"Come on, this way!"

Gumball and Fionna ran through the Candy Kingdom towards the bad side of town. That's where the arrow of the compass Gumball programmed to find Marshall told them that is.

Fiona huffed beside him as they took off towards the Candy Cavern. Her kinai blade strapped to her waist band bounced against her hip, giving her a little bit of courage. Whatever state they find Marshall in is bound to be either angry vamp mode or cocky vamp mode. Either or they had to act swiftly and quickly.

"He should be in here." Gumball mouthed. They wanted the element of surprise since Marshall Lee could most likely hear them if they spoke. Gumball held up three fingers and pointed at himself. Fionna nodded and watched as he counted down from three. Once his pointer finger went down, so did the doors. She sommersaulted into the room with her sword pointed promptly at Marshall Lee, who sat at the bar with a bottle in his hand. He didn't even look back at her, and that only made her want to help him and get this over with even more.

"You know, five hundred years ago, this vampire started this weird craze that spread throughout the vampire community. He'd get a bottle of beer, maybe even wine, and pour his victim's blood in it and mix both contents together. I tried it once, and to this day." He spun around in his seat and smirked at both of them. "I still can't get enough of it."

Fionna looked around the bar. At each table sat a dead candy person's body. Some were even as far as decapitated. She inhaled in horror, but held her ground. She didn't need him knowing that he frightened her when he was like this.

"Marshall Lee, you're sick. Just come back to the Candy Palace with me and PG and well help you." She said sternly.

"And what makes you so sure that I'd even want your help?" he asked after taking a swig of his drink.

"How can you be so arrogant and glib after you've killed so many people?"

"And how can you be so naive and stupid as to call the Vampire King arrogant and glib?"

"Marshall Lee, I'll put you down myself if you don't give yourself up willingly." Gumball threatened.

"Pinky, I don't like you. And frankly, no need to be gruff about it, but I never did. I know this honesty potion b.s. you and my girl over here tried to pull didn't work, but since we're all here, I might as well come clean." Marshall Lee stood up and shrugged.

"Can't you see we're trying to help you!?" Fionna shouted.

"And can't you see I don't need any help? Unless of course, you wouldn't mind offering up some of your human blood?"

"You can shove that little idea up you ass, because I'm done being nice. Marshall Lee, I love you, don't get me wrong, but I won't let you kill all these innocent candy folk."

"Nobodies innocent in this land. Everything, everyone, is nothing but innocent. And don't pull that love crap on me. I don't trust anybody because the only person I could ever count on is me!" Marshall Lee yelled.

"Marshall Lee..." Gumball warned as he pumped his raygun.

"Try me." The Vampire King hissed.

"I'm done playing nice!" Fionna shouted.

"Well come at me, bro!"

Fionna flipped in a sudden motion and kicked him square in the jaw. It didn't faze him bit. By the time the realization hit her, he'd grabbed her leg and slammed her on the ground. He brought her arm back behind her and bent it at an odd angle, causing her to cringe. He leaned down towards her ear and spoke sinisterly. "Those who ask get, blue. Next time, don't be so predictable."

Just as soon as he said this, Marshall Lee is shot at with lasers. He sighed irritably and stood up. He walked towards Gumball, letting the lasers hit him head on, and nodded as Gumball continued shooting. He shook his head and grabbed the gun, bent it in half, and tossed it aside. He grabbed Gumball by the collar and looks him dead in the eyes.

"You won't try that again, now will you?" He asked Gumball.

"No, I won't." Gumball breathed out. Fionna then put two and to together and realized that Marshall Lee was brainwashing him.

"Leave him alone!" She shouted as she stabbed him in the side. He froze in place, then reached for the kinai blade and pulled it out in one swift motion. He looked down at his shirt. Blood seeped through and he looked up at her. He ripped away the side of his shirt and revealed his wound. It healed as fast as it came."

"Dick move, blue. That comes with a price." He threw Gumball aside and grabbed her wrist. She struggled against his vampire strength. He used his other arm and snaked it around her waist. He pulled her closer to him and ran his fangs across her neck. He drew his head back and then sank his fangs into her skin.

Fionna had never felt more helpless in her lifetime. She groaned in pain as he sucked away at he life energy, her blood. "Marshall, please...stop." Fionna asked.

Gumball laid on the floor banged up from knocking his head against the table. His eyes drift to a close as he passed out.

"I...l-love you..." Fionna managed to croak as the last ounce of blood drained from her.

Marshall Lee's eyes snapped open. He looked down at the lifeless body of the last human in Aaa. The only girl he'd ever truly loved. He killed her.

#Candy Palace

Marshall Lee shot up on the the lab table and inhaled. He coughed and clutched his chest in pain.

"Mhmm. Well our work here is done." Gumball said snapping his notebook closed. Marshall Lee looked up at him confusedly. "Well now we know."

"*Cough* Know what?" Marshall asked.

"Why you were being so secretive. You need help, Marshall Lee. Something's pieced away from your personality and mind."

Marshall Lee looked up at Fionna in shock. "You...You drugged me?"

"Um...we...we had to Marshall. To get the truth." Fiona said guiltily. "You couldn't handle this by yourself. You needed help." She stood by his side and put a hand on his shoulder.

"What the hell!?" Marshall Lee shrugged her off. So it was a dream, but they did use truth potion on him. "You drugged me!"

"We had to, Marsh! We had to use the truth potion to-"

"So not only did you drug me, you drugged me to get the truth out of me?"

"You were being distant and I wanted to help you."

"Well you got the truth. Have fun trying to help someone who doesn't give a fuck about life anymore. The only girl I've ever loved just invaded my privacy." Marshall Lee growled.

"It's not like that Mar-" Fionna said with tears clouding her vision.

"Shut up! Just stop trying to explain yourself! You and gumprick over here can go to hell! I hope the answers you got were worth it, because I'm done playing nice! You know what? You and Ashley aren't so different after all. Both of you want to control every fucking thing!" Marshall Lee shouted. "Good luck!" and with that, he flew out the window into the night.

"Marshall!" Fionna sobbed running over to the window and calling out to him, but he was gone. "It's all my fault, Gumball. I always screw things up between us! I...It's not worth it!"

"Fionna, calm down. Raging emotions are just a side effect from the-"

"I DON'T GIVE A FLUB ABOUT SOME DUMB SIDE EFFECT!"

Gumball was taken aback by her outburst, but remorse crossed her fragile figures immediately. "I-I'm sorry PG. I'm just-"

"Upset?" Gumball asked.

"Yes, upset."

"Well no worries, tomorrow he'll be his normal, mischievous self. At least now we know what's wrong."

"Yeah, okay." Fionna said wiping away her tears. She stood up and went over to the door. "Night, Peebles."

"Goodnight Fionna." Gumball said to her as she left the castle.

Anyone else feel sorry for Fionna and Marshall Lee right now? Well don't worry, the next chapter when they try to make up will patch things up better. But the very next chapter will be about what the asked and why he answered.
