A/N: I decided to have a fun chapter, just for fun.

Enjoy!

The next day, there was a large party, celebrating the defeat of the Qunari. Hawke was the most honored guest, though Merrill and the others were also considered honored guests as well. Even Theron and Carver were invited.

Theron stood off to the side, near a table that had various meats, breads, drinks, and other foods covering it. He was wearing his armor, his weapons sheathed on his back and his throwing knives on his belt. He had his arms crossed, examining the crowd. A few women had asked if he wanted to dance, some older men glaring with disapproving scowls.

He declined, of course, the women seeming disappointed. The last celebration he went to was a week after he killed the archdemon, and he didn't dance then either, though that was mostly because he was still recovering from the battle. After the battle, his armor had been nearly torn to shreds, his skin exposed in almost a dozen areas. His exposed skin had been burnt in varying degrees, from minor to severe. He also had broken half his ribs, dislocated his left shoulder, broken his right ankle, crushed half the fingers on his left hand, and a dozen other injuries.

While most of his injuries had healed correctly, he had complications with his ribs and crushed fingers, causing him to have trouble twisting his torso and making a tight fist. He still had scarring from his most severe burns, blotting his skin with odd shapes and colors. He eventually was able to overcome the complications, though not completely. There was no way to fix them, since they had been healed for years now. Breaking them again would only make everything worse.

Another woman asked him to dance, and again, he declined. She frowned and walked away. It wasn't that the women were unattractive, quite the opposite in fact, but he didn't accept their offers because he simply wasn't the type to dance. One, he didn't know how. Two, he thought that dancing was pointless. And three, he wasn't as nimble as he used to be. Another side effect of his injuries.

He continued to scan the crowd before he saw a familiar face. Can't be. He looked more intently, the man had short brown hair and some stubble on his chin. The man was also clad in royal armor… the symbol of the Fereldan monarchy emblazoned on the gauntlets. Alistair?

He started walking through the crowd, dodging dancers who seemed too focused on their partners to notice anything else. He approached and Alistair turned, a look of surprise on his face. "Theron?! What the blazes are you doing here?"

Theron smiled. "It's good to see you too, Alistair."

Alistair smiled back, clapping a gloved hand on Theron's shoulder. "I've been wondering where you disappeared to. Still saving the day?"

Theron shook his head. "That was Hawke."

"Who's that? A bird?" He laughed and Theron smiled.

"Let's just hope Shale isn't here." Alistair laughed even harder.

"Yeah, she went on a bird-killing rampage after you went to Vigil's Keep!"

Theron started laughing. "I wondered why I stopped hearing bird songs in the forests."

Alistair laughed even harder, clutching his sides. After a little bit, they both calmed down, Alistair saying, "Anyway… Why are you here? In Kirkwall of all places?

"My clan is just outside the city, on Sundermount."

"Really? Well, I'm glad you found them. Nathaniel said that you left and you were leaving him in charge, so I didn't know what to think."

"Yeah, sorry about that. I guess I should have sent you a letter too. Anyway, why are you here?"

"Well, I heard about the Qunari attack and I came to provide help any way I can. I sort of got pulled into coming here, though."

"Eamon?" He nodded. "I suppose he suggested that you come to Kirkwall personally to negotiate aid too?"

He shook his head. "No, that was my idea. I didn't want to negotiate by letters. Especially since I'm not even sure who's in charge here anymore."

"Good idea." He noticed Alistair glance at something past him and he turned around, only to be greeted by a familiar red-haired rogue. "Leliana?!"

She smiled before she embraced him in a long hug. Theron was surprised, but he quickly recovered, hugging her back. He heard Alistair clear his throat behind him after about a minute, reluctantly releasing Leliana. "It is so good to see you again, Theron," she said.

"You too." He smiled. "What are you doing here?"

"I was in the neighborhood and heard there was a party, so I decided to drop in." She giggled. "What about you?"

"I helped stop the Qunari." He shrugged, making it seem like it was no big deal. "Also, being known as the one who stopped the Blight seems to make me popular."

"I'll bet." She giggled again. "How are your ribs and hand doing?"

He shrugged again. "Could be better. Could be worse."

She smiled, the kind of smile that indicated that she was up to something. "You want to dance?"

"You know I don't dance."

"Come on," she begged playfully. "It'll be fun."

Before he could stop her, Leliana grabbed his hand and dragged him away from Alistair, who started laughing. "You're no help!" Theron shouted to his friend, who only laughed harder.

They wormed their way through the crowd, eventually ending up at a break in the crowd, which was large enough for several pairs of dancers to dance in with room to spare. Leliana dragged Theron with her into the center, who was still trying to get out of dancing, with no success.

She grabbed his hand and said, "Now place your other hand here…" She moved his other hand to the small of her back, just above her waist. "Good." Then she placed her other hand on his shoulder. He looked around to see that the pairs around them were doing the same.

"Elgar'nan, I will get you back for this." He glared at her half-heartedly.

"You'll like it." She smiled and winked. "Trust me."

Theron groaned and Leliana told him what to do, step by step. She led, Theron struggling to match her movements. She repeatedly said, "One, two, three, four," over and over again until Theron got into the rhythm, his movements becoming much more fluent.

He saw her smile and couldn't help but smile back. He noticed some of the women who had asked him to dance earlier watch in disbelief, glancing between him and their dance partners.

Oddly enough, he actually enjoyed dancing with Leliana. Step by step, beat by beat, it eventually felt like he was in a trance. His body was moving, but he didn't need to think about it, he barely heard the music or the people around him, and he didn't notice the crowd starting to watch them dance.

They danced for what seemed like hours before the music ended. They stopped and let their hands drop to their sides, Theron jumping at the sound of the crowd clapping. He looked around, seeing the crowd of nobles looking at them, clapping, before he noticed Alistair smiling, Merrill doing the same a few nobles to the left.

"See?" Leliana asked, getting Theron's attention. "I told you that you'd like it." She smiled and he smiled back.

"I hate it when you're right," he replied, shaking his head, still smiling. Leliana laughed in response.
