Twilight story 3 chapter 10
When the wolves got back to the reservation, they were surprisingly at ease and not wound up like they are when they see the Cullens. The small group of vampires were very civil and listened to whatever the wolves told them and easily agreed to the terms of the treaty. They could not bite humans in Forks, except Seth, because he was Alec's mate and Alec could control whether or not his bite was venomous. The vampires had some terms of their own that they wanted to be included in their form of the treaty.
The first was that if a human or wolf tried to go after Seth with the intention of harming him, they had a right to kill the human or wolf (the wolves immediately said that they would never hurt Seth for he was adopted by their inner wolves as a fellow pack mate or pup in some cases). The second was that if something happened to them, they wanted the wolves to take Seth and keep him safe. The final one was that if they (the vampires) weren't around and the Cullens or Seth's sister ganged up on him, they were to get him out of there and bring him to the reservation, where one of them would pick him up (this was the only time a vampire would step foot on the reservation). These terms the wolves agreed to with ease especially the last one. It only took thirty minutes for the meeting to end.
Sam said to the vampires that Seth would be staying with them for a few days to make sure that his injuries weren't aggravated when he ran off. The vampires all looked relieved. Apparently Seth had wormed his way deep into their dead hearts a long time ago. They cared for him deeply.
Once the pack returned to the reservation, Sam had went to speak to the elders about the meeting and the terms of the treaty. He walked to where they would normally have their council meetings and saw that everyone was there. He took a deep breath and walked towards them, sitting down on a log.
A few minutes of silence went by before Billy Black asked, "So how did the meeting go with the new vampires?"
Sam said, "It went surprisingly well. The vampires listened to what we had to say and let us set the base of the treaty. Once we were finished with our terms for it, they mentioned theirs, which was only three. One was that if a human were to try and go after Seth with the intention of harming him, they would be allowed to kill the human if they succeed in harming the boy. The second was that if anything happened to them and they couldn't protect Seth, they wanted us to take the boy back here to the reservation and protect him. The final term was that if they weren't around and the Cullens or his sister were to bother him or gang up on him, we were to take him back to the reservation until one of them comes and picks him up. This would be the only time that a vampire would step on to the reservation. They wanted to know if this was alright with the elders because they understand that we don't like vampires."
Many of the elders were shocked that the vampires would even consider making sure that they had permission from the elders to come onto their land. Other elders had a look of respect on their faces. Maybe these vampires would be easier to deal with than the Cullens. Then the decision happened.
It took several minutes but finally they came to an agreement and Billy spoke, "Tell the vampires that we agree to their terms and that they have permission to step onto our lands if only one of our wolves is with them. Also if a human badly harms Seth only then can they kill the human."
Sam sighed and said, "Thank you Elders. This will mean a lot to Seth and the vampires."
Billy nodded and was about to dismiss the meeting when Old Quil spoke up, "Does anyone remember the prophecy that was foretold by our ancestors?"
Everyone stared at him questioning eyes except Billy. What was he talking about?
Billy said, "I remember hearing it when I was the alpha, but I forgot quite a bit of it. What was it again?"
Old Quil said,
"With a blowing of a war horn
The lives of many shall be torn.
Death shall cover the land
And the land becomes Heaven's ban
A child shall appear
Who many will hold dear
The child of light shall stop the war
Right at its very core
This child shall unite two races
But only one they shall embrace
Only when the child is bonded to a pale one
Shall the curse finally come undone
With powers given to them by Mother Earth
The child shall bring the rebirth
Of a time of peace
Where the hatred and pain shall cease."
Everyone was silent when he finished speaking the prophecy. Many of them have forgotten the prophecy. It has been a long time since it was last spoken. Though why would Old Quil bring it up now?
It was Sam who broke the silence, "Why do I have the feeling that this prophecy and Seth are related in some way?"
Old Quil chuckled and said, "Because he is Sam. It took me a bit of time to realize this but it only makes sense. Seth is bonded to a pale one, a vampire through a soul mate bond. He has become part of the pack here because your inner wolf recognized him as your pup. Your pack mates care for him very much just as the vampires do. He has been accepted by the vampires and he has been accepted by us. He has only been here for a month and he already has so many people caring for him. He is no doubt the child of light the prophecy spoke of. He shall unite the werewolves and the vampires and lead them to a time of peace."
Everyone could only nod and agree with him. The evidence was as clear as day. This boy would be their salvation and finally lead them to peace. Maybe then the curse of phasing because of the appearance of vampires would then break for good.
Soon the meeting was over and Sam went home to Emily and Seth. When he entered, he saw that the entire pack was there, waiting for him to return. They all wanted to know how the meeting with the Elders went. He noticed that Seth was not present.
Emily came up to him and hugged him before saying, "I had Paul help me bring Seth to his room. The poor kid was fast asleep, no doubt tired from today's events."
Sam smiled and gently kissed her before turning to the pack, who were looking at him, searching for answers.
Sam said, "The Elders have agreed to the terms the vampires set. As long as one of us is with the vampire, they can cross onto our land to get or drop of Seth whenever they need or want to. They have agreed that if any human goes after Seth with the intention to kill him, they are allowed to kill that human. Also Seth is the only one who can be bitten by a vampire, but only his mate, because his mate can control whether or not his bite is venomous. Also if any of us see his sister and/or the Cullens pestering him while they are not there, we are to take him straight here to the reservation, no questions asked. Does everyone understand this and does anyone have any objections?"
Everyone understood and had no objections. They would do anything to make Seth happy. Plus they don't mind his vampire friends as much as they mind the Cullens. With that everyone got up and left, heading home. It was a long day and they needed to rest.
Sam sighed and sat on the couch. He had not told anyone of the prophecy yet because he was still taking it in himself. Emily noticed that something was up with him and sat down next to him.
She took his hand in hers and asked, "What is it love? What has gotten you so tense?"
Sam sighed and said, "It was something that Elder Old Quine told me. It was a prophecy about someone called the child of light who would united the wolves and vampires and bring them into a time of peace. The elders are saying that Seth is the child spoken in the prophecy. He is dating a vampire and will one day become one while at the same time being embraced by us because our inner wolves deemed him a pup of the pack, someone we need to protect. Tonight we had a meeting with the vampires about a treaty which went better than expected. There is no hatred between our wolves and these vampires. We are being united by one person, and that person is Seth."
Emily sighed and hugged him. She could understand why he hid this. It was yet another burden Seth would have to bare if he found out. He already has to deal with his sister hating him, the Cullens badgering him about his boyfriend and company, and he now has to deal with very protective wolves. That is too much stress for one kid to handle.
Little did either one realize that right around the corner of the room stood Seth, who heard every single word. He turned and walked silently back to his room. It was time for him to have a talk with the Cullens himself.
Holy cow! Thought that would never end. I feel so terrible for putting Seth through so much pain. Waaaaaah! He is too fricking cute. Anyway, read and review please.
