Ruby lit the last candle they possibly had in the loft, allowing it to let off a soft glow. It felt like their home back in the Enchanted Forest…if that home had indoor plumbing and an electric stove. She turned around to find Snow lowering Neal into his bassinet and pressing a kiss to his forehead. She smiled at the two of them, walking behind her wife and placing a hand on the small of her back.

"I swear he's got the opposite features that Emma got from the two of you."

"All babies have blue eyes," Snow gently reminded her.

Ruby shook her head. "These will stick, I know they will. And he's already got a dusting of dark hair. Just like his mommy."

Snow grinned at her beneath the candlelight and kissed her. "Are Emma and David okay?"

"Yes, they're out to see whatever caused this blackout. Henry didn't want to go, so he stayed behind at Granny's."

Snow sighed, rubbing the back of her neck. "That poor boy. He feels so helpless."

There was a sudden knock at the door and Ruby headed towards it. "Can't say I blame Regina, though." She reached for the knob. "If I lost you or David, I don't know what I'd do with myself."

Ruby opened the door and before she could even blink, three blurred blobs rushed towards her. Adjusting her vision under the candlelight, she saw that it was Grumpy, Happy and Granny. That was an odd combination

"Just come in, I guess," she mumbled.

Grumpy peered over, looking towards the basinet and Snow. "Aww, look at the baby."

Snow beamed. "Thanks."

Grumpy's tone instantly changed. "Is what I'd say if I could look at the baby." Snow and Ruby looked up in confusion at his annoyance. "But I can't. Why? Because it's dark."

Snow went to speak, but Happy instantly cut her off. That made Ruby's neck twinge a bit. "You know what else we can't look at? The internet, TV, my clock."

Ruby stood back, studying the dwarf and wondered if he had always complained this much. Normally, that was Grumpy's job and it made sense given his title. Wasn't Happy supposed to be a bit…nicer?

"Happy's right," Grumpy continued. "The power's out."

"Thank you for your astute observation," Ruby said.

Grumpy fixed her with a glare before looking back at Snow. "So, whatchya gonna do about it, Sister?"

Snow's face scrunched up. "Me? I think you mean, Regina? The mayor?"

"She doesn't want the job anymore," Granny spoke up. "This is your curse. You're the mayor now."

That made no sense to Ruby. One, why would Regina willingly give up a town that she created? Sure, she was heartbroken but when she finally got her bearings, she was going to want it back. Two, just because Snow created the curse, didn't mean that the town was her responsibility. Regina had been the one to essentially save it from Zelena. Besides, Snow was a new mother, Neal was barely a week old. She wasn't ready to return to being a teacher yet, much less run a town.

"I am?" Snow asked, clearly exhausted and stunned.

"We helped you take your kingdom back, remember?" Grumpy asked, in an accusatory tone. "So you could rule. Well, this is your kingdom now. So rule it."

Snow looked entirely confused and yet, was moving towards her jacket. Ruby couldn't believe what was going on. She gently stepped in front of her wife, putting a hand on her arm.

"Snow, is this really what you want to do?"

"Well…no," Snow whispered. "But they're right, it was my curse…"

"And it's Regina's town. She can take care of it or they can call an electrician. Hell, they can go find Gold and have him use his magic to fix it."

"But they're asking me, and they did help us take back the kingdom…"

"That doesn't mean anything. Snow, in this realm, you're a wife, you're a mother and one of the most important things, you're a teacher. It's what you love doing. You said it's what you wanted to go back to once Neal was a little older."

"Well, yes, but…"

"But what?"

Snow sighed, rubbing her hand over her eyes. "I just don't want to let them down. I feel like I have already."

"Hey, you didn't let anyone down." Ruby gently kissed her forehead. "You're exhausted."

"Well, I've gotten about 8 hours of sleep in the past week, I'm breastfeeding…"

"Which is exactly why you need some rest. Go lay down. I'll take care of the crowd and the baby for a bit."

"Rubes…"

"You just fed him, so he'll be good for another couple of hours. Go."

Snow gave her wife a grateful smile, before pushing past the tiny mob and heading for the bed. Grumpy craned his neck, looking impatient.

"Where is she going?'

"To get some rest," Ruby said, firmly.

"But the power…"

"Is not her problem."

"She cast this curse!"

"That doesn't make her the mayor. Last I checked, Regina was still performing her duties. So, go bug her about it. If you're too afraid, go talk to Gold or an electrician or anyone else, but do not bother my wife."

"Ruby," Granny cut in.

"No, Granny. I can't even believe you're here. You raised my mother and me, you know how stressful it is to have a newborn." A look of disgust overtook Ruby's face. "I can't even believe you listened to Dumb and Dumber over here."

"Hey!" Happy and Grumpy protested.

Ruby ignored them. "Snow is not fixing this. And I honestly don't care how long the power is out, considering where we're all from. You all can figure out how to manage."

She walked over to the door and opened it, gesturing outward.

"Goodbye."

Granny, Happy and Grumpy stood there for a minute, all looking perplexed. Their eyes flickered between Ruby and Snow, the latter of which was now curled up in bed. It took them a few moments to finally understand that Ruby wasn't bullshitting them and they headed for the door, Grumpy mumbling that they'd go ask Regina again. Granny was the last one out and she paused, biting down on her lip.

"I'm just worried about the diner, the freezer…"

"Backup generator is in storage. Have Henry help you dig it out, you can plug it in," Ruby said, shortly.

"I never meant…"

"I know. We'll talk about this later. Right now, I have my wife and son to take care of."

Granny nodded and left. Ruby shut the door behind her, letting out a sigh. She would stop being angry at her grandmother later and they'd make up, they always did. In the meantime, she had a baby to snuggle.
