Gaara drug Naruto to the dark side of town after the run-in with Kakashi. If Jaraiya had something to say about his father then he just had to know what it was. Gaara had no clue if it was a turning point in the case or what, but still, he had to know for certain. Naruto remained silent the entire drive over because it was far too long to walk and even though the morning sun was still bright in the sky, the alleyways could get very dark, very fast on foot.

Naruto shifted in the leather passenger seat of Gaara's undercover car. He owned it so he could drive it about. The blond groped at the edge of his seat that he seemed to be sliding out of slowly. The thick tension in the air weighted on his chest like a stone and it hurt to breathe deeply. He reran what Gaara had blurted out carelessly while hiding in the bathroom over and over again during the trip that only took about twenty minutes including some light morning traffic. They had already bypassed the morning rush due to the coffee break earlier that morning.

Gaara pulled the car around the back of the building, Naruto figured it was because a cop cruiser parked outside the front door would have been bad for this guys business. Gaara was the first from the car, and he practically ran at that, leaving Naruto in his dust blindsided. The blond man could only huff and try to catch up to the other.

But he never made it.

Gaara entered the building that was all too familiar to him. This was the place where he discovered his sexuality...with a dancer of all people. He sauntered up to the counter that sat in between two doors and a long hallway. The receptionist smiled and waved coyly at him. He cringed. Ew, women.

Gaara turned to the hallway and began the shameful walk down it. Again, it was all too familiar to him. He had his father would go this same way when they needed info about an Invisible wreaking havoc in the city. Jaraiya was there go-to guy with the dirt and a solution. If he knew anything about the red Cherry Blossom Organization then he knew how to stop them...from whatever they were up too.

He still needed to solve that mystery.

Gaara entered the very last door on the right of the hall lined with red velvety material. He wrapped on the wooden door once before just walking in. Jaraiya sat behind a classy desk with white snake skin boots propped up at the corner. He smiled genuinely.

"Nice to see you again. Thought you put it all behind you since your father's passing?"

"You know damn well why I'm here..." He trailed off fighting off an abnormal batch of tears. "Kakashi preluded to something of importance to me."

"Oh did he know?"

"Yes, you bastard tell me about them!"

Jaraiya sat back in his recliner and plucked his fingers together pondering something. "I know what you're after, but you're not going to like it. Not at all, Gaara Kaze."

"I don't give a flying fuck! Tell me now!"

"The heart."

"...th-...The what?" The outrageous statement took the redhead completely off guard.

Jaraiya grimaced as he now stood slowly and poised from the leaned back chair. It was stuck in that position. "It's what they need to assemble the Prism."

The older gentleman sighed and slammed his hand down on the desk. "Do you not recall the thing that these deranged people were trying to do the last time you came face to face with them, Gaara? They were trying to piece together The Prism of the Invisible. The one thing that can simultaneously get rid of all of the Invisible kind. Boom DONE GONE FOREVER!"

Gaara blinked.

Jaraiya's fingers curled around the corner of the desk that now had ruffled papers and a spilled Scotch on top of it. "God...I wish I was talking to your sister..." A pause. "Anyway... The Prism is comprised of five parts and each part develops inside of the heart. Hence why I said heart before. I can't believe you never knew this?" Gaara was making his confused face again.

"Well, Dad might have mentioned something like that beforehand... But I must not have been paying attention..."

"That's why I wish Temari were here. I could get through to her!" Gaara ducked his head at the insult that finally sunk in enough to realize that it was meant as mean. "The last I heard was that they had found all of the shards. That means that someone needs to do something. You know me, Gaara. I'm just the rat I don't fight, I don't get involved with the situation."

"No, you just make it worse when you do..."

"Exactly. So that's why I tell you everything that you need to know and you go get killed apparently. If you had just listened to him he might still be aliv-"

"Yeah, father might be here listening to you instead of me. Solving the problem instead of irritating it like me. Yah know what I don't understand is why my sister isn't here right now listening to this. She's just like me, a monster in human skin. Why tell only me this?"

The grey haired man lowered his head to deliver the lowest blow of all. "It involves your boyfriend."

Even though Gaara didn't consider Naruto his boyfriend by any means, he knew what Jaraiya meant. His blood ran cold then hot then cold again. He pieced it all together at that point in time and the monster inside of him began to stir.

"What piece?" He asked.

"Well of course," Jaraiya said matter-of-factly. "The most important one, Life."

Gaara began to pace as his temper flared up. "And there's one more thing that you need to know about the R.C.B. Organization. About their leader."

"What?" Gaara was nearly to the door.

"She hates you."

"...whatever. Everyone hates me for something-"

"She knows you Gaara, and you know her. Very well If you remember correctly." He winked despite the conversation. "Before she had pink hair."

The old coot left it open ended and Gaara walked out pissed off to high heaven.

How did he know the evil woman that took his father's life? All of his thoughts were too jumbled in his head to think about one for any length of time. He clenched his fists at his own annoyance for himself. He stood in the main hallway tapping his foot waiting on Naruto, wherever that idiot went...!

"Shit!"

Gaara burst out of the door and craned his neck from here to there scanning furiously for his partner on the street side, knowing that he wouldn't be there any longer. His heart began to pound so hard it was beginning to hurt in his chest. He had to stop and laugh breathlessly for a quick second though. His heart, he was feeling an emotion he thought had withered and died months ago. It was reassuring, yet at the same time he wished it would just stop.

He quickened his step as he shot back to the car to survey the area for clues, knowing full well that there wouldn't be any.

Not from people like these.

Gaara looked underneath the frame of the cruiser and paced around it examining the tires, doors, the ground, searching for anything that he could go on. Nothing. He would have to use it... He thought about going back inside and asking Jaraiya for more information, but he figured he had already agitated his source enough. The only other option was to go see his sister... God he really didn't want to do that, but the last time he tried to save someone he loved they died anyway. What was the harm in asking for help this time?

Gaara pulled out his phone and reluctantly dialed up Temari. She answered on the next to last ring with an ungracious what do you want.

Gaara huffed and told her the situation. It made his older sister go completely silent on the other end of the line, which was odd. He could hear her breathing heavily, thinking over the reality of all of their kind wiped out in the blink of an eye. Finally she said,

"What do you want me to do, Gaara?"

Gaara nodded in sheer appreciation for his sister. "Okay then, I have to find out where they took Naruto to begin with. There's no way to destroy the Prism until it's formed... Burning the book only sets the whole process back. It doesn't stop it."

"Dad must have known that. That's why he was having you wait so long before. He was waiting until they combined all the shards to strike 'em down. God why didn't he ever tell us about that damned rock!"

"I thought he did..."

"No never. I don't think he trusted us enough with that sensitive information. He knew all too well that you were way too rambunctious in your demon form and I just hated it up one side and down the other. We didn't accept ourselves."

Temari could be the most depressing person her little brother had ever seen. She would just suck the life out of anyone she spoke too like that.

"We need to come up with a plan before we just go barging in blind. We don't want a repeat of last time."

Gaara was nodding anxiously on his end acting like Temari was right there in front of him speaking. "So what do we do? Get Naruto or destroy the Prism?"

"Destroy them. Destroying the Prism would mean that Naruto would already be dead because they would need his heart to form the complete Prism. Saving Naruto first would mean the shards would just be scattered again and they could start the entire process over again. We have to hit the problem where it lies. Them."

Both siblings new the implications of this particular plan. They would have to allow the crystal to be completed before they could make a move for it. It was deadly dangerous and reckless in the least. Gaara swallowed hard over his line on the phone call, Temari went silent in thought. It was so crazy neither loud mouth could think up something to say to the other. They had just agreed upon a suicide mission for themselves.

They both knew someone wasn't coming back out alive. Preferably to enemy.

Poor Naruto got snatched! More flashbacks in the next chapter! And I just loved making Kakashi like that. In my mind in real life that would so be him and Jaraiya.
