A/N: I know that I have used a few modern-type things and after doing a little bit more research, I realize that Ancient Greeks didn't wear anything close to pants, night-clothes, underwear, etc. However, I am merely going by what was seen on the show. I never claimed this would be historically accurate. LOL

A/N2: For those of you who have reviewed, THANK YOU! If I haven't gotten back to everyone, please take no offense. I appreciate that you took the time to read and review! More than you know! I couldn't do this without your feedback! So, again, THANK YOU! :o)

I let out a sigh of relief when we stopped for the day at one of our usual rest spots. I slid from the saddle and was headed straight for the warm water when I was stopped by a hand grabbing the back of my shirt. I looked up to see Momma grinning at me.

"Hold on there, youngster. There's still some work to do before we can relax."

Another sigh escaped me, "Oh okay."

I heard her chuckle as she let go of my shirt, only to yelp in surprise when she gave me a swat. "Go help take care of the horses, then help your Mom set up camp."

"Aw Momma!"

"Go on. We will go hunting together another day."

"But-"

"It's been a long day and you did really well riding all day but you are tired and sore."

I know she was trying to reason with me and the part of me that was growing up agreed with her, but the part of me that was still 'little' didn't care. I knew better, but I couldn't help myself, I crossed my arms over my chest and stomped my foot. "Not fair!" I muttered darkly.

"What is 'not fair', little girl, is your attitude." Momma scolded. "Now please go do as I have asked."

"Yes Momma."

"Thank you, Little One."

I resisted the urge to stomp my way over to the horses, however I valued the ability to sit in the saddle a bit more than I did my momentary frustration. It didn't take me long to make sure the horses were fed and watered. I removed Tess' saddle and started brushing her down. I talked to her quietly, spilling all of my feelings out to her. When I was done, I gave her a kiss on the nose and a small apple that I had found. "Thanks girl. You're the best."

Adhara walked over to her horse at that moment to remove the saddle. "I can brush her down for you, if you like?"

She smiled at me, "Thank you Princess, I've got it though. My horse and I are still getting acquainted and she's sort of skittish."

"Oh...okay." I nodded, "That makes sense."

I walked over to a tree stump and removed Argo's saddle, talking to her quietly. I brushed her gently, taking my time as she nickered and lipped at my ears. When I was done, I set our bedrolls on the opposite side of the fire from Adhara, Sorsha and Tania's.

"Is there anything I can help you with, Mom?"

"No," She shook her head. "I don't think so. Why don't you take a look around for some firewood?"

"Sure." Oh well poop. My least favorite chore. I had a pretty decent sized pile gathered by the time Momma got back. Finally I was given the 'okay' to go soak in the warm springs.

I listened to the adults talk about perimeter checks and night watch schedules as I gathered my clothes in a pile and waded out into the water. I sat in the shallow water and felt my muscles relax. I was more sore than I cared to admit but I was determined to stick it out. I knew that I had nothing to prove to my parents but since we had royal 'escorts', I didn't want to be seen as a weakling.

"Bath time, Little One."

I looked up to see Mom holding out the soap and a rag, "Aw Mom!"

"You might as well since you are in the water." She dropped the rag on my head, so that I would have no choice but to take it. "I'll put your towel and nightshirt here for when you are done."

"Yes Mom." I sighed. I really didn't have a problem with bathing, I just wanted to sit here in the water and relax. I slipped a little lower in the water and did just that until I could no longer delay the inevitable. I grabbed the soap and made quick work of getting cleaned up. Climbing out of the water proved to be a challenge as the air had chilled considerably and I was more than happy to plunk back down in the warm water. However, Momma caught sight of my movement and forbade me from doing just that. I hurriedly dried off and pulled my nightclothes on.

By the time I sat down at the fire, Mom was dishing up bowls of stew. I took mine and sat down next to Momma, "What is it?"

"Rabbit."

I nodded as I dipped my spoon in the still hot stew and blew on it to cool it off. I leaned against Momma as I finished my meal, I left a few bites of meat in my bowl and placed it on the ground for Mica. I watched her as she happily licked it clean and looked up at me, as if to tell me she liked it. Yawing, I rubbed her head and ears as I reached down for the bowl. "That's it for tonight, girl."

Mom and I made quick work of cleaning up the dishes and took care of what was left over for the morning. Afterward, Momma and Mom left me with Sorsha while they went to get cleaned up themselves. Between the heat from the fire and Mica leaning against me, I could no longer keep my eyes open. Crawling under my blankets and curling up with Mica, I fell asleep quickly.

The mighty huntress silently crept through the trees. Her prey in sight and taking aim, she let the crossbow bolt fly through the air with a quiet whistle. Her trusty sidekick at her side, wiggled in anticipation of the retrieval of said prey.

A faraway sound brought the huntress back to reality. "Cadi!"

"Oh poop!" I muttered as I made my way back to camp. "Just when I was getting into it!"

"Come on Cadi, it's time to get going!"

"I'm coming!" I yelled back as I tromped back through the trees to camp.

Mom shook her head at me as I broke through the treeline, "What were you doing, Little One?"

"Just playing." I shrugged.

"With your crossbow?" I watched a blond eyebrow creep up her forehead in a fair imitation of Momma.

Gulp. "Umm...no?"

"Cadence..."

I heard the warning tone in her voice. "Kinda. I don't have any bolts for it."

Shaking her head at me, she turned me around gave me a swat and told me to saddle up before I found any further trouble. I was smart and rapidly took her advice.

I sighed with relief as the edge of Amphipolis came into view as we rode over the crest of a hill. I heard Momma say that it would only be about another candle-mark before we reached the Inn. We urged our horses on, in anticipation of rest and Gramma's food.

Finally reaching our destination, we all were happy to allow the stable-hand to take care of the horses. We entered the Inn to find it mostly empty, I looked up at Momma quizzically.

"It's not quite meal time yet, Little One."

I nodded, thankful since I had Mica at my side. Gramma was going to freak out as it was and I didn't want to frighten off any of her customers. I walked through the dining area toward the kitchen, "Gramma!"

The door swung open in a matter of moments and my grandmother came flying through it. "Oh my goodness!"

"Hi Mom." I watched as Momma hugged her mother and giggled when she squeaked because Gramma squeezed too hard.

"I didn't know you all would get here so soon!" Gramma looked around and reached for me. "Oh my...look at my granddaughter! Who allowed you to get so big?"

I hugged her tightly and laughed, "Momma asked me the same question."

She hugged Mom and asked how she was. While the adults were talking, I made my way to the back of the building where the family quarters are. Gramma and Momma were happy to give me Momma's old room. I opened the door and suddenly realized that I had outgrown yet another bed. Hmm...I would have to talk to Momma after everyone was done greeting each other. Mica nudged my hand and I looked down at her with a smile, "Kinda different, huh girl?"

I opened the window to let in some fresh air and flopped down on my bed. The breeze was oddly warm and I felt over dressed. I removed my jacket, boots and socks and instantly felt so much better. I stretched out my sore muscles and was happy that I wasn't nearly as sore as I was the first day of our journey. Thankfully, it is only a two day trip from home, especially when you leave at sun-up.

My stomach let out a growl worthy of Mica and I found myself suddenly ravenous for something to eat. Preferably Gramma's cooking and something other than fish. "Goddess, I hope fish isn't on the menu tonight."

I scampered down the hallway and back into the kitchen, there I found my mother's, Gramma and the Guards sitting at the family table. They were discussing how long Adhara, Sorsha and Tania would stay and rest before returning to the village.
