A/N: There are two parts to this chapter. This is part I. Part II will be posted soon.
The next three months started to become more hectic. Semi-Finals were coming up and that meant extra rehearsal aka less sleep/Chloe time for Beca. The girl was becoming overloaded on mid-terms and exams, making her stress levels higher. Beca rarely saw Chloe unless they were going to sleep or at Bellas rehearsal. Ever since the new year started, Beca has been working on her next album, that she has yet to tell anybody. But Beca made a schedule plan: daylight - classes, bella practice. Nighttime - studio work, study for finals. Most days now, Beca would get a maximum of 20 minutes of sleep, and have a bottle of water to fill her up for the next few days. Chloe would send her text messages, telling the girl to eat, but Beca would refuse saying she didn't have time. So, Chloe would wait until she got home, and feed her - much to Beca's guilt, but not that she didn't appreciate it. Chloe would never admit it, but she felt very neglected. But she wasn't going to tell Beca that - she doesn't want to be another problem in the girl's life.
"I think you should tell her." Aubrey says.
"Totally Bree, I'll just go up to her and say 'Gee, Bec. We barely spend anymore time together. Do you mind if you can drop all your work for now for me? Thanks!" Chloe states sarcastically, something she picked up from Beca - much to Aubrey's annoyance.
"Oh, god. You're starting to act like her. I can't have two pain in my asses." Aubrey rubs her forehead, earning a slap on her shoulder from the ginger.
"Okay, okay. But seriously, you should just talk to her. I'm not saying, you should say what you just told me, but try to get her to understand how you feel. She said all she wants to do is make you happy. So... just go for it. You're not gonna get anywhere if you just si-"
Aubrey stopped mid-sentence, when she heard a door close. She looked at the time on the cable box, 2:58 am. She groaned, standing from the couch.
"Now's your moment. Just talk to her. I'm going to bed, Chlo. Night."
"Night, thanks Bree."
"Anytime, babe." Aubrey says going to her bedroom. The connecting door from 12B opens, and Beca's head pokes out. She walks over to Chloe and kneels in front of the girl.
"You wanna go to bed?" Beca whispers.
"You haven't eaten." Chloe gives a worried look, noticing the dark circles under Beca's eyes, the paleness, and the loss in weight.
"I'm fine to skip a meal, babe." Beca says, pulling Chloe off the couch. Before Beca can turn around, Chloe tightly wraps her arm around Beca's neck, scared to let go. Beca doesn't say a word, she wraps her arms around the girl's waist.
"I- I'm sorry." Chloe whispers into Beca's hair. Beca pulls away looking into the girl's eyes. She intertwines their fingers, and walks Chloe to her room, locking the door behind them.
"What are you sorry for?" Beca asks, as the two sit on her bed.
"I'm not being a good girlfr-" Before Chloe could finish her sentence, Beca presses her lips to the girl's.
"Don't you dare finish that sentence, Chloe Beale. You are anything and everything but a bad girlfriend. I can't believe you think otherwise. Baby, tell me what's wrong? Please?" Beca says, on her knees in front of the redhead.
"Becs, ever since New Years, we haven't been able to spend anytime together. You're always at classes, or working. And when you're not, you're studying, or we're at Bella's practice. And it's not like we spend time together, cause if we are, most of the times I'm asleep on your bed while you're up studying. I'm not saying you're doing anything wrong. It's just that, life's getting in the way. I just- I miss you." Chloe's eyes focused on her lap.
"Hey, listen to me." Beca starts, sitting in between Chloe's legs. "You shouldn't be sorry. If anyone's sorry here it's me. I do miss you, so much. I've just been so caught up in everything, I haven't been focusing on our relationship. And that isn't fair to you. How about this? Considering tomorrow's Saturday, so I don't have any classes. I'll clear my work schedule. We'll spend the entire day together. Do whatever you want-"
"No." Chloe says, barely audible but Beca still manages to hear.
"No? What do you mean no?"
"You're clearing your work schedule for me. You're taking a day off so we can spend time together. I'm getting in the way. I don't want to burden you from your work or school. Baby, I don't wanna be the one to beg for attention from you. I'm grateful to even be with you. Don't do that. It's not necessary." Chloe trails off. Beca sighs, standing up. Chloe thinks she won the conversation. Her and Chloe lay on the bed, and Chloe faces her back from the brunette. Beca brings her arm around the girl, and pulls her closer.
"I love you, beautiful." Beca whispers, kissing Chloe's neck.
"I love you too, baby." Chloe says, both girls trailing off to sleep.
Chloe woke up to an empty bed, sighing. Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. Aubrey comes through, and Chloe sits up on the bed.
"So, did you talk to her?" The blonde asks.
"Yeah."
"And?"
"She said she was gonna take today off for me, but I told her not to." Chloe says, sadly.
"What?! Chloe, you need to get your head out of your ass for once. You got what you wanted but gave it up. Why?"
"Cause, Bree. She was clearing her entire day for me. As much as I love it, I don't want to be in between her and her career." Chloe runs a hand through her hair.
Aubrey shakes her head, "Gosh, Chlo. You're so stubborn, sometimes. Listen, I'm spending my day with Jesse. Call me if you need anything, alright?"
"Okay, I'll see you later." Chloe says, watching the blonde leave the room. The girl got off the bed, and headed to the bathroom. She heard the fridge open, and assumed Stacie was there. Once she was done in the bathroom, she entered the kitchen and saw a very short brunette cooking breakfast. It was then when Chloe noticed the set up in the living room and kitchen. A bunch of old Disney movies were sprawled out on the couch, and red roses were sprinkled throughout the carpet floor. The girl noticed the bouquet of flowers on the floor, a few feet away from where she was standing and picked them up. There was a note inside.
I know you didn't want me to take the day off, but I'd rather be here with you than in a small room crowded with a bunch of people I barely know. I love you more than anything, and you're worth all the time in the world. I'm sorry I wasn't there before, but I am and always will be now. Just don't be afraid to talk to me. Now stop reading this stupid note and come give your girlfriend a kiss. -bm
Chloe smiled brightly, setting the note and flowers on the island, and going around to give the brunette a big hug and kiss.
"Well good morning to you too." Beca chuckles.
"You don't know how much I love you." Chloe whispers. The redhead wraps her arms around her girlfriend's neck, smothering the girl in kisses.
"Chlo- Chlo. Baby- The french toast is gonna burn." Beca says, trying to save the toast.
Chloe pulls away a little to look at the pan. "You make french toast with a pan?"
"When we get married, I need to teach you how to cook." Beca shakes her head. Suddenly the girl tenses up, scared of Chloe's reaction to what she just said. The redhead became mute. Beca tried to save herself from the situation.
"I- I mean, you know. That's i- if we have a future together. I didn'-" Beca sighs, frustrated with her lack of vocabulary at the moment, only causing Chloe to giggle.
"Your proposal better be romantic." Chloe whispers, making Beca grin. The smile immediately falls when she thinks about something.
"Wait, what if I'm not the one to propose?"
"You want me to propose?" Chloe giggles.
"Actually, now that I think about it. No. I wanna propose to you, I want to plan it, and make it the best day of your life, or anything close to best."
"Baby, your best will always be perfect to me." Chloe says.
"So cheesy, babe. YOU'RE cheesy, and obnoxious, and corny, and cliché with your relationshippy sayings, and so silly, and-"
"Okay! Okay! I've heard enough." Chloe covers Beca's mouth, making the two laugh.
"But my point to that is, no matter how cheesy, and corny you are, you're still the most beautiful, amazing girl and I love everything - all your tacky jokes, your embarrassing photos - all of it, everything you do makes me love you more and more each day." Beca finishes making breakfast, turning off the stove.
"And you say I'm cliché and cheesy." Chloe plants a big kiss on Beca's cheek.
Beca and Chloe brought the food to the coffee table at the living room and the two watched Spongebob while the daylight showered throughout the room. Chloe was about to give Beca a piece of bacon when unexpectedly putting it into her mouth, Beca pouted. Chloe giggled at how adorable she was, taking her phone out, and taking a picture of them together. Chloe was on Beca's lap, just how they always eat breakfast and Chloe was looking down at the pouting girl. Beca couldn't contain her smile, she took Chloe's phone and two shared a kiss, which Beca managed to sneak a picture of.
"I'm posting these." Chloe says. Making the collage of those two photos. She captions the picture: Sponebob reruns and breakfast made by this beautiful lady? It feels like it's been forever. Can't ask for a better day. xx
"Post the same pic for me please?" Beca says giving Chloe a bite of the french toast. Chloe nods.
"What do you want it to say?" The ginger asks.
Beca takes the phone, typing: Don't deserve to be with her. Can't wait to tell you my surprise. xx. Chloe reads the captions.
"Surprise? What surprise?"
"You know, Instagram famous is probably the weirdest form of famous." Beca nonchalantly says.
"Babe, don't act like you're deaf. Answer the question." Chloe sternly says.
"Damn, you literally just sounded exactly like Aubrey." Beca puts the plate on the table muting the tv. Chloe moves to straddle the girl, Beca pulling her body closer.
"So you know how I've been gone all this time in the studio, which I apologize for. I never meant to neglect our relationship."
"Becs, it's fine." Chloe smiles, urging her to continue.
"Okay. So, uh, the reason I've been gone is cause I'm working on a new album. No one knows about it, not even Jesse. And I want you to sing in some of my songs. It's a different feel to my normal music, it's not all electro, dub step, yeah I have that in there, but it's not what it's all about. This albums was inspired because of you, and it won't be perfect if you're not in it." Beca says.
Saying Chloe was shocked was an understatement. Chloe was amazed, and speechless. She felt like she was going to have a heart attack.
"You're serious?" Chloe manages to breathe out.
"Y-yeah?" Beca thought she was clear. Unexpectedly, Chloe started squealing, Beca's smile reforming. Chloe pulled Beca in for a kiss, but pulled her to where she was laying on her back and Beca was on top of her. In several minutes, Chloe flipped their position, going on top of Beca. The two stared at each other for a long while. Laying in the comfortable silence.
"Am I allowed to tell anyone?" Chloe asks.
"Nope." Beca shakes her head.
"Not even Aubrey?"
"Not even Aubrey."
"Don't make that face, Chlo. I'm not giving in." Beca states the second she sees Chloe pouting.
"Pleaseeeee." Chloe whined. After several minutes of pouting and begging, the brunette sighed in defeat.
"I spoil you way too much." Beca shakes her head. Chloe jumps off Beca, taking some of the dishes and bringing it to the kitchen. Beca follows Chloe's actions. As the two finish, Chloe sits on the counter, pulling Beca between her legs. Their lips meet, colliding into one. Chloe wraps her arms around Beca's neck. Soon, Beca picks the girl up from the back of her thighs and Chloe's legs wrap around the girl's waist. Beca carries her off to the bedroom, all their clothes leaving their bodies along the way.
