~Laura's POV~
Well, I think this might be the most awkward situation I've ever been in. I was lying on the floor with Ross on top of me, and Vanessa, Maia, Riker and Rocky staring at us in shock. Ross stood up and held his hand out to me; I gratefully accepted.
"You're probably wondering what just happened," I gave them a nervous laugh.
Vanessa nodded. "Kinda."
"Wait a minute, have you guys been in here the whole time?!" Ross asked.
"Don't try and change the subject, Lynch!" Vanessa said, narrowing her eyes at him.
"One minute you guys were yelling then we heard a bang, the next thing we know you guys are kissing. What the hell?!" Maia asked, shocked.
"Well," I began.
~Flashback~"Would you please just tell me what I've done, Laura? This argument could be over and done with!" Ross begged. I crossed my arms. "What are you going to do when you get a girlfriend? She's not going to tell you when you've done something wrong, you know!" "Well, I'll cross that bridge when I come to it." He replied. "Would you please tell me?" "Alright fine, you want to know what's wrong?!" "Yes!" I looked at him angrily. "I overheard you last night telling Riker about how you don't like me and it's all fake the way you're nice to me. Happy now?" "Are you freaking kidding me, Laura?! I was telling him about how worried I was that, that's what you thought!" He explained. Oops. I guess Vanessa was right. "I thought we cleared up the fact that I'm not the type of person I was when we first met? Why didn't you just ask instead of jumping to conclusions?" He asked. "I was angry, okay? I didn't want to see you, let alone speak to you. Then Vanessa told me that it'd be easier if I acted like nothing was wrong." "You didn't do a very good job." "Yes, thank you Ross." I glared at him. "I'm sorry, okay? But why would you been even worried about that? We're friends, I trust you. I think it's pretty clear..." I was cut off and the next thing I knew, my back was pushed up against the door and Ross' lips were on mine.
"Remember when we first met and I told you to do your thing and I'll do mine?" He asked and I nodded. Pfft, how could I forget? "And then I told you I didn't want to spend every minute with you? And I'd have sent you away at the door?"
"Where are you going with this, Ross?" I asked.
"I was really rude, and really, really wrong." He replied.
I raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"
"I mean, I love spending time with you. I do want to spend every minute with you and I would have never sent you away at the door."
"What are you saying, Ross?"
He stood up, "I'm saying that I really like you, Laura."
My eyes went wide with shock. What?!
~Vanessa's POV~
Riker and I headed into his hotel room. We'd Maia and Rocky in the restaurant downstairs so we could spend some time together. My bedroom was currently occupied by Laura and Ross so we couldn't go in there, I just hoped Rocky would come back soon. I slapped Riker's arm.
"What was that for?!" He asked.
"That was for your slip up earlier," I mocked him, "'What about our da- dad, Rocky?"
He stared at me for a moment. "I don't talk like that."
"Oh, I disagree." I replied even though he doesn't sound anything like I did.
"Oh, you do?" He asked, crossing his arms. I smiled and nodded.
He came closer and I suddenly realised what he was planning.
I backed away from him and put my hand out in front of me, "Don't. You. Dare." He started tickling me, causing me to burst into laughter. "R-Riker! Stop!"
"Not until you say I don't talk like that." He replied. "And that I'm the hottest guy ever."
"W-why would I-lie?!" I gasped out.
He gave me a mock shocked face and carried on tickling me.
"Okay, okay." I laughed. "You don't talk like that. And you're the hottest guy ever."
He stopped tickling me. "That's right." He leaned forward and pressed his lips to mine. I immediately wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed back. We were so entangled in each other that we didn't hear the door open.
"Oh my goodness, is everyone kissing today?!" They exclaimed.
Riker and I slowly pulled away, and looked at who had caught us. Maia.
"Maia..." I began.
"Are you guys dating?" She asked and I nodded. "And you didn't tell me?"
"I'm so sorry, Maia. But we decided we didn't want the hassle of telling everyone only for them to freak out, so we decided to keep it a secret." I explained.
She smiled. "I get that."
"You can't tell anyone." Riker said.
"Your secret's safe with me." She said, pretending to zip her mouth closed and throw away the key. I laughed. "I guess I'm gonna go. And you," She pointed to me. "Can tell me everything later."
"Of course." I laughed.
"Don't do anything I wouldn't." She said, before walking away.
"We really need to be more careful." I told Riker.
He nodded in agreement. "Can we trust her?"
"Absolutely. She already knows most of my secrets and she hasn't told anyone."
"Secrets, huh?" He asked, suddenly intrigued.
I looked at him, amused. "None that you need to know." I booped his nose.
"I will tickle you again," He threatened.
To avoid that tragedy, I kissed him again hoping to distract him. It worked.
~Laura's POV~
"Ross..." I whispered.
"It's okay, you don't feel the same way."
"What? No, Ross. That's not it at all, ever since we kissed for the first time it's all I've been able to think about. I just wasn't expecting you to feel this way, that's all." I explained.
A look of relief washed over his face before a cocky grin took over. "I'm all you've been able to think about, huh?"
"I said, the kiss, Ross. Not you." I replied.
"Yeah but the kiss was with me." I stayed silent and he caressed my cheek. "It's okay, you're all I've been able to think about too."
"What do we do now?" I asked.
He shrugged. "I'm kinda hungry, are you? Should we eat?"
"Ross! I meant about us!" I told him.
"Oh." He nodded. "Well, I say we try us out for real? Real dates," He kissed my cheek. "Plus, I get to do this whenever I want without it being for publicity." He said, pressing his lips to mine in a quick kiss.
I couldn't stop the smile that overtook my features. "I think that would be okay."
He smiled too before wrapping me in a tight hug. Ah, how I love his hugs.
~Maia's POV~
After walking in on Riker and Vanessa, I headed back downstairs. I found Rocky sat on one of the chairs in the lobby reading a magazine.
"Hey," I smiled, sitting down.
"Hey. Where are Riker and Vanessa?" He asked.
"Oh, uh, they were both really tired and Vanessa felt a bit ill." I lied, hoping he'd buy it.
He nodded.
"I guess it's just the two of us," I told him.
"Mhmm." He replied, clearly not paying much attention.
I rolled my eyes. "Rocky?" I asked, trying to get his attention. He looked up. "Listen, there's something I have to tell you, lately I've been thinking that we..."
"Oh wow." He said.
"I know." I nodded. "But um, I feel like..."
He cut me off. "She's hot with a capital H-O-T."
"What?" I looked at him. His eyes were looking directly behind my head. I turned around and spotted who he was looking at. She was tall, tanned and blonde.
"Should I go talk to her?" I opened my mouth to answer but he answered his own question. "No, I've probably got no chance." A few seconds of silence passed before he threw down his magazine. "Oh screw it, I'm going over."
Are you freaking kidding me, Lynch?
He headed over to her and she gave him a bright smile. I watched them talk for a few minutes until he held out his arm. She grinned and practically wrapped herself around him, with a heavy sigh; I headed back to my room.
As I got back, I popped my head around the corner to make sure Laura and Ross had gone. They had and Vanessa wasn't even back yet. I flopped down on my bed and screamed into my pillow.
Would Rocky ever notice?!
