Chapter 11

Time literally felt as though it had stopped. All of us were staring at one another in complete shock, looks of complete horror on our faces. Before anyone could move, Jeff was up and running.

"Ben, you get back to that damn mansion now and see what happens! Once we get settled I will get you to come and report. We have to leave. Now."

Ben nodded, opening the laptop back up and crawling inside. I was paralyzed on the couch, not knowing what to do. What to think. Other than the fact that I could die soon. Along with Jeff… no. I didn't even want to believe that. I slowly stood up, walking to my room. Jeff had our bags in hand, giving some to me. Thank god we were already ready to go… otherwise, it would have taken a lot longer. I started towards the door, picking up my laptop, before he stopped me.

"Wait," he whispered, turning me around.

I faced him, seeing the fear in his eyes. Something I never thought I would ever see.

"Yes?" I whispered.

"I'm not going to let anything hurt you. I promise… I'm not leaving your side again."

"Jeff, you are going to need to kill," I replied, knowing the dangers of that as well.

"I don't give a damn. I will endure it… I just couldn't bare the thought of me going out to go kill people, just to return home and see you dead. Knowing that I was out, not protecting you… and allowing someone to get to you…"

"Ben could watch over me while you're gone," I offered.

He was already shaking his head. "For one, he wouldn't do that. Two, he would be in no position to go against Slenderman and try to fight him. I only trust myself to protect you, and that is exactly what I am going to do."

I smiled at him, slightly. I walked forward, standing on my tip toes. I planted a kiss on his lips, feeling him smile beneath them.

"Come on. Let's get going," I said, pulling back.

He nodded, following me out of the door. Goodbye old apartment… goodbye old life. We walked to my car, paranoia seeping over me as I stared around. Slenderman wouldn't be there this quickly… Jumping inside, I started the engine, zipping down the street after Jeff got in beside me. All our bags were pushed in the back, my headlights the only thing we were able to see in the darkness. I took one hand off of the wheel, gripping Jeff's. He reassuringly squeezed it, offering some comfort.

All we had to do now was figure out where to go.

Ben's Point of View

My nerves were all over the place as I reentered my room. Taking a deep breath, I walked out of my room and down stairs. I guessed Jane wasn't back yet. Every one was doing there own thing, including Slenderman. He appeared to be talking to Masky about some other mission…

Just as I got down the staircase, Jane burst through the door. Everyone's heads snapped up in surprise as the door slammed against the wall. I bit my lip, worried about what was to come. I didn't want Jeff to get hurt because of all of this… he was my friend after all. And if he wanted a fucking girlfriend… well, that's his choice. She's cool enough in my opinion. A lot cooler than this psycho bitch.

"What got your panties in a twist," I mumbled, already knowing the answer. Better get it over with.

"JEFF!" she screeched, pulling at her hair in frustration.

Laughing Jack burst into laughter. "And here I thought the cops were after you or something," he roared, leaning his head back on the couch.

"Jane, I believe I already told you once that he was no good for you. There are plenty of other pastas in this house hold who I'm sure would be happy to be with you."

I snickered when I saw Slender's head turn to Hoodie. Typical.

"And I also believe I told you that them feelings ain't mutual, sweet cheeks," I chuckled. "Just leave the killer alone, already. Go out and kill something or go sulk in your room. Or give Hoodie a damn lap dance or something, we all know he's aching for one," I sneered. Keep avoiding…

Hoodie's head hung as he walked out of the room. Heh.

"You don't fucking understand!" she screamed, furiously shaking her head. "He was with some girl!"

"Probably killing the girl," I rolled my black eyes.

"No he wasn't," she growled.

"Possibly he was going to take advantage of her before he killed her?" I questioned.

"No. She was returning everything. Slenderman, Jeff is messing with a human girl!" she yelled, causing me to flinch. Fuck life.

Slenderman was in front of her so quickly that I didn't even really see. "WHAT?" he yelled, enraged.

"Chill out, Slends. Janie is only jealous Jeff was getting some action from someone that wasn't her," I snickered.

"Why are you taking up for him, Benjamin?" Slenderman hissed, his nonexistent eyes glaring into mine.

I just shrugged. "I just don't like the bitch," I replied, snarky laughter escaping my lips. "And she's more than likely making a big deal out of nothing. I mean, come on. You think Jeff the Killer would do that?" I scoffed.

"Ben, shut the fuck up! They were in her bed, making out! She ripped his shirt off; he protected her! He tried to kill me, protecting her! For gods sake, he is with a human girl!"

The room fell silent.

"Oh shit," I heard EJ mumble under his breath.

Slenderman's tentacles began to quiver with rage. "Where is he?" he growled, his voice low and demonic.

"He's probably long gone now with the bitch," Jane growled, her knife shaking at her side.

"Everyone just calm down," I started, holding my hands up. "Slends, you have no idea if it is true or not. Plus, who cares if it was? Let the man do what he wants," he coaxed.

"Benjamin, if I am not mistaken it seems as though you are in on this! You have never taken the liberty to take up for anyone, let alone Jeffrey."

"I just don't like to see ignorance," I replied with a smirk.

"You know the dangers of the human race finding out about our existence. The myths are wonderful, to inflict fear. But what do you think would happen if the entire world knew it was true?"

I pursed my lips. "And you think one little human has the power to spread the word so much?" I heard smile dog bark when I used his quote, a low chuckle escaping my lips. "Plus, even if she did try, she'd end up locked in a loony bin! Or dead; Jeff would probably kill her. He can't control himself, you all know that. He isn't capable of love."

"Either way, those are the rules. I am going to find Jeffrey, and see if this is all true. And if it is… have mercy on his soul."

With that, Slenderman stalked out of the mansion, Jane on his heels.

Well, shit.
