A/N: Hey guys! There really isn't a reason as to why I haven't updated this story in forever…I just haven't felt like writing much I guess. However, I have decided to continue on with the story, I'm just not sure how long I will make it.

EPOV:

I can't believe that he was actually here. My son. Our son. Monroe. I can't believe that I was the one who delivered him. I had no idea I could handle something like that. I was brought out of my musings by a little whimper that I knew belonged to my son. I quickly got out of bed to get him before he woke a sleeping Bella. She was exhausted. I mean, she had the right to be; she had just given me the most perfect and pure gift I could fathom. As I approached the bassinet where our son was, I noticed he was now wide awake and taking in his surroundings.

I bent down and gently picked him up, "It's a lot different out here, isn't it little guy?" I whispered to him.

His response was more tiny grunts. I laughed and padded out of the bedroom and across the hall to his nursery. I brought Monroe over to his changing table and laid his little body onto the padded area. He looked so tiny on the area. Before he could protest any more, I unsnapped his sleeper and began to undo his dirty diaper. I kept him covered until I had a new diaper ready; I wasn't going to be one of those dads. Once I had Monroe all cleaned up and his sleeper fastened back, he was still fussing. I walked over to the rocker we had in his room, hoping I could just rock him to sleep.

"Come on buddy, go to sleep for daddy", I really didn't want to have to wake Bella up; she needed her rest. I cradled Monroe to where his tiny body was resting on my chest with his head on my shoulder and began to softly hum to him. After about five minutes his cries had yet to die down, I think he was probably hungry. I stood from the chair and headed back into our bedroom where Bella was sleeping peacefully.

I bent down and kissed Bella on her forehead, "Bella, love, I think Monroe his hungry." She groaned and turned onto her other side. Monroe was still crying in my arms, I'm surprised he hasn't woken her up already. Seeing as my attempt to wake Bella up failed, I walked around to my side of the bed and carefully climbed in with Monroe still in my arms.

"Bella, Monroe needs you." I laid him down onto the bed between Bella, and myself. His cries continuing to grow. This seemed to do the trick and Bella was up in no time. She started to look around wondering where the noise was coming from. She quickly realized the noise was our son and she swiftly picked him up and began to calm him.

"How long has he been like this?", She asked.

"Maybe 30 minutes, I got up and changed his diaper and tried to rock him back to sleep, but I think he's hungry. I was going to give him a bottle, but I know you wanted to breastfeed. Sorry I had to wake you."

"Really Edward, it's fine. My baby just wanted some time with mommy" She said this last part toward Monroe making me laugh.

"Could you get my Boppy Pillow from his nursery?" she said, while trying to soothe Monroe.

I looked at her like she had two heads. "You know, the pillow that looks like a donut." Realization dawned on my face and I went to retrieve it for her. Once I had what I now knew was called a Boppy Pillow, I walked back to our bedroom and helped Bella wrap it around her midsection. Once the pillow was in place, she laid Monroe on his side facing her breasts and began to lift her shirt to feed him.

Monroe didn't latch on immediately, so Bella began to rub her nipple along the skin beneath his nose and above his mouth. Monroe started to look for what was touching his face, opening his mouth just enough for Bella to slip her nipple into his mouth. He began to suckle, realizing his mother had food for him. As Monroe started to eat Bella and I both relaxed, glad that our little boy had stopped crying.

"How does it feel?" I asked curiously.

"Weird, but a good weird." She answered, looking down at Monroe lovingly.

I hummed in response and watched her with our son. It's amazing how she can provide for him in this way. I would never be able to do this for him. Only Bella. "What are you thinking about?" Bella asked softly.

"Just how amazing it is that you can supply him everything he needs."

Bella blushed and looked back down at Monroe who was hungrily gulping down all of his mother's milk.

"I still can't believe he's here." Bella said. "It's hard to think this gorgeous little boy was in my tummy only a few hours ago."

"I can't believe I was the one who got to help him into the world.", with that I leaned down and kissed the top of Monroe's head. He stopped eating and scrunched up his face, clearly not happy that I disrupted his breakfast. Bella and I both laughed at our baby and he hastily started nursing once more.

"What time is it?" Bella asked.

I reached for my phone that was resting on the bedside table and unlocked it seeing what time is was. "It's half past eight." I told her, while reading over some of the messages I had.

"Carlisle and Esme are wanting to come over to see their grandson, what time do you want them to come over?"

"How about eleven? That gives us time to get up and get going for the day." She answered just as Monroe decided he was full and released Bella's nipple with an audible pop.

I quickly replied to my mother, telling her what time they could come over. After I was sure the message had been sent, I set my phone back on the table and turned to see Bella pulling her shirt down and beginning to burp Monroe.

"Here, love, let me burp him for you."

She adjusted Monroe to where he could easily be transferred to my arms and easily brought him to my shoulder where I could burp him. I started to gently tap him on the back, encouraging him to burp.

"You might have to do it little harder, Edward." Bella said while putting her top back into place.

Surely I wouldn't have to hit his back any harder? He's just a little guy, far too fragile for anything harder than a little tap, but I listened to Bella and began to hit just a little harder. It wasn't too much longer until I heard a little burp and I felt something making it's way down my back.

Bella began to laugh, "What, what are you laughing at?"

Bella didn't say anything; she just pulled a small cloth from under Monroe's bassinet and began to clean whatever it was off of my back. "I guess I should have given you this at the beginning." She said, still giggling. She brought the cloth around for me to see it and it had white looking goop on it.

"What the heck is that stuff?" I asked shocked.

Bella continued to laugh, "Edward, it's okay, it's just spit up." She said between giggles.

Spit up? Why would my little guy spit up? I knew I was hitting him too hard! How could I hurt him like that?

"Bella, why are laughing? I made him spit up; I hurt him." I said, giving a now sleeping Monroe back to Bella.

She immediately stopped her laughing and gently stroked my arm. "Sweetie, you didn't do anything to hurt him. Why would you think that?"

"I was hitting him too hard, Bella, I knew it was too hard."

"Edward, you have to hit his back hard enough to make him burp. You didn't hurt him, babies spit up all the time. It has nothing to do with you burped him."

"You're sure?" I asked with trepidation in my voice.

"Of course. I would've told you if you were being too rough with him. I know you would never to anything to hurt Monroe on purpose." With that she handed him back to me, careful not to wake him.

Relief instantly flooded my chest. I brought Monroe to my chest and started to rock him. "You're right, sorry I was being stupid."

"You could never be stupid Edward, you are one of the smartest people I know. You're a new parent, just like me, we have a lot to learn but we'll learn together."

I smiled at my beautiful, amazing wife, "Why don't we try to get some sleep before my parents arrive?"

Bella nodded and pulled the blankets to where they are covering both of us. I gently lifted Monroe off of my chest and laid him down in the middle of Bella and I, on top of the covers.

"He truly is the most beautiful baby I've ever seen." Bella said while stroking his check.

"Of course he is, look who he has as his mommy." I said, leaning over to give Bella a searing kiss. She let out a content sigh and we both soon fell asleep, with our son wrapped securely in our arms.

BPOV:

I was soon woken up to the beginning sounds of my baby's cry, he was still nestled between Edward and myself. Before he could wake up his sleeping daddy, I scooped up my baby boy and began to nurse him. Once Monroe was latched on and drinking my milk, I looked over to see the alarm clock read 10:15, we only had 45 minutes until Carlisle and Esme would be here.

I gently nudged Edward, trying not to disturb Monroe, "Edward, you need to get up. You're parents will be here soon."

He groaned, but eventually sat up, wiping the sleep from his eyes. "I don't think I will ever get used to how great you two look together." He said, gazing lovingly into my eyes.

I smiled and switched Monroe to my other breast; he was a hungry little guy! Edward scooted over a rested his head on my shoulder, where we both watched our son eat his mid-morning snack. Monroe soon began to stop suckling, so I stuck my pinkie finger in between hi mouth and my breast to break the latch.

"Here, you burp him." I said, passing him over to a hesitant looking Edward.

He took him into his arms and grabbed a burp cloth, throwing it over his shoulder. He then placed Monroe with his head resting on his shoulder and his body curled onto his chest.

"Remember, hit his back just like last time." I said gently.

Edward began to pat Monroe's back similar to the last time and within a few minutes we were rewarded the cutest, tiniest little burp.

"See, I told you you weren't patting him too hard last time." I smiled.

Edward held Monroe out in front of him, holding him under his arms while supporting his head with the tips of his fingers. " I did do a pretty great job didn't I?" Edward responded with a triumphant grin. "Sure, sure", I said, "don't get too cocky."

Edward laughed and started to get out of bed. "Do you want to change or anything before my parents get here?"

I looked down at my ratty sweats and Edward's over-sized t-shirt. "Nah, who do I have to impress?" I just had a baby for crying out loud!

Edward laughed and handed Monroe to me, so he could slip a shirt on. "I'm going to carry his bassinet downstairs really quick, then I'll come back for you two." I watched as Edward easily picked up the bassinet and swiftly carried it out of our room.

With Monroe securely in my arms I slowly made my way out of bed, but as soon as I fully stood up, a wave of pain crashed onto me, causing me to quickly sit back down on the bed.

Just as I sat back down Edward walked back into the room. "Love, you need to wait for me before you try to walk, I know you have to be incredibly sore." He made his way over to my side of the bed and took Monroe out of my arms. With our son in one arm, he bent down to help me up with the other. I still felt quite a bit of pain, but it was nothing like the last time. Edward slowly led my out of the room and down the stairs. By the time I had sat down on the couch in the living room, I was reading to go back to sleep I was so tired.

As soon as Edward placed Monroe in my arms, there was a quiet nock at the door.

"Are you ready to show off our boy?" Edward asked in a joyous tone.

"More than ready." I responded happily.

Edward walked off to answer the door and I immediately heard Esme.

"Where is he? Where is my precious grandson?" an enthusiastic sounding Esme asked.

"They're in the living room, Mom." Edward laughed.

Carlisle and Esme soon emerged into the living and quietly walked over to where I was sitting with Monroe.

"Oh Bella, he is so gorgeous. He looks just like Edward did as a baby!" Esme gushed.

"That's what I thought; would you like to hold him?" I asked offering her my son.

"Of course I would!" Esme sat down on the couch next to me and expertly held Monroe, rocking him ever so gently.

"How are you feeling, Bella?" Carlisle asked, coming over to sit on my other side.

"I feel good, a little sore, but good."

"I was thinking you were going to say that. I grabbed you these from the hospital, it should help with some of the pain." He said, producing a bottle of little white pills.

"Will they be okay, since I'm breastfeeding?" I could feel the blush rise on my face from the question.

"Yes, they should be fine." Carlisle replied sweetly.

Edward sat down in the recliner closest to his father and they began talking about how the birth went.

"I'm surprised Renee and Charlie aren't over here as well." Esme said cooing down to a sleeping Monroe.

"Oh, no", I breathed, "Edward, we forgot to call my parents!" I said on the verge of tears. How could I forget to let my parents know that their first grandchild is here? I'm a horrible daughter!

"Don't worry, love, I called them earlier. They should be here any moment."

No sooner then Edward finished his sentence there was a knock at the door. Edward got up to answer the door and invite my parents to meet Monroe. Renee and Charlie walked into the living room and instantly searched the room for my little boy.

Once my mother had spotted Esme had him she quickly walked over to get a peek at her grandson. "Oh, Bella, he is so precious!" Renee said, gently stroking my baby boy's face.

"Here Renee, I've had my turn." Esme said, standing up so my mom could have her seat. Once my mom was seated, Esme handed Monroe—who was starting to wake up—to my expectant mother. "He looks so much like Edward, but he looks like you did too. He's the perfect combination of the two of you." I smiled at my mother, she was right.

Charlie walked over to me and gave me a hug. "My baby has her own baby," he said in disbelief. "Charlie come see him." Renee said eagerly.

"Wow Bells, you did good." Charlie stated looking down at Monroe.

"We did." I responded, looking over at Edward, smiling.

"Edward told us that you had a surprise home birth, is that right Bella?" My mom asked.

"Yeah, it was quite the surprise." I laughed, while Edward cringed.

"What happened?"

"Well, I just thought I was having Braxton hicks, but turn out they were the real deal. By the time my water broke I knew I couldn't make it to the hospital, so Edward delivered Monroe in our bedroom."

"I can't believe you did that" Renee said to Edward.

"Neither can I." Edward laughed.

Monroe then let out a little cry and I knew he was ready for another feeding.

"Here Mom, I think it's this little guy's lunch time." Renee handed Monroe back to me while Edward handed me a small blue blanket.

Renee moved to the love seat with Esme and they began talking about how adorable their grandson was, while Charlie and Carlisle talked about some baseball game.

"Here, love, let me help you get covered up." Edward said, sitting down next to me.

Edward held onto the blanket while I held Monroe latch onto my breast. Once I was sure he was content, Edward draped the blanket around me, making sure Monroe and I were covered.

"Well, I think your father and I are going to head home now. Let you guys rest." My mom said coming over to give Edward and I a hug.

"You take care of my grandson." Mom said jokingly.

"I think we're ready to head home too." Esme said coming over to say her goodbyes.

Edward got up to show everyone out while I finished feeding my hungry baby. I lifted the blanket off of myself since it was just my little family now. Edward walked back in just as I was switching Monroe to my other breast.

"He's a good little eater." Edward said, watching our son eat, fascinated.

"He took to it so well." I said.

Edward nodded and continued to watch me feed Monroe with his undivided attention. When Monroe was finished, he released my nipple and soon began to nod off to sleep.

"I think our son has the right idea." Edward said. I started at him confused.

"He's going to sleep, I think we should do the same."

I agreed whole-heartedly, I was exhausted.

Edward picked up the sleeping baby from my arms and set him down in the bassinet next to the couch. He came back over to where I was sitting and laid down, bringing me with him.

"Today was perfect." I said, reaching up so I could kiss his jaw.

"More than perfect." Edward responded, kissing my forehead before we both drifted to sleep.
