Under the Snow

It was soft. It was good. He loved it since the first time. He loved his taste. He had ever loved chocolate and every time he tasted it, he knew he would love it forever. He would never be able to live without it, as well as Flan and Crepes.

"Can someone explain me why you're eating ice cream on winter?" A voice asked.

"Ice cream can be eaten no matter the season." Lion answered.

In front of him, one of his student comrade sighed while Asbel chuckled. Lion looked at his dessert, and wondered if he could eat the few that rest in one swallow. It would be a shame not to savor the ice cream.

The student, who was with Asbel and him, was a brown haired student. Lion didn't know him. It was one of Asbel's comrades and, if he understood well, they had to do a lecture together. Yet, they weren't doing it right now. Lion didn't understand why Asbel had taken him with him then.

"Why are we here, by the way?" The student asked.

"What do you mean?" Asbel answered. "You were the one who followed me."

Lion prevented a smile and finished his ice cream, while the student left the café angrily.

"What's the matter with him?" Asbel asked.

His best friend shrugged. Probably that he didn't like the fact that he had come for nothing. But he didn't care as it wasn't his friend and would never be.

The two students finished their ice-cream quietly. Outside, it was raining and they heard that later in the week, it would probably snow. Lion disliked snow; for him, it was something annoying and cold, and every time, he slipped and fell. Actually, "dislike" wasn't a word strong enough. He hated snow.

"Ah, Lion, I'll do a party for my birthday. Do you want to come?"

Lion frowned before asking:

"Since when do you ask me if I want to come? I always come."

"Yes but…" Asbel hesitated. "This time, Yuri will be here…"

"And? What's the problem?"

"Well, if I do remember well, the two of you have to talk about…Well, you know."

The black haired boy looked at his best friend, a little bit confused. What did Asbel mean? He didn't have to talk with Yuri, did he? He didn't remember.

"What are you talking about?"

"Well…If yes or no you're going to be his boyfriend…?"

Lion opened his mouth but closed it quickly. He didn't tell Asbel. He totally forgot about it. He sighed and finally answered:

"We already talked about it."

"Eh!? When!?"

"Two days ago."

"And…?"

That wasn't something easy to say, but it was Asbel, so he knew that would be fine, right? Yet, it was the first time and he wasn't sure of the way he had to announce that.

"Well… We're… together?"

Asbel's face was really fun to see.

"Seriously!?" His best friend exclaimed, shocked.

Lion looked around, hoping that nobody were looking at them. But fortunately, the few people who were here weren't paying attention.

"Yes."

Asbel opened his mouth, closed it, opened it again and closed it. He looked like a fish right now and Lion couldn't help but smile. Finally, Asbel exclaimed:

"I'm so happy! So there is no problem with Yuri and you being in the same room anymore! It will be easier! Can I tell Richard?"

"If you promise me that he won't annoy me with that, yes."

Asbel nodded and Lion finished his soda glasses before taking his bag and standing up.

"I'm going to the fencing training."

"Good luck…I'll text you for the party."

"Okay!"

Then, after a last smile to his best friend, he left the café, ready to sweat because of the training.

The training had been intense and now Lion only dreamt about his bed. But first he had to eat and for that, he knew where he went. A smile on his lips, and after bidding a good bye to his comrades, he left them and made his way towards the restaurant where Yuri worked.

Inside, there was a few people already eating. Lion took a sit close to the window and chose a curry with a Flan as dessert. The waitress went to the kitchen to tell his order and he had to wait fifteen minutes before seeing Yuri leaving the kitchen and holding his plate. Lion frowned but smiled nevertheless, before asking:

"I didn't know that chef brought the orders now."

"For an unknown reason, the chef only does it for you." Yuri smiled and put his order in front of him, before continuing. "I'm really surprised that you didn't take crepes."

The younger boy swallowed his spoon of curry before replying:

"I love Flan more than crepes." Then, saying Yuri's brows furrowed, he added: "I love sweets, and crepes are second in my top five. Flan is first."

Yuri rubbed his neck and only said:

"We're lost."

"Huh?"

"We're going to fight for the one who will eat the last sweet."

"Are you telling me that Flan is first in your top too?"

"No, I'm telling you that I also have sweet tooth."

Lion laughed at Yuri's last comment before continuing to eat his curry. Yuri patted his head, making him frown, and told him not to wait for him as he would finish really late. The young boy nodded and ate what he had ordered. As always, Yuri's cooking was marvelous. If only he could eat his cooking every day…!

When he finished, he paid, trying to catch, with his eyes, Yuri in the kitchen, and left the restaurant. Finally outside, he took his phone and, with a little blush, he typed quickly and sent the text to Yuri. Then, he ran till his house, happy.

X

For the umpteenth time, Lion ranted. The next day of Asbel asking him to come for his birthday party, it started snowing. And now, he had to go to Asbel's house, walking in the snow. He hated it so much…! He already fell a lot of time and he wasn't sure he would arrive alive. That's really for you I come, Asbel! Okay, for Yuri too, but you don't need to know.

Deep in his thought, he fell again. Angry, he stayed here. He was cold because of the snow but he didn't care. He didn't want continuing. He wanted coming back at home. Yes, it was the best idea. Which excuse could he use for Asbel? 'I caught a cold'? No, he wouldn't believe it. 'I fell on the snow for umpteenth time, I gave up, leave me alone!'. So much him, but Asbel would come and take him no matter what.

Why did he have refused Yuri's proposition? "Do you want to go in car? I can take you, and it will be easier." And what was his answer? "Nope. I can go like a big child. By the way, you'll go after work, don't do a detour, idiot!" Who was the idiot, now? He was too stubborn for his own sake!

Lion sighted. His bottom was getting really cold. It would be a good idea to stand up, yet he didn't want. He would fall again. But the young boy didn't want to send a text, because he knew that Yuri would grin at this. He hated snow.

Finally, not having the courage to stand up – he would be late for Asbel's party but it wasn't a problem as Asbel would know why – he lied down the snow and closed his eyes. He would catch a cold but for now he didn't care. He hated snow, yet, he liked lying down it. Wasn't he strange?

"I understand now why you wanted to come alone." A well known voice stated.

Fuck. Lion opened his eyes. Why was he there!? Shouldn't he be at Asbel's house already!?

"Have fun?"

"Why are you here?"

"Yeah, glad to see you too." Yuri said, jaded.

Lion pouted and sat down, looking at his boyfriend. He tried his best not to blush. How could Yuri be so beautiful with a bobble hat? He sighed and stood up, but at the very moment he did it, Yuri came close to him and kissed him quickly on the lips.

"Your nose is cold." Yuri stated.

"If you're not happy, don't kiss me then."

"Don't pout."

"I'm not pouting!"

The older man laughed and Lion pouted, making him laugh more. He turned his head not to face him but the long haired man forced him to do so. He looked straight in his eyes before kissing him again and whispering:

"You're cute when you pout."

"I told you I'm not po—"

"Yeah yeah, I know. We should go before they wonder what we do."

Yuri had a grin on his lips, telling exactly what he was thinking about the "what we do". But Lion decided not to answer and started to walk, trying his best not to fall. Why did Yuri come? He didn't want to show him that he wasn't able to walk properly on the snow. He would be so ashamed…!

Something cold appeared on his back and he startled before turning back to Yuri. The man had a smirk and was holding a snow ball in his hand.

"Yuri…!"

"You're in bad mood for your best friend birthday, my poor little boy."

"I'm not little!"

A little bit angry, he made a snow ball and threw it to Yuri. Unfortunately for him, he missed the long haired man who laughed at this.

"Too bad."

And then, Yuri threw another ball to Lion who tried his best to avoid it. Began a snow ball attack between the two people, where everything – but being violent – was accepted. Lion received a lot of snow balls and was proud every time he touched Yuri. He even threw a ball on his face that stunned the poor long black haired man for a while.

After this, Lion found himself lying on the snow, Yuri above him, smiling. And without any warning, the older kissed the younger. And for the first time of the day – and even years - , Lion liked snow. For once, he forgot that it was annoying and that he couldn't help but fall every time. For once, he enjoyed it, thanks to Yuri.

"We should go…" Lion said between two kisses.

"Hm… Yeah…"

But Yuri didn't seem wanting to leave. Lion could understand him; if it wasn't for Asbel, he would stay here, on the snow, with his boyfriend. His mood was really strange when he was near Yuri. 'Love' seemed a good reason for that, but Lion wasn't Richard, and he wouldn't confess it.

The men stood up reluctantly – Lion didn't want to leave- and hand in hand, they headed to Asbel's house. He didn't know if it was because he didn't pay attention, or because he was holding Yuri's hand, but Lion didn't fall. Good thing.

When they arrived at Asbel's house, and when the red haired man opened the door, his eyes opened wide and he exclaimed:

"Lion, Yuri! We were wondering where you were!"

"Sorry." Lion answered, avoiding looking at Richard's smirk behind him.

"You're wet…" Richard stated and Asbel tilted his head.

"He's right. What happened?"

"Nothing important."

"Snow balls."

Lion sighed as Yuri explained in two words what happened. In front of them, Asbel and Richard were shocked.

"You… What!? Even you, Lion!?"

"Yeah yeah…"

"That's… Incredible."

Richard's smirk grew bigger as Yuri was asking why he was so astonished. But when Asbel wanted answering, Lion walked on his foot and he understood he should shut up if he didn't want to die.

"Okay so hum…" He started. "Lion, I have some clothes of yours in my room. You can change them, right. As for you, Yuri… I'm sorry, I don't think that I have something you can wear."

"Don't worry for me. I'm not going to die because of that."

Lion frowned, ready to reply something like 'You're not invincible' but he said nothing and took the way to Asbel's room without a word. When he entered the room, he came near the wardrobe and took the trousers he had left months ago, before Rutee and Stan had left. It wasn't the best trousers – and especially not the more beautiful! – ,but he wouldn't complain.

The young boy left the room and headed towards the bathroom. He didn't lock the door as nobody would come here. And even if someone came, it would only be Asbel, and his best friend already saw him in underwear many times. Lion frowned when he remembered these days. Asbel had a tendency to enter the bathroom when he was inside months ago, but lately, he didn't. Since when…? Maybe it was around the beginning of his relationship with Richard? If Lion hadn't known Asbel, he would have thought that Asbel entered the bathroom in purpose. He chuckled at this mere thought. It was a stupid thought. Asbel didn't enter the bathroom in purpose, it was nonsense.

While putting his trousers – fortunately, he only needed to change that – the door were opened and he only had time to turn his face to meet Yuri's eyes, before the older man hugged him and, without any word, kissed him. A first, Lion wondered what happened but then, forgot it and kissed him back. He opened a little bit his eyes when he remembered where they were, but Yuri's tongue played with his and he totally forgot about everything.

When they finally stopped, the two people panted, still hugging each other. Lion was the one who broke the silence.

"This sudden action, it happens often with you?" He asked, with a little smile, not angry at all.

"Only when bad little boy tell me that it is time to leave without letting me to finish." Yuri smirked.

"I don't know what you mean."

"You do."

Lion pulled a face and, softly, he whispered:

"I wish we can stay here a little bit more…"

He blushed when he noticed what he had said and tried to explain, but Yuri put a finger on his lips.

"They can wait a little bit longer, huh?" He said, locking the door of the bathroom.
