Me: Wow, I'm a little disappointed that the last chapter didn't get any reviews.

Trin: Can't win 'em all bro.

Me: Good point, and yes, I OPed John in his biotic abilities. I think it's awesome and I don't give a shit if you disagree. Filler-story chapter while I work on Johnson's loyalty mission.

John (Shepard): Anyone see what happened to TIM? I wanted to mount his head on my wall.

Me: Um…

John (Master Chief): Over the fireplace.

John (Shep): Fuckin shit, no one told me we were gutting him because?

Me: Oh it was a lot more than just gutting. On with the story!

Eternal Salvation: Johnson's Team

Reality ME4, Dimension a2, UNSC space, UNSC Cronos Station:

"So how long until the rest of your fleet gets here?" Johnson asked the Sangheili Shipmaster.

"Another hour at most," the Shipmaster replied. "When I told them that both of the members Keyes family were alive, the coms went silent for a bit."

"I can understand why."

"I heard that the flagship still needs a Captain and XO though. Do you think your Captain Keyes will get it?"

"Hell yeah. You here about him during the war?"

"Rumors that after the death of your Admiral Cole, a couple of ship Captains were able to match what he accomplished. The name Keyes had come up during a conversation I had with my former Shipmaster."

"What did he say about him?"

"That he can fly a ship like the demons fight."

"That he can," Johnson said as the intercom sounded.

"[Sergeant Major Johnson, report to medical bay D5,]" someone said.

Johnson said goodbye to the Shipmaster before sprinting towards the medical bay. As he was running he nearly rammed into a SPARTAN in black armor with bright red highlights. He stopped and looked at her. The fact that he could tell that the SPARTAN was a woman confused him a bit.

"Sorry Sergeant," the SPARTAN said before running towards a group of other SPARTANs that had the same highlight color on their armor, but different main colors and armor configurations.

He shook his head before continuing towards the medical bay. Ten minutes later he was standing in front of, the recently arrived, Fleet Admiral Lord Terrence Hood, Captain Keyes, Commander Keyes, and someone with a robotic arm. Johnson saluted and stood at attention until they noticed him.

"Avery, at ease soldier, glad you made it," Jacob said as Johnson relaxed.

"Sirs, why am I here?" Johnson asked as the last person in the group turned around.

"Because if they wanted to make SPARTAN IVs, they should have let me make the criteria," Dr. Catherine Elizabeth Halsey said as she turned to face him. "You, Sergeant, fit into that criteria perfectly."

"Because I survived ORION?"

"That and several other things," Halsey said as she turned back around. "Oh, and you will now be under the command of Admiral Keyes."

"…As glad as I am that you made Admiral, sir, I have a mission to complete first," Johnson said.

"Good, because that was what I was doing either way," Jacob said as he put the Admiral's star onto his uniform.

"What?"

"The Captain and I will be the ship that carries the Normandy into certain areas, its refueling/resupply station, and central control."

"What does that have to do with me coming here though?"

"Easy," Miranda said as she pinned the Captain's bars and star onto her uniform, "you're here to become a SPARTAN IV."

Johnson stood there stunned. He had fought alongside the Chief and a few other SPARTANs. He knew what they could do. The thought of him being one was almost too much for him to process. He looked over to his left and saw a set of armor that looked like a mix between the armor the woman he ran into earlier wore, and what some of her team wore [Black and grey for the colors, with Warrior helmet, Soldier chest piece, Recruit shoulders, and red visor].

"So, do you accept Johnson?" Lord Hood asked him.

"Hell yeah!" Johnson shouted proudly.

"Follow me please, Sergeant," Dr. Halsey said to him. "What have I been saying, the next step in evolution is my SPARTANs."

"So now what?" Johnson asked as they got to an operation table.

"Lie down on the table and remove any restrictive clothing," Halsey said as she walked over to check on a machine with all the chemicals that would be needed for the augmentations.

Johnson striped down to his bowers and laid on the table as Halsey pressed a button. The Machine activated and several needles went into him at various places. Halsey double checked that everything was there and ready. Satisfied, she nodded her head.

"This is going to hurt worse than anything you experienced before Sergeant," Halsey said.

"I can handle it."

"Good luck and you need to stay as relaxed as you can," she said before pressing a button to release the chemicals into Johnson.

Suddenly Johnson felt the worst pain he had ever felt. He tried to stay relaxed as the pain continued on. After 30 minutes it was over. The room seemed to be getting darker around Johnson as looked around.

"Sergeant? Can you hear me?" Halsey asked as everything started to turn black. Johnson nodded his head while he could. "Good, you can rest now."

Johnson obliged as he instantly passed out. Halsey nodded as Crimson team leader walked into the room. Her helmet was of, revealing her short black hair and red eyes.

She walked over to the Admirals and Captain before saluting. They saluted back and she walked over to Halsey.

"Gunnery Sergeant Gabriela Carter reporting as ordered Doc," the woman said to her.

"Hello Gabriela, I assume you are here to help Johnson get used to how his body will be now?" Halsey asked with a smile.

Maria was one of the few of her SPARTANs that had managed to have a normal life. Gabby was living proof of that. The SPARTAN IV was the daughter of one of her SPARTAN IIs.

"Yes ma'am. Once that is completed, I'm to report to Eternal Salvation."

"What?"

"The new Infinity class flagship of the Sangheili/UNSC fleet. The split lips were allowed to name her," Gabby said with an eye roll.

"Well I hope they know what they're doing."

"Hopefully. Now why is the head of ONI here?"

"I wanted to see this artifact for myself. Right now Osman and her team are guarding it."

"I still can't believe you let her stay in ONI," Miranda said after walking over.

"She was still one of my SPARTANs and KILO 5 is a good team. They have their uses," Halsey said.

"Even after she ordered your execution?"

"Yes, even with that, but really I'm mad at Palmer for actually following those orders."

"That why you have her just defending random places and not in combat?"

"That's what happened to Commander Palmer? I thought she was still on the Infinity."

"Oh I'll have to put her back there eventually, but I think she needs to learn her lesson first."

"That's cold," Johnson said as he got back up, almost falling over at first.

"You alright Sergeant Major?" Gabby asked as she helped him stand up.

"I got it. I'll be good to go in a few hours."

Johnson then went over to the armor and put on it's under layer before heading out of the room. True to his word, Johnson returned after only a few hours and started putting on the armor. The last piece he needed to put on was the helmet, and at first he just held it in his hands. He looked at its 'face' as the singular line type visor stared back at him. He spun the helmet around and put it on.

"Fells like a second skin right?" Gabby said with a smirk.

"Yeah it does. Now where's the Normandy, I need to report in with the Commander," Johnson asked as he and Gabby left.

"It should be docked with the Salvation."

"What?"

"The flagship of the joint UNSC/Sangheili fleet. It's an Infinity class vessel."

As she was saying this, they stopped in front of a Pelican transport that would bring them to the ship. The pilot saluted before heading into the cockpit. Johnson and Gabby went into it to see several Alliance Marines also inside. Gabby raised an eyebrow at that, but shrugged after and took a seat. Johnson took a seat also and looked around the cargo bay. The Pelican launched as soon as he was strapped in.

"Hey, what's with the mech?" one Alliance marine asked before Johnson could take off his helmet.

"Not a mech," Johnson said as he removed it.

"Whoa…didn't see that coming," another Alliance marine said.

"[Get ready to dock,]" the pilot said from the cockpit as they landed inside a new ship.

The Alliance soldiers stepped off the Pelican transport to find a hanger that was far larger than any Alliance, or Council, vessel in existence. They saw a group of four people walk towards one of the two heavily armored people that were with them [The Images of these 4 are on deviant art (note that they are unarmored].

"Hey Gunny," the only woman in the group said to Gabby, "glad your back."

"Yeah, usual when you get back it means a new mission," the African member of the group said.

"Good to see you two Jaxs," Gabby said in response.

"So who's the new guy?" the blond member said.

"That is Sergeant Major Avery Johnson."

"Glad to see you meeting with other S4s," Admiral Keyes said as he walked up to them.

"Glad to be aboard sir."

"Good, just so you know, we don't have an AI yet. Catherine said something about bringing back an old friend of ours though."

"Then how the hell are we able to get enough men and women to run this thing?"

"Temp AI, we'll be getting a permanent one later," Jacob said before nodding to Gabby.

She saluted in return before she and her team walked off. Johnson stood there for a moment before Gabby turned around and waved him over. Johnson ran up and followed them. They walked up to one of the ship's many elevators and waited. It opened to reveal Commander Shepard standing there, looking completely lost.

"How fucking big is this ship?" she asked Johnson.

"Why?" Johnson asked in response.

"Because I lost Tali, Liara, and John, the later of which was helping me look for the former two."

"Wow…I'm not sure how to respond to that," Gabby said as she rubbed the back of her neck.

"Oh come on, our ship's aren't even half this size."

"True, the Normandy was able to fit into hanger three."

"Exact…there's more than one hanger!?"

At this point Avery was trying not to laugh. Jane's face was making that harder as every time something like that was brought up her eyes went wide. Johnson shook his head before thinking of something.

"You need someone to show you around?" Johnson asked.

"Oh no, I was just gonna walked around until I starved to death," Jane said sarcastically as she rolled her eyes.

"Well then good luck," Avery said as he started to walk off.

"I was being sarcastic!" Jane shouted as the three of them, Gabby's team had already left, got into the elevator.

"Let's check the R&D Deck first," Gabby said before hitting a button.

"You-…," Jane started to say.

"Please stop being surprised by all of this."

"Sorry, it's just a little overwhelming."

Avery shook his head. It was going to be a long day.

Reality ME4, Dimension a2, edge of UNSC/Sangheili space, Precursor Teleportation Ring (Stargate):

"Hey Vaz," Mal Geffen said..

"What?" Vaz Beloi said.

"Why the hell are we doing this?"

"Because, Mal, the Captain got found out, and it was either do whatever the fuck Halsey said, or be hanged."

"Right," Mal looked around and spotted something strange. "Is that a tank?"

"…That can't be good," Vaz said as the tank got closer before stopping in front of them.

Once it had stopped, multiple aliens had stepped out of it. Several of them looked like giant scaled birds, another looked like a blue woman with tentacles coming out of her head, and the last looked like a giant bipedal frog.

"How much you wanna bet they're here to kick us off?" Mal asked in a whisper.

"…50cR," Vaz replied after some thought just before one of the frogs spoke up.

"Soldiers of the Systems Alliance, the Citadel Council has ordered this Prothean artifact be removed from your care and placed under Council control." The frog said.

"How to put this without hurtin' their feelings," Mal said as Vaz gave him his 50cR.

"Hell no," Vaz said as he clutched his AR.

"If you disobey laws regarding Prothean artifacts, then you will be punished."

"…Well then come and see us when we're at a 'Prothean' artifact. This here ring is Precursor, not 'Prothean,' Kermit," Mal said as he clutched his shotgun.

"That's it, Spectre, arrest them!" the frog shouted at one of the birds.

It pulled out its pistol as Mal and Vaz pulled out their guns and aimed at both the frog and the bird. No body moved as three others appeared. Two of the newcomers were in the same armor as Vaz and Mal, their names were Lian Devereaux and Serin Osman, but the other wasn't. She was wearing MJOLNIR MK VII armor. This person was Naomi Sentzke, KILO 5's SPARTAN II member.

"I suggest you stand down, get back on your ship, and run away with your tails between your legs," Vaz said as Dev and Naomi readied their weapons.

"Three soldiers and a mech do not instill fear," one of the birds replied as the aimed at Naomi.

"BB, show these alien assholes why they should fear and respect the UNSC…and ONI."

"[With pleasure,]" Black Box said as he took over their tank and aimed the cannon at them.

"Also Naomi, that's the big one over there, isn't a mech; she's a living breathing super soldier," Mal said with a smirk beneath his helmet.

"Turians do not bow, no matter what," the bird said as he fired a shot at Naomi.

She moved out of the way before it could even hit her as Dev took cover and called for backup. Almost immediately after she sent out the signal, several UNSC Frigates appeared and targeted the single Council Frigate. It instantly turned and started heading to the mass relay, abandoning the soldiers it had on the ground. The Turian watched as the ship that was meant to take them back to Council Space when they had control, was running away and leaving them for dead.

"Aw, does Polly want a cracker to make him feel better?" Mal said to the Turian as he hit the frog with the butt [stock, or the part that goes against your shoulder] of his shotgun.

"Mal, shut up and shoot," Naomi said as the team started firing at the Council Specters, who quickly surrendered.

Reality ME4, Dimension a2, Council Space, the Citadel, Presidium Tower:

"…And that is my report," the Asari Captain Daras Harlen finished.

The Councilors looked at Anderson. Tevos with concern, Sparatus with anger, and the Salarian Councilor with confusion.

"I don't know about any Alliance troops even being near the artifact," Anderson said with his hands raised. "Nor do I know about any new type of Alliance Dreadnaughts."

"Yet the Morning Star was sent running by human vessels," Sparatus said.

"And we know about a new group of humans as well," the Salarian Councilor.

"You expect me to believe that this…UNSC has so many Dreadnaughts that they can send them on simple defense missions?" Sparatus questioned.

"We don't know anything about the UNSC except that they're human, Sparatus. For all we know, Dreadnaughts are the only class of ship the UNSC has," Anderson said as Tevos nodded in agreement.

"Councilor Anderson is right, but we need to figure out who started this fight, and end it quickly, it could lead to a war," Tevos said.

"Agreed," the Salarian Councilor and Anderson said.

"…Alright, you have a point," Sparatus said.

"Who should we send?" Tevos asked.

"Danrus Fahnok, he has experience in shutting down threats of this magnitude," Sparatus says.

"We need a diplomat, not a soldier. I vote Jane Shepard," Anderson said.

"…Councilor Anderson is correct. This situation requires a diplomatic touch, not a soldier's gun. I also vote for Jane Shepard," Tevos said as the Councilors looked at the Salarian Councilor.

"I vote Jane Shepard as well."

"It's settled then, we send the Normandy to stop a possible war."

Reality ME4, Dimension a2, Uncharted Space, COR Flagship Pillar of Autumn:

A tiny portal appeared above a giant ship. Through the portal came what seemed like a dot compared to the ship. In actuality it was another ship. The COR Prowler Death's Scythe entered the hanger of the giant Ship that was larger than the Citadel. Once it was docked, a group of soldiers wearing specialized armor stepped out. They were greeted by the High Commander of the COR, and he was not happy.

"What the hell do you think 'do not be seen' means?" Alexander Aldanna, codenamed Legion, asked.

"The mission changed sir," Jenkins replied as his helmet folded up.

"No it did not, you're lucky that I have to deal with my daughter being in the new universe the entire time."

"Of course sir, this won't happen again."

"That's what you said last time Wallace," Legion said as he walked off.

Outside the Autumn, several Geth Heretic ships appeared. They readied their weapons and aimed them at the giant vessel. Suddenly it turned with speeds that seemed impossible for something so large. As it did this several weapon turrets turned and fired. The Heretic vessels fired as well, but their shots were stopped by a powerful shield. The shots from the COR ships caused the Geth vessels to no longer exist. The COR Flagship then created a portal and went through it.

Reality ME4, Dimension a2, Terminus Systems, Omega Orbit, UNSC/Sangheili Flagship Eternal Salvation:

"So you and Samara are going down there to kill her daughter? That's one fucked up family reunion," Johnson said as he stood outside the Normandy SR2.

"Tell me about it. So you're a super soldier now?" John asked him in response.

"Yeah, and I still get to help you and your sisters on your mission."

"That seems like just a bit of over kill."

"And everything else about the UNSC isn't?"

"True," John said as he got on the Normandy. "We'll be back later."

Johnson turned around to see Amber talking to Kaiden. It looked like she was arguing with him about something. He then remembered that he could hear them from here. He focused on what they were saying.

"…and I'm telling you that trying to do what John can do with out the proper training could cause brain damage at best," Amber said to him.

"And I'm telling you that I can do it, I just need a good enough biotic implant," Kaiden said as he crossed his arms.

"Why the hell do you think it works that way? It's not the implant that gives you the amount of power; it's how much you train yourself. John told me he had been training since he was eight years old."

"And I'm telling you that I can do it to."

"Alenko, if you aren't going to take the advice of a medic, then you are going to get yourself killed."

"She has a point Kaiden," Johnson said as he walked over. "The docs are usually right about this shit."

"…Fine," Kaiden said reluctantly.

"Thank you Avery. Kaiden, please listen to me next time, it would be a hell of a lot easier."

"Alright Doc, I'll listen next time," Kaiden said.

"Good," Amber said as she started to walk off.

"Hey Doc, think you'd have time to get a drink with me later?" Kaiden asked Amber.

"…Sure," she said as Gabby walked over to Johnson.

"Hey, Sergeant, You need to pick your team," she said to him.

"Where to?" Avery asked her.

"S-Deck, just follow me."

They left as Kaiden went over to a random marine and asked were the mess hall was. Johnson and Gabby got onto an elevator that went straight to S-Deck. Johnson started to think about who he should pick. He then remembered who his best team was made up of.

"They were a band of misfits and odd-men-out…let's see if I can pick a team similar to them," he thought to himself.

Once they got to S-Deck, Johnson started to look around at who was there. A few of the soldiers in the area they were at were even Sangheili Spec Ops troops. As he was looking around, he saw a single Sangheili female in Ranger armor, minus the helmet that was on the floor near her, practicing alone in the back of the room.

"Who's that?" Johnson asked Gabby.

"In the back? That's Darla Gartomee'. Supposedly she held off an entire Storm Covenant battalion on her own, with just two energy swords. Not sure how much truth is actually in that," Gabby said.

"There a reason she's on her own?"

"She's apparently kind of shy, go figure," Gabby said with a shrug.

"I'll take her," Johnson said.

"…Um…ok, any one else?"

Johnson looked around again, but didn't see anyone else that he wanted. He shook his head as Gabby called over Darla. She then led both of them to another room on S-Deck. This one had only S-IVs in it. Johnson looked around and saw a SPARTAN IV that was helping a few newer IVs learn how to keep their armor in peek condition.

"Him," Johnson said.

"Drake, get your ass over here," Gabby called.

Said SPARTAN IV walked over as the IVs he was helping began to repair damages on their armor. Johnson shook his hand as they went to another room. The next one had only Sangheili. Johnson saw one in the back with Assault armor and a red cross on his shoulders. The other Spec Ops soldiers seemed to be avoiding him.

"What's with him?" Johnson asked.

"We don't really…like having medics," Darla said quietly.

"Well we need a medic, so I hope you can get over it."

"I don't mind."

As the Sangheili medic walked over, the team started heading towards the next room. This one had only one person, and she was working on a Saber. The SPARTAN IV stopped what she was doing and looked over at the group.

"Hey Darla," she said to the Sangheili female before going back to working on her Saber.

"Hi Vicky," the Sangheili said before going back to not talking.

"Her also," Johnson said as Gabby raised her eyebrow.

"She's not much of team player, Johnson," Gabby said to him.

"She'll learn," Avery said as the pilot put down her tool and walked over.

They then went to another room and saw two people. Both IVs were in armor and in the middle of a sparing match. The red and silver armored one knocked the grey one [gold visor, CIC helmet and shoulders with soldier chest piece] off the platform. Once he hit the ground, the red one jumped off.

"Maybe you should stick to your books." The red one said as the grey one got up.

As he was getting up, the grey one threw out his leg, tripping the red one. As he fell, the grey one slammed into him. The added force instantly pushed him into the ground. When the red one was down, the grey one put his foot to the neck of the red one.

"First rule of combat, never underestimate your opponent," the grey one said.

"Alright, alright I give," the red one said as the grey one got off of his neck.

"Gunnery Sergeant Carter, I didn't expect you to be here," The grey one said as he removed his helmet.

"Nice moves Warren," Gabby said as the red one continued to stand there.

"So what's your specialty?" Johnson asked.

"Strategy and tactics Sergeant," Warren replied.

"Well I still need one of those, you're on my team."

"Understood sir."

"Anyone else or is that all Sergeant?" Gabby asked Johnson.

"Two more people," Johnson said as they started moving again.

They went into the last area, a simulation room. Johnson looked around and saw a pair of IVs facing at least two squads of IVs and Sangheili troops. The first was blue with grey highlights and a blue visor [Assassin armor], the second had red armor with grey highlights and a red visor [Warrior armor].

Johnson and the team watched as the two soldiers readied for a fight. A countdown started as the teams also readied themselves. Once the timer hit zero, the teams charged at the pair of IVs. The blue armored soldier jumped over the first SPARTAN and sent two quick jabs into his back before spinning and kicking another in the face. A Sangheili warrior charged at her and she put her hands behind her back before dodging each punch the Elite threw. Suddenly she ducked and the red armored IV jumped over her and kicked the Elite in the face, sending him backwards into a group behind him. The red armored Spartan grabbed the blue armored one's wrists and started spinning. After several spins, he released her and she went flying into another group. The red SPARTAN quickly went after her and they continued to fight the remaining soldiers. Barely five minutes after the fight started, it was over.

"Wow, those two are good," Warren said.

"True, but they rely to much on each other, not the team," Gabby said.

"Is that how they work best?" Johnson asked.

"Yeah, but-…"

"Then I'll take 'em."

"Ok," Gabby said before activating the coms. "Daniela and Daniel, report to team room A-5. Bring your armor." Gabby turned off the coms before turning around. "You should grab your armors also."

"So team room A-5?" Johnson asked.

"I know where it is," Darla said suddenly. "It's always empty since no one uses it."

"Not any more," Warren said as he turned and started walking towards A-5.

Me: Wow, didn't expect this to be so long.

Trin: Why did you make Johnson a SPARTAN IV?

Me: Because now he's even more of a badass, the story has more overkill, and I can.

Trin: Whatever bro.

Me: Go back to working on your story.

Avery: Wait, she has a story?

Me: Yes, SO FUCKING WORK ON IT TRIN! Oh and the 'Filler-story chapter' has to do with this: I believe that there are four different variants of chapters in fanfics, and by extension novels. The first is Storyline-while it has no action, storyline chapters have to be read in order to understand things, add depth to characters, and enhance plot. The second is Action-not really any storyline, though there can be a small amount, and is just about people getting shot at, gutted, beat the crap out of, etc. The third (final in my view)is Filler. Filler has three variants: story, action, and mix. All filler chapters are able to be ignored, but each has a certain amount of an item that gives it its sub category. Story is a filler variant that is story based filler with no action, action is an action based filler with no story at all, and mixed is an ignorable chapter that has a mixture of both. And the fourth(in Trin's opinion), and final, is Smut-these chapters are centered on a Lemon within it. They can have story and action, but the required part is the Lemon.
