AN: Sorry it's a little late, but I'm also hoping to update again before this weekend so hopefully you'll have 2 new chapters this week. But anyways here's this one.
Klaus POV
"What the hell do you mean this baby isn't Klaus'?!"
"Elijah!" I growl as I shut the door. There's silence for a moment, but I can sense the heavy breathing of the wolf.
"We're in the lounge, Nik!" I hear Rebekah call. I resist the urge to yell that's obvious. Instead I calmly walk into the lounge and see Hayley and Elijah standing in the middle of the room. Elijah has a bored expression on even though Hayley is glaring at him, a glare that turns to me when i walk in. Rebekah is sitting on a couch watching with an amused smile as she sips her drink.
"He's been off all day and when I said something we started arguing and he said something like 'If the baby was actually my brothers'. What the fuck is that?" Hayley answers instead. I throw a look to Elijah but he just looks annoyed. of course I should've seen this coming, he thought that baby was the best chance for me and our family.
"We've come across some recent news that the child may not be mine," I mostly tell the truth.
"Who the heck else could it belong to? There was no one else!" Hayley demands.
"We're trying to figure that out," I lie and walk into the room more.
"You're telling me I've been stuck here with you when this kid may be someone else's who I just don't remember? Fuck this I'm out of here then," Hayley goes to push past me. I swiftly grab her arm and yank her back, twisting her arm behind her.
"You'd think now you would be more careful around me because without that child, you are nothing to me and I could kill you without hesitation or remorse," I hiss then let go of her.
"You will be staying here until this is sorted out, and I suggest you lose the attitude before you lose a limb," I casually walk towards Rebekah and sit next to her. Hayley stands stunned by the door glancing between me and Elijah. Although Elijah seems disgruntled by my rudeness, he just settles into a chair, letting the matter go. Hayley huffs petulantly and storms to her room. We sit in silence until we hear her door slam. Rebekah starts laughing.
"Nik you really would've loved it. Elijah was pouty over the baby. Hayley was throwing herself at him, not getting anywhere with him. She, of course, got annoyed and they started arguing. Actually it was more like Hayley whine yelling and Elijah scolding her," Rebekah shares gleefully.
"Elijah honestly I thought we agreed not to say anything yet. I didn't realize you'd become the blabbermouth of the family," I raise an eyebrow at him.
"I would hardly call it blabbing. I believe I was just slightly… upset over the news and didn't respond very well today," he replies.
"Elijah just try not to tell the wolf anything else until we've sorted through this all, but right now I have something I need to tell you both," I begin. Elijah and Rebekah both look at me curiously.
"Caroline is here. She just arrived earlier and I just met with her at Rousseau's too put on a show to fend off Marcel's suspicions," I inform them.
"I understand that makes your situation more difficult, but what's that have to do with me?" Rebekah asks.
"She's not alone. Bonnie Bennett is with her and they told me something. As I'm sure you know the Bennett is now the Anchor to the Other Side. Caroline said they're here to help me out and then also find a way to bring someone back from the Other Side. Bonnie has been annoyed enough to agree to bring him back. They're going to bring Kol back," I finish. Elijah and Rebekah sit stunned for a moment.
"They are willing to help bring Kol back from the Other Side?" Elijah finally speaks. I nod in agreement.
"We've all tried to find a way, witches are still looking. How can they bring him back?" Rebekah questions.
"Because Bonnie is the Anchor and people pass through her to die, she will be able to do what the other witches we've tried cannot," I answer.
"Why would they help? Sure Caroline has a thing for you, but she didn't like Kol and Bonnie's boyfriend is the one who killed Kol," she points out.
"Caroline said she wants to because he's my brother and Bonnie said she didn't want to be the only one stuck with him, but honestly I think they both feel a little guilty and Bonnie is trying to fix some of what she did for the cure," I respond. We again sit in silence realizing that this is the closest we've been to any way of getting Kol back.
Marcel POV
My guys who saw Caroline and Klaus finish up telling me what happened. That Klaus was slightly aggressive until they started making out.
"You want us to follow her?" Diego asks.
"Just send one of your guys to watch her. She may not be a threat, but there's something," I tell him. She may be just a plaything to Klaus, but that doesn't explain the daylight ring. When Diego turns to leave, Cami comes out from the back. She looks around before speaking to me.
"Where is Klaus and his friend?" she asks emphasizing 'friend'. Cami has a slight crush on Klaus, but it's not anything I can't handle.
"They went back to her hotel. They looked awfully cozy. Do you know how they know each other?" I ask. She can probably tell me things my men can't.
"Just that they sleep together. She made that very clear. When she walked in Klaus was talking to me. She seemed jealous and started throwing herself at him," Cami scoffs.
"How'd Klaus react to that?" I ask.
"He seemed annoyed obviously, but he didn't dismiss her like he normally does. That's how I knew they knew each other so I asked. She thinks they're more than they are," she explains. Caroline may be more into Klaus than I thought, or it may be the compulsion. I'm about to ask her another question when my phone vibrates.
From Davina: Get here.
"I have to go, but I'll see you later," I flash her a smile and then rush to the church.
"What is it Davina?" I ask as I walk into her room. Davina spins around from her painting easel with a worried look.
"I felt something. Someone is here," Davina says.
"There's a new vampire, is that what you felt? Is she dangerous?" I ask.
"No. No it's not a vampire. I don't know what it is or what it means. It's just powerful. It felt like I was drowning in magic, but it wasn't really," she runs her hands through her hair.
"You painted, is it the person," I step towards her painting. Davina turns around and we stand side by side looking at the picture.
"I couldn't get a picture, it was like it wasn't just one person. But then it is. And everything just became transparent and blurred," Davina explains. The painting is grey and white with streaks of black strewn across the paper. It looks like shadows combining into one. The only thing any of my guys has sensed is Caroline.
"The new vampire did you sense her at all?" I wonder.
"No all I've felt was that power, it consumed everything. I was out for a short time," she states. I felt Caroline was a vampire. Something either made it seem that way, or something is clouding her from Davina and that's the power she felt.
"You continue working on finding out what you can, I'm going to check on something," I say turning towards the door.
"I need more things!" Davina calls to me.
"I'll send Josh to you," I throw over my shoulder. I pull my phone out of my pocket and call Diego.
"What hotel?" I ask.
"Hampton, room 244. Couldn't hear anything, he thinks sage," Diego answers.
"Tell him I'm headed over. Send another guy to meet us," I order then hang up. I flash to the hotel. When I reach the right hallway, Chad and Jay are waiting for me.
"You two are just going to stand by the door unless I signal you. Klaus may still be there and she's unknown," I walk down the hall. When I find 244 I throw a look to both of them and they nod back in understanding. I want this taken care of quickly and carefully. I knock on the door. We stand there for a minute until the door slowly opens. A head of blonde curls peeks out carefully. When she sees me her eyebrows scrunch together for a moment before she smiles widely.
"Marcel! I wasn't expecting you! Sorry it took so long to answer, I wasn't decent," she giggles and slowly opens the door all the way to reveal her holding together the bathrobe on her. She lets go of the door as I step in and ties the strings together.
"And you've brought friends," she smiles at them.
"We were out doing something when I realized we needed to see you earlier than Klaus would probably take," I lie.
"Speaking of is he still here?" I ask. I can smell him on the room, and I can sense someone else slightly, but it doesn't feel like Klaus.
"Oh no, you just missed him. He left, some family thing," she sighs. I glance at my guys by the door, but one of them has already pulled out his phone and sending a message to make sure the Mikaelson's aren't getting up to anything,
"So what is it you want Mr. King?" Caroline asks sitting on the bed and gently fixing her robe.
I walk to the table and sit down.
"You said earlier that you know my important rules, so that means you know witches don't practice without my say," I begin. She nods with a questioning look.
"Well one of my best witches sensed something earlier. Someone entering the city, the thing is she didn't feel a vampire, it was like a type of magic, so obviously that brought me concern. Here is a new vampire entering my city, who happens to know Klaus and my witch can't sense her," I lean forward placing my elbows on my knees. Caroline tilts her head at me.
"So you think I'm some magic thing that convinced you and the rest of your friends that I'm a vampire? Honestly I'm flattered, but I'm going to have to disappoint you," she stands and walks close to me. She leans over the table next to me and closes the shades. Then she gives me a look takes off her daylight ring pulls back a small area of the shades and her hand burns. She lets out a hiss and quickly closes the shades then slips her ring back on. She then goes and sits back down on the bed.
"Completely vampire here, it seems that you missed someone in your city," she shrugs.
"You mean like the person in your bathroom?" I suggest. I was hoping to catch her off guard, but she just laughs.
"You mean Bon? Sorry I didn't introduce you, but she wasn't decent either. And she's human, Bon are you done in there?!" Caroline yells to the bathroom.
"Give me a second!" a voice calls back. After a brief pause the door opens revealing a slim light brown girl with green eyes and short dark hair wearing tight jeans and a loose t shirt.
"Care, who are they?" the girl asks.
"Bon this is Marcel and some of his friends, Marcel and friends this is Bon," Caroline introduces. "Is Bon short for something?" I ask her. The girl, Bon, walks and sits next to Caroline.
"Nope just Bon," she answers.
"What are you doing with a human in your bathroom?" I ask.
"We're traveling together, we only stopped by because I needed my Klaus fix," Caroline replies. The other girl looks to hold back a laugh, Caroline glares and nudges her.
"What is it?" I ask.
"Oh nothing. You should just see her when she goes too long without Klaus, it can be quite entertaining," Bon gives Caroline a look.
"Now as much as I wish that you want to hear more about my sex life, I'm guessing you have more to say," Caroline prods.
"You're a young vampire. Sure you may have a small connection with Klaus, but I know that doesn't get you much, just not being killed for now. So my question is, how does someone like you, get a daylight ring? Maybe you have more friends here than just Klaus and this human?" I suggest gesturing to the ring she had taken off earlier. Bon shifts uncomfortably for a moment. Caroline notices my watchful look and answers.
"Oh don't mind her, she just didn't like the guy. I got it from an ex," she swats her hand at Bon.
"The ex Klaus had a beef with?" I ask.
"Oh no I haven't been with him since the first days. I had a thing with a witch. He wasn't too prejudice against vampires, especially since I was sleeping with him. He was slightly creepy and just gave off this vibe, hence why Bon didn't like him, but god the sex was ah-ma-zing. He wanted to try this kinky public thing, me being vampire could only do it at night, but he wanted like daylight public park, so he made me a ring and we played out his little fantasy, I won't go into details of course," Caroline babbles slightly.
"You slept with a witch and got a daylight ring?" I question incredulously.
"It's not like it was just one time," she answers.
"Marcel," Jay pipes up from the door. I look over to him and he lifts up his phone slightly. It must be something with Davina or Klaus.
"It seems now I'm the one who has to go. I'll be sure to see you again," I stand and walk towards the door. Caroline stands and follows me. Chad and Jay exit into the hallway and Caroline grabs the door to hold it for me. As I step into the hall I turn back to Caroline.
"If I find that you have been lying to me or are in some way going against me, no one will be able to save you," I threaten. Caroline just smiles and leans her head against the door.
"You know just because I sleep with Klaus doesn't mean I'm on his side in this," she lifts her head back up and winks at me as she shuts the door.
Caroline POV
I close the door then turn around and lean against it.
"He's awfully suspicious, you can tell he was trained by Klaus, the same paranoia," I sigh.
"Care what was that? Why'd you say it didn't mean you were on Klaus' side?" Bonnie asks worriedly.
"Just throwing casual hints out there that way if I do try to get closer to him, it'll be believable," I respond standing up straight again. Bonnie gives me a look but doesn't say anything else.
"What was that about his witch sensing something?" I ask.
"I remember Grams telling me about witches who sense when things are coming. It's kind of like premonition, you get a sense of magic and feel things. But being able to feel who comes into the city and use it that way, that takes some power," Bonnie answers. Bonnie looks next to her and then nods.
"Kol said that it's Davina. Which makes sense because she absorbed the other girls powers and controls the covens magic. She gain the certain types the other girls practice and be influenced by the coven," she tells me.
"The question is what that is and why she couldn't sense me?" I wonder. Bonnie's silent for a moment.
"Kol has a theory that it's me. That I'm the force she felt because I'm the Anchor and she couldn't sense you because you came with me, so I overshadowed your vampirism," Bonnie relays. Fuck.
"Maybe we should go tell Klaus. You know warn him before anything else happens," I suggest.
"You mean like you trying to get close to Marcel?" Bonnie asks. I glare at her.
"I'm guessing we're being watched, checking where we go," I guess.
"Probably. We'll have to find a way to get out undetected or make sure we aren't followed to the Mikaelson's," Bonnie states.
"You don't have to come, I know it'd be uncomfortable," I tell her.
"I'll be fine. I want to be with you and Klaus has probably told the others by now, might as well give Kol the chance to annoy them too," she smiles lightly at me.
"Also Kol thinks he has an idea," she says.
