Knocking on the actress' hotel room door, Aaron found himself worrying about the younger girl. After they had agreed to go out for lunch, America's sweetheart immediately changed her mind with no explanation to the other actor. With no scenes for them left to do that day, it was easy for Emily to avoid him.
"Emily?" he called, knocking again on the door. "Emily, are you there?" Met with silence, the new actor held in his sigh. "If you're in there, it's me Aaron. I wanted to talk to you."
"Sir?"
Turning, Aaron gave a small smile to the bellhop. "Dinner for Emily Prentiss?"
The young man nodded his head.
"Emily," the actor called again, knocking harder on the hotel room door. "Don't leave the room service out here. It'll get cold."
Finally, the twenty-one year old unlocked her door and peeked her head out. She ignored the older man standing just before her and looked to the bellhop, frowning. "I didn't order anything from room service," she said softly, looking blankly to the hotel staff member. "Sorry."
The bellhop gave a look to the cart he had been pushing before nodding his head. "My apologies."
Emily's gaze moved from the hotel staff member and to the man she had been working with, her hand tightening around the doorknob of her door. "What?"
"Can I come in?"
The twenty-one year old immediately shook her head, her eyes downcasting to the floor. "I'm busy."
Aaron's brown furrowed, hearing the bellhop start to roll the cart away. "With?"
"Studying my lines."
The older man slowly nodded his head. "We can do that together."
Emily looked up and met the eyes of the actor. "I want to be alone," she said strongly, her eyes hardening on the man she had thought she'd be able to take a chance on . "Please leave."
"Please? I just want a minute."
Her eyes softened on the brunette when she saw his features change and his eyes sadden. Glancing back to the bellhop who was taking the tray away, the actress slowly backed into her room and opened the door.
Aaron gave the smallest smile before walking into the room, his eyes immediately catching the necklace he had given the younger woman lying on her dresser.
"What can I help you with?" she asked quietly, locking the door behind her and crossing her arms over her breasts.
Shrugging, the actor turned back around to look at the beautiful girl. "We had lunch plans, and you left."
The twenty-one year old gave a hard bite to her lip.
"Is something going on?"
Emily looked straight into those eyes she had fallen for and shrugged her shoulders. "I felt sick. I wanted to come and lie down."
Looking around the room, Aaron observed a bottle of wine near the bed with a box of candies just beside it, an impression in the pillow on the far side of the bed. "Sure."
The actress felt her patience growing thin as the older man kept his eyes roaming around the room. "I'd like for you to leave now," she spoke up, her eyes hard on Aaron when his head turned back to her. "Don't you have a phone call to make?"
"Excuse me?"
"Haley," the brunette bit out, the name on her tongue feeling sour. When she noticed his eyes softening on her, Emily's fingers scratched into her pale skin. "I went over to your trailer before we were supposed to go to lunch and I heard you on the phone with her. I suppose you want to go and give her a goodnight call."
Aaron bit his tongue.
Walking toward the door, the twenty-one year old made a reach for the doorknob. "If you can't leave her, then you can't be with me."
"Emily, I-"
"I will not be your side piece," she hissed, yanking the door open. "I'm young, but I'm not stupid. And if you can't deal with this then I suggest you quit the movie."
"Excuse me?"
Emily leveled her glare at those wide eyes of the older man. "Take your necklace," she said, her voice soft but strong. "I don't want it."
Aaron took a long look at the necklace before shaking his head, walking slowly toward the younger woman. "I bought that for you. It means something."
"It's cheap." Looking up at the man who had touched her in front of those cameras and their crew, the young woman who had been acting since she was just old enough to write her name hardened her eyes. "And I'm not."
Taking a chance, the actor leaned in toward her.
Her hand flew out and shoved itself hard against Aaron's chest. "Get out," she growled. "Now."
