Chapter 11: Where to Land

Point of View: Anastasia Steele

I throw up my hand, "I don't care what you have to say. I just wanted to let you know that you didn't ruin me or my mother. We are stronger than ever and you're a nonexistent factor in my life. The only time I think of you is when I realize how grateful I am that I escaped your tyranny all those years ago. If you never see the light of day again I'll throw a party. If you die, I'll dance on your grave. Pretty much what I'm saying is that you're a sick human being and I hope you have a miserable life."

I walk out the room completely muting out his voice as Tiara and Christian follow me. I don't think I've ever felt this good in my life.

I finally get home and plop down on the couch only to get right back up to answer the door. When I see whom it is, I completely freeze up, "Uh what are you doing here?"

"I was about to go back to work but realized I had some free time."

"Christian Grey never has free time."

"True… but I carve some out when I need it." We continue to stare at each other in silence, "Do I have to stand out here or-"

"Right! Um come on in."

He walks in with grace as if he's on a cloud, examining my new home, "I wouldn't peg you for the city. You seem more of an outskirts girl."

"The city makes me feel alive… something I haven't felt in a long time. Wine?"

"I'm fine thank you."

"Suit yourself." I pull down the biggest wine glass I have and fill it halfway full knowing that I will need wine to endure this visit. "Please sit make yourself at home."

He sits down on the couch and I quickly debate where I should sit but choose to sit on the other end of the same couch. Christian quickly notices the space, obviously not favoring it, but leans back putting his ankle to his knee.

"So why did you decide to spend your break with me?"

"I just wanted to make sure that you were alright after our," He shifts in his seat, "relations."

"I'm alright I feel as if a weight has been slightly lifted. I will admit that my days without out you were way less than stellar."

"The feeling is mutual. My true intention for coming here is that I wanted to apologize for making you feel as if I didn't care enough. When you were gone it was like someone set my heart on fire making me feel so many emotions all at once. I didn't know how to handle that but I promise you were the only thing on my mind. I couldn't eat, I couldn't sleep, and I damn sure couldn't think. Also, I'm so unbelievably sorry for everything that you went through over me."

Christian takes a deep breath before scooting closer to me making my heart pound through my chest. He takes my hand, holding it tight, as he looks deep into my eyes.

"I never want to hurt you again. I never want you to be out of my life. I promise I will always be there for you and if it's in my power, I will protect you from all harm. I need you back I want you back. I need my one and only best friend. I know I shouldn't even ask but please, can we just start over?"

I don't even realize I'm crying until the tears hit my chest. "Uh… um… I… I would like that." I swallow the ball in my throat and then without thinking, hug Christian with all my might. "I missed you. I'm sorry for what I said to you I take it all back. I never want you to think I hate you, you don't deserve that."

We finally pull away but I can tell that both of us crave more. He has that look on his face that tells me all the time that he wants for us to be close. That closeness always leads us to a bed or a convenient surface.

"We shouldn't," I murmur.

"I need to feel you."

"We're not ready. We weren't ready last time."

"This isn't like last time."

"Just give me time."

Christian nods then gets up, "I should get back to work."

I get up, "Alright I'll see you tomorrow."

I begin to show Christian to the door but he pulls me close and kisses me as if his life depends on it. Then just as if he did nothing, he walks out.

I wake up bright and early allowing myself to take my time. I know if I rush, I'll end up a mess and have a panic attack. My chest clenches up realizing I'll spend my whole day with Christian. We haven't been around each other for that long in months.

After finally finding a dress to put on, I grab my coffee and run out the door. The closer I get, the stronger my urge gets to pee. When I roll into the parking garage, I see way more cars than are usually here at this time. I decide to blame it on the fact I haven't been here in awhile and things probably changed.

My anxiety builds up the higher I get in the sky tempting me to take a pill. Right when I'm about to cave in, the elevator doors glide apart. I blink a couple of times before stepping out. I quickly notice that many people recognize my presence obviously thinking my absence was permanent.

"Good morning Tiara. Nice to have you back," Andrea says with a smile.

"Good morning Andrea. It's nice to be back." I walk a little faster than my usual wanting to avoid the possibility of an awkward run in.

"Tiara!" I turn into stone then slowly turn around to piercing grey eyes. "My office, now."

With a sigh, I walk into his office wanting to be anywhere but here. Christian sits on the couch motioning me to sit with him. I obey but instantly want space between us.

"Good morning. I'm surprised you didn't come see me."

"I didn't know I was supposed to."

"Well I just wanted to catch you up. Every executive reports at 8 it's not optional anymore. Instead of end of the week reports, there's end of the day reports. Every department has a meeting at the end of week to discuss their progress and agenda. Every two weeks every department head meets with me and we discuss the same thing. Our focus lately has been to expand GEH to a global level. Therefore, there's going to be a couple of trips and I'll need my right hand there."

"Who was your right hand when I was gone?"

"Anastasia. She didn't work here everyday she was just here for drawing up and reviewing contracts mostly."

I nod my head letting everything sink in slowly. "Alright then. Is that all boss?"

His eyes skim over me once before meeting my eyes again, "I think so. If you feel overwhelmed just ask for some help. I completely understand that everything won't click back in one day."

I nod again then get up but not fast enough, "Oh and did I mention how gorgeous you look?"

My face begins to burn up, "Uh no but thank you."

He nods then follows me with his eyes as I leave the room.

I walk into the living room and drop my keys on the coffee table greeted by Ian.

"Hey there."

"Hey," I respond before plopping down on the couch.

"How was your last meeting with Grey?"

I swallow, "The usual. I could tell he was nervous about Tiara coming back."

"That's understandable. At least they're trying to move forward."

I raise an eyebrow before I get up to change. As I walk away Ian continues, "Anastasia do you want Grey?"

I stop in my tracks and turn around to face him.
