Hi guys!

So, this didn't come out as soon as I'd expected, but oh well.

Without further ado, bring on Foxy!

Chapter 10 – In Which the Foxes all Lament

Foxy screeched as the girl was smashed into the wall. Blood leaked from a cut on her forehead and her right arm – which was already a mangled mess of metal rods, flesh and bone – twisted into an even more sickening angle than before.

"No!" he roared, struggling against the hold of Bonnie and Chica. "If you do any more to her, I'll-!"

"You'll what?" Bonnie sneered. "She'll die long before you can even sink your teeth into Freddy."

"Let the bitch get what's coming to her!" Chica jeered.

"Hey, what's going on?"

Foxy's heart sank as the light green mole animatronic walked in, bewilderment and fear plastered on his face, and shadows accentuated by the soft glow of his nose.

"Stay out of this, Maurice," Freddy growled, jamming his hand over Felicity's mouth so she didn't scream. The only sound that escaped the bear's appendage was a muffled whimper.

"Is that..?"

"Get out. Now."

Maurice's face hardened. "No," he said. "This isn't right. You shouldn't-."

At that moment, Freddy dropped Felicity onto the ground, forcing a groan out of the young woman, and marched over to Maurice.

"Are you stupid?" Freddy snarled. "I'm the boss here, you little brat."

"You're not my boss."

In retaliation, Freddy gripped Maurice by the neck and slammed him against the wall.

"Leave him out of this, Freddy!" Foxy pleaded. "He doesn't need to get involved!"

"He got involved the moment he opened his ugly trap," Freddy sneered.

"Please, don't-."

"Your days are numbered, Freddy," Maurice mocked. "Sooner or later you'll be scrapped. All of you monsters will."

At this remark, Freddy's eyes turned jet black, the white pupils barely visible.

"And you'll be the first to reach the scrapheap."

Foxy screamed, helpless as the nightmare unfolded.

Foxy awoke with a start, shaking slightly. It was that night… the night everything went wrong…

Felicity and Maurice had both died, it was his fault…

Sighing, he brought out the glasses and fake fur and gazed at them sadly. They were his last links to them.

"I'm really sorry, my friends," he whispered.

"A-a-about-t-t-t wh-wh-what-t-t-t?"

Foxy's head snapped up to meet with those of a tall, looming figure that lurked in the shadows of his solitary room. Its eyes; the only feature on its grey face; were like the Marionette's; black with white pupils; and he wore a ripped security guard outfit, complete with badge.

"I know you," Foxy stated. "You're that Marionette animatronic who wandered the old place at night. You disappeared back in '99. How come you're back?"

"Y-y-y-you d-d-didn't-t-t a-ans-s-s-swer m-m-my ques-s-st-t-tion-n-n-n," the doll said, its voice incredibly glitchy to the point that its words were barely recognisable.

"My friends died because I couldn't save them," Foxy muttered bitterly.

The doll just stared at him, as apathetic as Foxy remembered.

"You always seemed to me like the kind of person who was looking for something else," Foxy said. "You found it yet?"

It tilted its head, contemplating its answer.

"M-m-m-mi-i-i-i-k-k-e-e-ey-y-y," it murmured under its breath. "I-I n-n-e-e-eed-d-d t-t-to f-find-d-d h-hi-m."

Weirdo, Foxy thought to himself as silence draped itself over the two animatronics.

ϪϪϪ

Scott watched Flossy as the orange fox hunched over the work desk, tinkering with some mechanisms.

"You're stressed," he said simply, drawing the female's attention. "Don't worry; you'll do fine."

"Will I?" Flossy asked sceptically. "I can't act, Scott. What if I slip up?"

"You won't. I have faith in you. You'll fit right in with them."

"Won't Mangle get jealous of Doll, though? He's supposed to be the star of Kids' Cove."

"He probably won't mind. She might actually take the kids' attention away from tearing him apart."

Flossy nodded, her burgundy eyes glinting. "You've got a point. You think Foxy will recognise me?"

"… I can't say…"

Flossy sighed, her ears drooping.

"I'm scared, Scott."

"Me too. That kid who took the guard position… he's Messorem's kid. I don't know what to do."

"Is he anything like Messorem?"

"No. That's not what I'm afraid of, though. I'm scared the animatronics will try to hurt him just for looking like the man who killed them."

Flossy was silent, but her eyes displayed her concern. "We can only have faith."

"I know."

ϪϪϪ

Mangle screamed in pain; oily black tears pouring from his eyes. The kids had lodged a piece of his leg into his chest, and it hurt like fucking hell!

"Mom, it's okay," Marion assured, but his quavering voice didn't exactly inspire confidence. "E-Eddie and BonBon are getting some tools so they can get that piece out."

For the benefit of his surrogate child, Mangle gritted his teeth together and halted the screams whilst he waited for Eddie and BonBon to arrive.

He only had to wait a few minutes before the animatronic and the endoskeleton arrived, carrying a toolbox.

"Marion, out," Eddie commanded firmly.

"But-."

"Go. And I'm not asking."

Marion cast one final worried look in Mangle's direction before getting up and leaving, albeit hesitantly.

Eddie turned to look at Mangle, who lay prone and pained on the floor. "I really don't want to hurt you," he told his friend.

"Just get it out!" Mangle snapped.

ϪϪϪ

Marion stood outside the Kids' Cove, trying to block out the metallic screeches coupled with radio static that only Mangle could produce. It was torture to find Mangle in such pain. Yes, he spent most of his nights in pain anyway, but at least it was bearable.

"He'll be okay."

Goldie.

"It's still horrible to hear him screaming like that."

"I know, but it won't last forever. It can be fixed."

"Unlike the rest of him. BonBon and Eddie don't have that experience."

"He'll be fine," the golden bear repeated.

Marion nodded, and spent the rest of his wait in silence.

He prayed that Mangle would be fine…

ϪϪϪ

Mangle whimpered in pain. It was finally over. He sighed in relief as the leg part was fixed into its proper place.

"Are you okay?" Eddie asked as BonBon left with the tools.

"That fucking hurt," Mangle growled weakly. In consolation, Eddie hugged him to his chest.

"Sorry," he whispered.

"Don't worry about it. You did more good than harm."

Eddie nodded, and the two animatronics looked up when Marion rushed in and hugged Mangle silently.

"Are you okay?" he asked, his voice sweet and innocent to Mangle's ears.

"I'm fine, sweetheart," Mangle reassured him, placing a gentle kiss on the puppet's forehead.

Marion nodded. The three remained in their group hug until Marion started yawning, and Eddie firmly told him to get some sleep.

That left Mangle and Eddie alone in the Kids' Cove.

"We've got the new night guard to contend with, tomorrow night," Eddie mused.

"I didn't like the look of that kid with the purple hair," Mangle said. "I sensed something off about him."

"Purple hair?"

"His eyes were rather off-putting as well. Empty white, as if he were blind. The others told me he was a little too interested in Marion."

"I'll wander around the place whenever he takes night shift. Keep an eye on him."

"Thank you."

"I'd do anything for you and Marion. You know that."

Mangle smiled and lifted his head to look intently into Eddie's cobalt blue eyes. "Your eyes are so pretty," he complimented, placing a light kiss on the endoskeleton's cheek.

Eddie chuckled, returning the kiss. "As are yours," he crooned. "And even now you're a sexy fox."

The white fox blushed madly, his cheeks glowing vibrantly. "I…"

"I've always admired your spirit. The way you hold yourself together so well after the world tries to break you apart every day. It's one of your best attributes."

Mangle snuggled deeper into Eddie's hug. The bare endoskeleton was warm, radiating trust and comfort. Eddie was that sort of person.

"I like you," the fox whispered. "More than just a friend. More like… family."

Eddie lowered his head to kiss the top of Mangle's head. "I feel the same way. I love you, Mags."

"I love you, too."
