Sonny took her time turning the corner to her bedroom. She was going to be so humiliated to see Chad's face when he saw her display of pictures. The word 'Stalker' must be echoing through his mind.

She peeked around the corner. She expected to see him gawking in disturbed silence; instead, he was on the floor shuffling through the photos. She walked in and looked down at him. He looked up and smiled "Almost as impressive as my collection."

Sonny smiled and took a seat next to him. "Why am I not surprised you have a collection of CDC photos" She moved a few around.

"Not of me."

She stopped and looked up. He was holding her gaze and his mouth formed a soft smile. "Of you."

Sonny's thoughts froze. "What?"

Chad slid to sit by her, but didn't answer the question.

"See this one." He slid an old photo close.

Sonny felt the warmth of his presence. She bit back a huge smile and blushed. She was thankful he was busy looking at the photos.

"This was my first commercial shoot. I was so nervous I threw up." He laughed

She was entertained by his frightened expression.

"This was my house in Texas."

Sonny watched him slide over another. The fields were warm and inviting.

"We had a creek in the back that my best friends and I use to go swimming in."

"You must miss those hills."

He looked up as Sonny picked up another photo. He smiled. "Sometimes."

Chad glanced down at another photo and laughed. "Charlie is always getting into something."

"Charlie?"

He handed her the picture.

Sonny chuckled. Chad was holding his two year old brother above his head while standing in the river. "Looks like your the one causing trouble."

"He sneaked into the river and saw a snake. He freaked out."

"And Chad Dylan Cooper saves the day hugh?" She gave him a shove.

"You know how I am" He gave her a smile and a flirtatious wink.

It brought out the blush he loved to see.

He looked down at a separate photo. "Chelsea"

She tried to trace Chad's gaze to see the girl she was searching for.

Chad noticed and grinned at her. "What are you doing?"

"Nothing."

"Did you ever meet her?"

"No"

He lifted a picture and tossed it to Sonny. "She's my little sister. She drives me crazy sometimes, but she's a sweetie for the most part."

Sonny smiled. Chad was about 11 carrying an adorable 3 year old little girl on his back. Her little face shined with delight.

"She looks like she really likes you."

"yeah, I'm pretty likable." He leaned back on his arms and stretched out his legs beside the photos.

Sonny looked over at him. He was just looking at her with a soft expression. She turned back to the photos trying not to blush.

Chad grinned- enchanted by her bashful moment. There weren't many of those from Sonny Monroe.

He looked back to the collage. He sighed. "Sometimes I do miss those days. Life was simpler and no one cared that I was Chad Dylan Cooper."

She looked at his solemn expression and her heart softened. He was being very open and honest.

" You know the feeling you get when your..." He looked at all of the pictures. "Just home?"

She missed that too "Yeah"

He was quiet and hesitant. It drew her attention. "What is it Chad?"

He looked at her, suddenly feeling vulnerable himself. "That's what I feel like when I'm with you."

Sonny felt a warm smile form. She didn't know what to say as she watched him return the expression.

"That bird gave me some interesting information Chad"

He smiled "Did he now?"

She nodded slyly.

He sat up and slid closer to her. "What did he say?"

She felt flush again. "He said I was cute."

Chad smiled. "He has pretty good taste."

Her heart was so light, but she still felt insecure.

"Do you really think that?"

He lowered a brow. "Of course I do."

He noticed that she was unknowingly eying the photos of him at the Hollywood events.

He grabbed one and pulled it over. "You see this picture." He leaned in to show her.

"Yeah" She tried to ignore her butterflies.

"This is my producer's niece. See that look in her eyes?"

"Uh, I guess."

"That is called obsession."

She laughed.

"And you see these eyes?" How could she miss them. "That is called a plea for help."

Sonny laughed, now fully able to see the expression. She was feeling much more comfortable in his presence.

She grabbed a photo "And this one?"

"Didn't even speak English." He rolled his eyes.

"Really?"

"Yep. It was a publicity thing I think. I took her to a movie afterwards. She had no idea what they were saying but the paparazzi were there so we just smiled and nodded at each other the whole time."

He demonstrated and Sonny burst into laughter. "These sound like some great dates."

"Oh this one was the best." He pulled over another. "This girl had to pluck her eyebrows in the limousine."

"No way!"

Chad laughed "Seriously. She made me hold the tweezers."

Sonny shook her head in disbelief. She started looking through the photos again. Looking for another girl.

Chad smiled as he watched her. He took a breath.

"You know what I was thinking on all of these dates?"

"I wish she wasn't a nutcase?" She didn't stop shuffling.

"No"

She heard his serious tone, paused, and met his blue eyes.

"I wish she was Sonny"

She widened her eyes.

He gave her a soft smile and whispered.

"Especially the one with the uni-brow." Chad crossed his eyes as he demonstrated where it would be.

Sonny laughed.

She started to scoop up her photos. "You're not totally freaked out that I have these?"

Chad smiled

"No. I'm totally flattered... But, my collection of your photos is a little more impressive." He sat back arrogantly.

"Whatever!" She shoved him.

He turned back to her still holding his cocky grin.

She smiled softly and it caused Chad to tilt his head in curiousity.

"I like you Chad."

He felt his heart skip a beat. He thought no girl could ever hold his heart in the palm of her hand like Sonny did.

He reached over and pushed back a lock of her beautiful brown hair.

He smiled "I like you too Sonny."

"Squawk, Sonny loves Chad, Squawk, Sonny loves Chad."

The pair looked over at the pet.

Chad smiled "That bird's got a big mouth."

Sonny grinned. "Yeah, but he usually knows what he's talking about."

There was a soft moment of sweet silence. They both wanted to savor every moment of this time they had wasted.

"Squawk, Chad's a jerk. Squawk, Chad's a jerk."

Chad shot around to see the bird. He slowly turned back and lifted a brow.

She laughed nervously "Tawni says the darndest things!"

Chad shook his head but couldn't hold back the smile. .

"You know you love me" Sonny smiled at him.

He looked up in thought then back down at her smirking eyes.

He smiled. "Don't push it."

Sonny laughed and slid her hand into his.

He lifted it "Start on that homework?"

"What homework?" She was a little out of it.

Chad smiled as Sonny realized what he was talking about. He stood and brought her to her feet.

"Don't tell anyone you've got me wrapped around your finger." He smiled as he slid her fingers in between his own.

"I promise." She smiled.

"Stay for dinner?"

"Love to." He gave her hand a squeeze, so glad he could stop hiding behind humor and sly comments, and finally be with the girl of his dreams.

Connie called."Sonny?"

"Oops. Let's go."

Chad smiled and Sonny gave him a flirtatious wink before dragging him off.

"Squawk, don't forget to feed the bird, Don't to feed the bird."

There was only silence.

"squawk Fire!, Fire! "

Frantic noises rose from the living room, and after a few screams the door slammed behind them.

"Squawk, Peace out suckers! Squawk"
