Three days after Hunter J was arrested, I decided that my research in Altomare wasn't going to give me anymore results after decoding the instructions for the Defense Mechanism of Altomare. We took to the first ship back to Cherrygrove, which took another day.

After arriving at Cherrygrove, Winter had Ace check if he could fix the malfunctioning systems in Winter's suit.

"Damn. Whatever hit you fried your HUD and coms beyond what I can repair without replacement parts, but everything else is working fine," Ace said after some tests.

"Well, that's just great," Chilly said. "Better head back to Camp Alpha to get the replacement parts. Ace you're driving the doctor, Tyler, and gunny, Blade you're driving the second hog with me, and Rocky in back on the mongoose." With that said, everyone loaded up into convoy before we headed back to Camp Alpha.

As we arrived, X-ray was heating up MREs for anyone. After we ate, Winter sent Blade to the portal with one member of X-ray to get some replacement part, including the ones for Winter's suit, before Tyler, Rose, and I decided to hit the hay.

The next morning, Omega Team, Tyler, Ryan and I left camp Alpha and started heading toward Blacktorn City. The drive took two days with the mad driver driving the lead 'hog and me, Tyler, and, surprisingly, Rose yelling at Winter to slow down before he gets us killed.

The reason why we came was because of a story that Tyler told me. The story was about the history of a field that had a shrine holds a flame that has been burning for centuries. Tyler learned about it when he was excused of trying to steal the flame.

When we arrived in front of Blacktorn City's gym, a blue-haired woman and old man, probably in his golden years, were outside of the gym. Tyler recognized the woman as Clair, the gym leader, and the man as one of the gym's assistants.

Clair noticed Tyler and asked, "Tyler, how is your Dratini?"

"She evolved four months ago and is doing very well. She at my house right now." Tyler said.

"Dang, I was hoping to have the rematch you promised me after our last match," the gym leader said.

"Well, it is about time for me to rotate my team and some of my current team has some of their reasons to go home." Tyler said.

"If you want to, you can use the video phone in the gym," Clair offered.

"Thanks and do you mind if use the battlefield for some training before our battle," he asked.

"Okay." Clair said, confused about Tyler's request.

"You mind if I watch. I haven't seen a Pokemon battle yet and, if I am right, your training would be very interesting to watch." I said, accidently scaring the trainer.

"Don't do creep up on me like that," he said.

Clair was surprised that I haven't seen a Pokemon battle and asked, "You haven't seen a Pokemon battle?"

"No, I am not from around here and I didn't know what Pokemon was until twelve days ago," I answered, which made Clair surprised.

"Doctor, save the women from further confusion and shut up," the gunny said.

"Tyler, who are these people?" the gym leader asked.

"Well, this Doctor Wheldon, he is a scientist doing research. The three in the black suits were assigned to protect the doctor, and the one that told Wheldon to shut up is former gunny sergeant that is helping with the other three's protection detail," Tyler explained. "If you ask were those three," Tyler said pointing at Omega Team, "and Wheldon are from, you will be even more confused and have even more questions."

Clair, who was still too surprised to speak, just nodded.

After Tyler did a phone call and exchanged Gardevoir, Gallade, Inferape, and Vaporeon for his Dragonair, Gyrados, and Frostlass and we left Rocky to guard the convoy, we headed trough the gym and to a battle arena that had a square pool in the middle of it and stands on either side of the field. "Clair, is there a way to cover the pool for a standard field?" Tyler asked.

"One moment, please," assistant said before he pressed a button that lowered the pool a bit and two metal door, with the top looking just like the rest of the field, slid out and covered the pool.

"Thanks," Tyler said before bringing out Lucario. "Lucario, ready to do some training?" The Aura Pokemon nodded and walked to one side of the field while Tyler put his bag down went to the other side before they turned around, bowed to each other, and took fighting stances.

Lucario fired an aura sphere at Tyler, who made a shield surrounding him made of aura to block the attack. As Tyler was waiting for the sphere to hit his shield, Lucario followed the sphere. As soon as the sphere hit the shield, Tyler dispelled it and saw Lucario charging at him with another aura sphere ready. Tyler responded by making his own aura sphere and he charged Lucario. Lucario fired his when they were close to hitting each other, but Tyler jumped over his Pokemon with a flip and fired his at Lucario when he was directly above the jackal-looking Pokemon.

Lucario was slammed into the ground as Tyler recovered from his flip. Lucario started to get up before Tyler offered him a hand. The Aura Pokemon took it.

"You want to continue?" the trainer asked and received a nod.

"Tyler, what are you doing?" Clair asked.

"Sparring," he answered.

"I can see that, but why?" the blue haired gym leader asked.

"Well, Lucario and I are practicing our aura by sparring." Tyler explained before he bowed to Lucario, who bowed back, and resumed the sparring secession.

Tyler fired two aura spheres at the same time at Lucario and charged at the Pokemon as a shield of aura surrounded the trainer, moving with him. Lucario readied an aura sphere and, at the least minute, jumped and fired the sphere at the ground, giving him more momentum. Tyler, unable to keep his shield up, dispelled the shield and fired a sphere toward the fighting/steel-type, who fired an aura sphere in response. The sphere collided and exploded. The explosion caused Lucario to fly into the wall behind him and fell to the ground.

Tyler went over to Lucario and gave him a hand before he said, "I think that is enough practice for now."

Lucario nodded in agreement before his legs fail to keep him up.

"Take it easy. You hit the wall pretty hard and the strength your put into those aura spheres took a good amount out of you." Tyler told his Aura Pokemon before taking out Lucario's Pokeball and Lucario shook his head in response. "Okay, but you're not battling." The Aura Pokemon nodded in understanding.

"Let me help you off the field," the gunny sergeant offered to weaken Pokemon, who took it.

As soon as Winter, Tyler's Lucario, Andrews, Ace, and I got in the stands and the pool was uncovered, Tyler asked, "Ready, Clair?"

"Ready when you are," she replied.

"Frostlass, come on out." Tyler said as he sent out a Pokemon that look like a nineteenth century Japanese maiden.

"Kingdra, I choose you." Clair said as she sent out a seahorse shaped Pokemon. "Kingdra agility." The water/dragon type charged at the Frostlass, but the Dragon Pokemon went straight through the Snow Land Pokemon, hit the end of the pool, and fell out of the pool. "Kingdra, use hydro pump to get back into water."

"Frostlass use ice beam to freeze the pool." Tyler ordered before Kingdra could react to Clair told her Pokemon. Frostlass started freezing the pool as Kingdra shot out a powerful stream of water at the wall behind Tyler. But, Instead of ending up in water, Kingdra landed on a pool with the surface covered in freshly made ice and slid across the ice.

"Frostlass, use ice beam, again, and follow it with blizzard." Tyler ordered.

"Kingdra, counter it with hydro pump." Clair said before both sides fired their attacks forming a ball of ice above the middle of the pool until both sides stopped their attack a few seconds later. Frostlass sent out a powerful blizzard at Kingdra, which Kingdra couldn't with stand the attack because the lack of water it could use until the ball of ice broke the ice on the surface of the pool.

"Now, use thunder bolt," Tyler said.

"Hydro pump one more time." Clair told her Pokemon.

Both attacks fired, passed though each other, and hit their targets. Kingdra could take the electrical bolt's power and fainted while Frostlass was still able to move, but was tiring out.

"Kingdra return." Clair called back as returned the fallen dragon before she said, "Now, Gyrados go." As a giant sea snake came into the mostly frozen pool. "Gyrados use flamethrower."

The sea serpent breathed fire at the ice-type and melted the ice while Frostlass was barely enduring the attack. After Gyrados ceased its attack, Frostlass was barely able to stay up.

"Frostlass, you did well. Return." Tyler said as he recalled his injured pokemon to its Pokeball. "How about I make this interesting?" he said confusing the gym leader. "Gyrados come on out."

"That's a strong-looking Gyrados you have there. But, can it defeat mine?" the blue haired women said.

"We'll know soon enough," he replied.
