John POV
Currently we (the group) were walking to that pool Nagisa had promised me we would go swimming at. With us five walking, everyone was pumped for this swimming thing. Especially Haru; but it looked like he disguised that fact. They all bickered, laughed, and talked like they did this practically every day.
I dragged my feet slowly as I sighed silently. Being tired mentally and physically didn't help the situation at all. Also having evidence like bags under your eyes didn't stop people from asking or my small group of friends for that matter. I was feeling pretty good but not enough to go outside and socialize with others.A headache was coming from the back of my head, threatening to ruin my day.
That stroll at two am did help a bunch, but I sacrificed that for sleep that I very much needed since I really need to get back. And Dave, who was he anyways? I have a feeling if I see him he will be a solution to my problems or at least some of them.
I shrugged off that thought of that person Dave. I don't even know him!? How was I suppose to react? I mean. Was he even important to think about anyways? Did he have any value points in my life or was a really good friend? Really. Was he just there or did he have a role into my day-to-day life?
I tried to shake those thoughts away and I looked around. The surroundings seemed more familiar as we strolled casually to the pool. Oh! I have an idea why maybe. The streets looked so familiar is because I walked to Haruka's house, with Kou, er- Gou? I can't remember. What did Haru even call her before? Or did he even say her name?
A frown pulled my face down, and my eyes closed shut.
"Hmmmmm." I hummed audibility, and opened my eyes.
Thinking about the black-haired swimmer, I looked at him strolling next to me. He was wearing a black purplish swimsuit and a dark blue shirt. It complimented him quite well. It looked like he liked it too, in a weird, just WEIRD way.
"Hey Haru." I called out to him, my eyes flickering up to his, then away.
He answered, "Yea?"
"Do you like swimming?" I asked him.
"Yea." He replied indifferently, yet distant.
Haru gave the slightest shrug ever, then slid in step next to Makato. It was on the side of the group, yet still by them closely. I looked at the rest of the group, in a slight daze. Rei wore a small smile on his face, looking forward and noticed me glancing at him. His smile grew as his eyes twinkled.
"Uh." I gasped slightly, and adverted my eyes.
Someone else, Nagisa took this opportunity to fall in step next to me. He leaned close to me and whispered,"Haru likes swimming so much; he even swims in his dreams!"
My gloomy er- alright mood switched off in an instant, and I giggled.
"Oh my gosh, really!" I exclaimed in a regular tone, ignoring the questioning gaze of Rei. The talking was only done by Haru and Makato at the back of the group, but any boisterous, loud talking stopped. (Since the main source of the conversation was diverted elsewhere.)
Nagisa's smile crept to a bigger one, and he joined along with me. I was guessing we were getting close, because everyone sped up their pace slightly.
"What are you guys saying!?" Rei exclaimed, breaking up our giggle-fest. He huffed, casting a hurt glare that looked sarcastic yet serious at the same time.
That did not help at all, becuase that only made it worse.
Nagisa wiped a tear away, almost tripped, and then whispered in my ear in laughing gasps, "Also...Haru...and...Makato-"
He covered his mouth, snickering in it, his cheeks turning bright pink with the fits of laughter.
"What?!" I exclaimed, joining the loudness, "Come on! Tell me."
"Okay," Nagisa leaned in close to my ear, whispering quietly, "Haru and Makato swim together, because..."
He paused, flickering his gaze to the two at the back of the group.
"They like water."
There was absolutely nothing funny about it. But the mood and setting up of that joke was just halirous. Nagisa and I burst out in full on laughter, tears streaming down my face. In a good way.
o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o
About five minutes later we were at the pool, at their school; but the group had to stop. Since Nagisa and I were still full on laughing, still. Nagisa, and I were sitting on the ground, since standing up was not a very good idea.
I don't even know how we got through those five minutes. All that time my stomach clutched tighter, and tighter the giggling making it worst. Nagisa almost fell three times, but caught himself before he even fell.
Rei rolled his eyes, looking at Nagisa and I. Haru and Makato did the same, but only in a confused manner, excluding the eye rolling.
"Come on guys." Rei swung his hands out, sighing heavily, "Why are you still laughing, and what is so funny? What did you even say Nagisa?"
Questions spewed out of his mouth, both of us unable to answer them since of the state we were in. He was probably done with us, as of now. I cleared my throat, looking him in the eye. Rei glared harshly at us.
A smile grew on my face, laughter almost breaking out.
I cleared my throat again, looking at Rei's red glasses, then at his eyes. They were a mix of hatred and how done he was with us right now.
"Water." I stated, knowing that would trigger another wave of laughter.
"Oh my gosh- JoHN-" Nagisa clutched his stomach, ducking his head, between his legs, and choked out a tremendously loud laugh.
I giggled, it turning into almost a state of Nagisa's laugh. The rest of the group confusedly looked at us.
It was uncertain...but it was going to be alright.
My happiness levels were through the roof, I had friends, and most of all I had a place in the life I was now living. I can't remember everything or even be able to sort out everything but it was going to be a less rocky road.
