Morticia Takes Her Medication

Chapter Eleven: Going Home

Sorry for the long delay but enjoy

Days went by slowly as the Addams family waited for Morticia to wake up. Today started out like any other day as the sun peaked through the hospital windows and shined upon Morticia's face.

Normally the warmth of the sun would have no effect, but this time it was different this time ...she moved. Morticia's eyes fluttered open letting the sunlight welcome her. Morticia's reaction was to cover her eyes, but she quickly noticed how hard it was to move her arms.

Morticia could tell by all the white décor and open windows that she was not at home. Moving her head she laid her eyes on her darling Wednesday who was still sleep on the bed.

Wincing in pain, Morticia raised her hand and gently touch's her daughter's face. The little girl began to stirred then she opened her eyes to see a smiling face looking back at her.

"Mother?" Wednesday asked.

"Yes...it's me darling." Morticia said hoarsely.

Wednesday was happy mother was awake, but she kept it to herself. She watched as mother looked over at father and painfully shook her head.

"Wednesday wake your father...he'll cramp up if he stays like that." Morticia said weakly.

The child nodded with a slight smirk across her face, even in her current state mother still cared for more others than her self.

Wednesday hopped off the bed and walked over to her father and shook him awake. Gomez opened his eyes and before he could say a word Wednesday moved aside, The castilian's lips curved into a smile for there looking at him was none other then his wife. Even in her weaken state she still looked beautiful.

"Cara mia..." left Gomez's lips.

"Mon Cher.." Morticia said with a smirk.

Wednesday backed away as father began kissing up mothers arm as more french words escaped her lips. The little one watched for a few moments more before waking up the rest of the family.

As everyone crowded around mother Wednesday backed out of the room and into the hall way. She looked around for Penelope but noticed she was no where to be found. Yet she did see Dr. Helen's walking down the hall. As the doctor got closer she noticed she was wearing the same clothes from a few days ago with the exception of a new white jacket.

As Dr. Helens stopped at the door Wednesday could see the dark circles under her eyes but she still managed to smile at her.

"Mother is awake now." Wednesday said.

"Good, I'll do my best to get her out of here as soon as possible." The female doctor replied.

Wednesday nodded and moved aside letting the doctor in the room.

Morticia smiled weakly at Dr. Helens who merely nodded her head in greeting.

"Glad to see you awake." Victoria said.

"Yes, I feel much better too." Morticia added.

Dr. Helens began to examine Morticia, with all eyes on her she pushed her self to focus more on her patient then ever. During the exam the young doctor noticed Morticia wincing in pain, she could tell the woman was trying her best not to cry out when she attempted to bend her arm.

"Good news, your body has begun healing from the damage the medication has caused." The young doctor said.

"But?" Morticia asked wanting the doctor to continue.

" Therapy is going to be needed to help you regain your strength." Dr. Helens said.

"No problem doc I will personally set up a therapy routine at home." Gomez chimed in.

Dr. Helens nodded as she removed patches and I.V from Morticia she knew they only wanted one thing and with Mr. Addams promising home therapy it left her with only one thing to say.

"You are free to go home." Dr. Helens said.

"Thank you Doctor." Morticia said happily.

As Dr. Helens left the room Morticia could see a mixture of emotions on the good doctors face but she was too tired to figure them out.

Soon Gomez, Pugsley and Fester were pushed outside of the room by Grandmama, Leaving Wednesday to pack up her mother's things while Grandmama helped Morticia into her black dress. Lurch was already outside warming up the family limo.

Soon the family was walking together down the hallway. The nurses, staff and even patients were happy to the see such a weird family leave the hospital.

Outside the family limo drove up and Lurch opened the door. Dr. Helens was outside as well she smiled as the whole family got into the limo. Lurch shut the door behind them and got into the drivers seat. Gomez rolled down the window with a his signature smile plastered on his face.

"I expect to see you in my office next month." Dr. Helens said.

"Don't worry I will be." Morticia replied.

Soon the Limo started up, Dr. Helens stepped back and waved to them until the limo was out of sight.

Victoria sighed contently she finished up some paper work in the hospital and headed out to her car. The worst was over but there is so much work left to be done. She took one last deep breath before starting up her car and head back to the clinic.
