CHAPTER 9: Love or Lost? (PART 2)
-SOUL P.O.V.-
"Maka please answer me!" I scream through the door.
I continue to hear silence. I'm even more worried than ever!
Before I can even catch up with my own thoughts, I make a split decision to knock the door down. I just know Kid is going to kill me…
The door falls to the ground in a cloud of sawdust. I run into the room and find Maka sprawled out on the king size bed. I lean over her body and she looks completely unconscious. I place my two fingers on her neck to check for a pulse. Her heartbeat is off the charts. I remove my fingers and place my hands on her shoulders. I start to try to shake her awake.
"Maka! Can you hear me?" I yell.
She doesn't respond.
What have I done? I think to myself; I should have just told her the truth.
I kneel down on the side of the bed and put my face down in my arms on the edge of the bed.
"Soul, please don't…" Maka barely whispers.
I lift up my head and she continues to say little things like, "No!" and "Please don't!" That's when I realize she must be caught in a dream somehow. I stand up and try again to wake her up. Instead of words coming out of her mouth, a blood curdling scream escapes her lips, and her eyes become wide open.
-MAKA P.O.V.-
I wake up in the dark room again and Soul's there.
He is dressed in a black and red stripped suit and steps out of the shadows.
He looks like Soul but I know for a fact that isn't him.
I look down and I am coated in black again. The same lace black dress that goes to my knees and flares out at the bottom.
"You aren't Soul." I say to the figure that looks like Soul.
"Smart girl! You finally figured it out!" Soul says.
"Who are you and what do you want with me?" I ask.
"You'll see." Soul says walking forward.
I try to back away and run straight into a wall.
"Where are you going Maka? Don't you love me?" Soul asks.
"No! You aren't Soul!" I scream at him.
I start breathing faster and faster and within seconds he is right in front of me.
He reaches for me and I slap his face.
He turns back to me and the only expression on his face is pure hatred.
"You little brat!" he screams and reaches for me again.
I slide away from him, and run behind him.
I have to escape!
Before I can even take another step a firm hand grabs my arm.
"Soul, please don't! Whoever you are, please don't!" I yell.
My comment makes him smile more. All I can do is close my eyes and try not to cry.
I open my eyes and don't find Soul but a little red demon with a menacing grin.
"Who are you?" I ask, knowing my tone is uneven.
"Let me introduce myself Lady Albarn. I am Little Ogre!" The demon says.
"What do you want with me?" I ask.
"Simply to scare the pants off you! Literally!' The demon laughs!
"You're sick!" I scream at him.
"Well you shouldn't be surprised! My blood is black after all!" he says with smirk.
Black blood… Oh no.
I know the demon saw my eyes go wide.
He smiles big and starts to endlessly laugh.
"You're mine Maka!" the demon says with a grin and a laugh.
"NOOOOOO!" I scream.
I beg for my eyes to open and they do with a blood curdling scream.
-SOUL P.O.V.-
Maka sits up with a start and all I see are endless tears rolling down her face.
She turns her head to face me and reaches out to me. Without a thought I take her in my arms and hold her close. Her warm tears cover my shirt as she cries. I haven't seen her weak like this in a long time. Makes me ask myself how many times she cried as a child with her bum father to learn how to hold all that emotion in.
She holds me tighter and all I can do is do the same. I lay my head on the top of hers and just let her cry…
It's a while before she finally stops. Her breathing is even but every so often she hiccups a breath. I feel like if I dare let go of her she'll only fall apart.
She lifts her head off my chest, moves a bit away and looks me dead in the eyes; her face puffy from tears.
"Soul, a demon was inside my dream." Maka says, barely audible, "He spoke about having black blood."
My eyes go wide for a split second but I know she notices by her expression.
"I know him…" I reply in a whisper.
Maka takes a breath and sighs.
"Why didn't you tell me? You know our souls are linked…"
"I know! And that is why I couldn't tell you! It would just make it easier for him to get to you!"
Maka looks down at her hands in her lap.
"I don't care if he gets to me! I care about you. Whatever you're facing I'll face with you!" Maka yells, lifting her head.
"But Maka…"
"No. I'm your meister and you're my weapon and we will fight side by side no matter what."
I look down, back up and into her green eyes still filled with a few tears.
I nod and she takes my hand.
"I'm sorry Maka. I should have told you." I say.
MAKA CHOP!
"OWWW! What was that for?" I scream.
"For being a complete baka!" Maka says.
I rub my head and look back at her and smile.
She smiles back.
I pull her closer to me and hug her. I kiss the top of her head and she turns her face up to me.
"I love you my idiot!" Maka says.
"I know!" I reply before feeling her soft lips touch mine in the softest way.
Thank you all for your amazingness!
Till next time!
