Fame & Fortune 3: Expect The Unexpected

Chapter 11: Cleaning Up The Mess

Gil was on his way to finished up his 100 hours of community service after getting arrested for possession of marijuana. But he was not alone. "I still can't believe we have to do community service as well," C.J. responded. "That wasn't even our pot."

"Well by Georgia law, anyone who is at least ten feet away from any drug is also responsible," his older sister responded who was feeding Lil William.

"It's still not right."

"Relax, C.J.," Gil said. "You two only have 25 hours. I have 100."

"Cause that was your weed."

Molly covered up her son's ears. "Can you two please carry this conversation outside? When you leave? William doesn't need to hear this." Lil William was sitting on his high chair eating cereal from his Wallykazam! bowl and drinking orange juice from his Speed McCool racing cup. His father juts rolled his eyes.

"I still think the only reason we got charged was because we're not white," C.J. added.

"What are you talking about?"

"Think of it. That officer who pulled the car over was white and he quickly noticed me and Thomas."

"Okay. What are you getting at, C.J.?"

"He glared at us like we were up to no good and told us to get out of the car."

"He told me to get out of the car too," the brother-in-law pointed out. During this pointless conversation, William accidentally tossed his spoon on the floor. His mother picked it up and washed it off before handing the small plastic spoon back to the two-year-old child, trying to distract herself from this useless talking.

"I'm telling you," C.J. added. "That cop was just waiting to bust a black man and that weed was his key."

"It's the state law. Anyway, That bag was highly visible. You guys noticed it before you got in the car."

"I still think it was race."

"okay. Stop it. Both of you," Molly protested. "This whole thing is stupid. I'm done with this."

"So am I," Gil stated. "Anyway we got to go. Let's go get Thomas."

"Whatever."

"Babe, you got your pills?"

The husband scuffed in annoyance. The couple have been working on bringing another baby and Molly is making sure she does everything in her power to get pregnant again. "Yeah I got them." gil takes out the small bottle from his jacket pocket.

"Make sure you take two…"

"Molly, I got it."

"Okay." After planting a kiss on his wife and another kiss on top of his son's head, the man of the house and his brother-in-law rushed out the door.

In the previous chapter, Oona met up with her ex Nonny at her restaurant. After the visitation, she met up with her current boyfriend Avi and their daughter Eva at a photo shoot to take a family portrait. But during the photo shoot, Avi smelled cologne on her person and she confessed to talked to Nonny, much to his displeasure. When the couple got back home, they had a fight about it, with Avi thinking that it is not a good idea for Oona to still be talking to an ex. This chapter takes place the day after the last chapter and during the part with Gil and C.J. leaving the house. Let's see on where the couple stand at with this whole thing.

Oona got her purse, keys and was ready to head on out the door to start her weekday. The only thing that was standing in her way was her paranoid boyfriend.

"Hey," Avi said walking behind her. "We're not done talking about this."

"I am," the girlfriend responded.

"Oona, I really don't want you talking to Nonny."

"You can't tell me who I could talk to or not and I've known him forever."

"And you've also had a relationship with him."

"So? Can't two exes be friends?"

"No. That's why they call it 'exes'"

Oona just signed in frustration. "You know what? I don't have time for this. I got a business to run."

"well so do I. So we're on the same boat here."

"Well I'm getting off the boat. I'll see you later."

"Oona. We're not done talking about this." But the female just left the house slamming the door on Avi's face. Avi just sighed. He walked back in the living room to watch over Eve until her babysitter comes.

Meanwhile…

"I am so glad our hours are finally over," C.J. stated.

"Join the club," Gil responded.

"No kidding," Thomas added. All three of them were sitting at a bench.

"But you know. There is something that's still bugging me though."

"C.J. if you say it has something to that whole race thing again, I swear…"

"Relax, Gil. I moved passed that."

"Good," the younger brother fired. "You wouldn't start talking about that at all last night." The older brother rolled his eyes. "So what's on your mind this time?"

"what were you doing with weed in the first place, Gil?"

"You know, that was a question I was finna ask you today. Yeah, what were you doing with that weed? Cause you usually don't smoke, so why all of a sudden now?"

Both pair of eyes were now locked on Gil. As you are aware, this isn't the first time Gil was last seen with marijuana. But they knew he wasn't the doing-drugs type…or at least that's what they thought. The husband just sign. There was a reason why he smokes weed. "You guys don't know what its like for a man like me."

"What are you talking about? What don't we understand?"

"I have a family, you guys. I have a wife to support, a son to raise and a career to maintain. But Molly is doing so well, she's bringing home more than what I have."

"Oh I see. You feel like you're not…"

"…carrying my weight to the family. It's like that Molly is more of the man in the house than I am."

"Yeah, you got a point there."

"Wh…really, C.J? Seriously?"

"Sorry. Damn."

After scuffing at his older brother, Thomas turned to his brother-in-law. "Gil, don't worry about none of that. You shouldn't let this get between you two."

"Yeah you're right."

"Hey speaking of Molly, how's the baby making project going so far? Are we expecting a nephew or niece anytime soon?"

"Man, I don't know yet. Molly got me on these pills, got me on this diet and all that other bullshit. Are all girls crazy over having kids?"

"That's our sisters," C.J. jumped back in. "Ever since they were little, they always have this visual of them being parents and starting a family. Janet wanted two kids, she got two. Olivia wanted three kids, she got three and Molly wanted four kids. She got one and want three more."

"Damn."

"Yeah. It's crazy, but that's just how it is. But, it was our mother who inspired them to become mothers. Having kids means the world to our sisters."

Gil finished putting more trash in his trash bag before grabbing another bag since his first one was getting full. "You know what? I understand where Molly is going with this whole motherhood thing. I do. But the point I'm saying is that she's taking the fun out of it. The first time she was pregnant, we just had sex and boom. She came out pregnant."

"Well just tell her how you feel," C.J. stated. "She'll understand what you're saying because she loves you."

"Okay. You guys are right." The trio continue to pick up more trash from the ground. It was just amazing to them how so many people would be so careless to throw their junk on the ground. "So how about you guys?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean did our father inspired you to become fathers yourselves?"

"Honestly Gil, I don't know if I want to be a daddy," Thomas answered.

"I really don't know myself," C.J. answered. "In 10 years from now, yeah, I probably do. But for now, I'm happy being single and not dealing with no crazy baby mothers."

"why's that?"

"Looking at Goby's situation." The other two brothers laughed before agreeing with him.

"Yeah."

"No doubt."
