to each other. They both let out a laugh. "You weren't interrupting anything." Luffy joked, walking over to the red head.

"If you think this place is amazing you should go look at all the other buildings, what do you say? I could take you guys around this area so you know where to go for groceries and whatever else you would need." The raven suggested, placing his pointer finger on his cheek.

"Would you really?" Kid asked excitedly.

Luffy laughed. "Of course, we have to walk though, if I saw up anywhere with my car the paparazzi will find me in a flash."

"That's fine with me, what do you say Law?" Both of them looked at him with expecting gazes.

His eyes widened, he wasn't sure he was capable of that, he looked out the window towards the sidewalk, and saw all the people walking along the side walk, he recalled the amount of people that were outside the apartment complex before they came in and was positive that number must have doubled by now. He swallowed the salvia in his mouth and looked back at the pair. There absolutely no way he would be able to walk in a crowd that massive. No way.

He shook his head. "I can't. Sorry."

Instead of disappointed glares, he was expecting both of the guys eyes softened. "It's okay, Law. I'll just take you around in the morning when there is less people, yeah?" Kid sent him a comforting smile.

Law looked away from his gaze. "Yeah." He mumbled, if there was ever time he felt like more of inconvenience than he already felt, this was it. He was still trying to understand why Kid begged an anti-social to come live him with him in one of the most social places on the earth.

"Okay, then Kid, are you ready?" Luffy had walked to elevator already holding the door open for the red headed teen.

"Yeah, we'll be back later Law."

They waved goodbye and as soon as the door to the elevator closed he felt lonely. He wished that he could go out do that, he wished he go out with his two closest friends and learn about the new place he was going to be living. He really wished that he wouldn't have to turn his friend's offers to go out all the time. He didn't deserve friends as understanding as Kid and Lu.

He stared at the skyline for about 30 minutes, before he decided that maybe since the sun had gone down that he could try to go outside. He wanted to change, for the first time in his life. He wanted to push himself beyond his comfort zone. He made his way down to the ground floor, as he approached the front doors he took a deep breath, letting it out slowly, paused as he exited the door way and counted to ten.

He walked out into the side walk where all the people were hustling on the side walk and immediately stepped back to the stairs. Okay, this wasn't as easy as he made himself believe.

Law took a deep breath again, and tried to walk along the side walk but only after three steps, he jumped back towards the stairs. There were so many people, too many people… maybe he should just go back inside. There was no way he could do this alone. Why was he kidding himself?

No, he wasn't going to quit just yet. Maybe just one more try. This time he closed his eyes, clenched his fists really tight and stepped into the crowd of people, he heard all the conversations, he heard the click of heels walking next him, he heard skateboards riding along the sidewalks causing people to move towards the edges and closer to him. He didn't know how many steps he took before he jumped out at the nearest spot available. He looked back at where he came from and saw that he had walked all the way to the closest store to the apartment building.

Law almost let out a yell. He was proud of himself, he was able to make it this far without anyone there and he hasn't passed out yet. If he could keep this going maybe he could cure himself? He was doubtful but, if he never tried, he wouldn't know.

He made his way back quickly, doing the same things, closing his eyes and clenching his fist and keeping his arms close to his sides. He peaked open his eyes when he felt that the apartment was close, he jumped out of the crowd when he saw the stairs.

His heart was beating rapidly, he was out of breath, and he felt very tired. He wanted to lay down, which is exactly what he did once he reached the apartment. He couldn't even make it to the couch but, that was okay the floor of this place was comfier than his own bed. He placed his arms underneath his head and felt his eyes drifting close.

Maybe he could try doing that again tomorrow and maybe he could get farther.
