Entry 37 – November 11, 2012

I don't mind having lazy days at all. Sometimes it's more fun to do nothing than a whole bunch of stuff. Today was one of those days. When I met up with Daniel at the clearing, I noticed that he wasn't immediately jumping up and down. This usually meant he wanted to show me somewhere. I later asked him if he had any ideas where he wanted to go, he just shook his head. This was a bit of a surprise to me. I kinda came under the impression that Daniel always had a place in mind. Maybe he was just out of it today. I suggested going over to the tree-house to hang out. Daniel showed a mild display of glad concordance. "Alright, let's go...Daniel." I said a bit awkwardly. I could tell almost immediately that Daniel was interested to why I sorta slipped up when using his name. He had an inquisitive look on his face, the kind that doesn't demand answers, but merely coaxes them out. I couldn't ignore a face like that. "Yeah, I'm still getting used to calling you, well, Daniel." I said, explaining my uneasiness. We started to walk towards the tree-house. I was kinda thinking about the whole name thing and not really paying attention to my surroundings. When we got close to the tree-house, I felt something brush up against my side. I snapped back into reality and noticed it was Daniel. "Oops." I said, with a slightly embarrassed chuckle. Daniel passed me and looked back at me with a grin. I don't really know what that was about. Maybe he was just teasing me a bit since I wasn't paying attention. When we got to the tree-house, I decided to just sit down up against the tree. Daniel sat close to me where there was lots of pine-straw on the ground. He seemed like he was expecting me to say something the way he was viewing me. "Do you still like the name 'Daniel'?" I asked the dragon. He nodded his head happily. "Okay, I'm just making sure." I said to him. "I just want to make sure that once I get used to your name that you will still be okay with it." I continued to explain how I wasn't really good at remembering names. Daniel seemed to be really interested in this. I then started talking about other things about me, my strengths and weaknesses. By the time it was almost dinner time, I didn't even stand up. We left for the day and returned for the night about an hour later. This time, I was in my desk chair in my tree-house. I was surprised how curious Daniel was about the aspects of my life. If only he could tell me things about his own life. That would be beyond cool. I think I should start saying "Daniel" more often, then I can get used to his name easier.
