On the train…

The silence was quiet, and it hurt. I felt the eyes of the Half-Bloods on me, watching, as if daring each other to do or say something. Finally with a sigh, like someone giving in, I heard Seth's voice say.

"Athenia." I stopped my constant gaze out the window, and looked at Seth. "Now. Don't kill me." he said cautiously. "But, ever since last night, I—I wanted to know, what—what happened to him?" I didn't say anything. "Athenia." I looked back out the window. "Athenia." I ignored him. "Athenia, can you hear me?"

"Seth." Annabeth said. "The question is not 'can she hear you', it's 'will she listen'."

"Athenia." Percy said. "Athenia, please answer us."

"Athenia. What happened to him?" Seth asked again.

"His name is—was Luka." I said. "Luka and I. Well… Luka was—how shall I say this—handsome." Seth and Percy looked a little uncomfortable. Well he literally asked for it. "Not handsome, really… but smoking hot. Which made perfect sense his mom was Aphrodite." Annabeth smiled, understanding. "But he also was a descendent of Mar—Ares." That would have been bad, I hated that I couldn't tell anyone about Camp Jupiter. I mean it gets annoying! "So he was a good fighter, and he listened to me when I told him what to do."

"What happened to him?" Asked Percy. Annabeth shot him a look. "What?! You know you were thinking it!" Annabeth shot him another look.

"No. Annabeth its O.K., and Percy I don't know." They looked confused.

"What do you mean 'you don't know'?" asked Seth confused.

"I mean, I don't know, I guess that he's now dead. But I woke up one morning; we had just finished a job. Wow. What a job that one was. We had killed a gorgon nest and were covered in goo for reasons, I will not tell you, ever! But anyway, we had fallen asleep staring at the stars, and when I woke up, he was gone."

"Gone?" Percy asked.

"Disappeared. Vanished. Not there. Absent." I said.

"And he never called?" asked Percy. Annabeth and I rolled our eyes.

"Was that supposed to be funny, fish boy?" I asked. Seth giggled. At me or Percy I couldn't tell.

"It was, you just aren't, smart alec." Percy spat back.

"Smart alec? Come on, you can do better than that." I said. Percy rolled his eyes.
