Amanda woke up in what seemed like an operation table, the only problem is that she was stuck on it, her legs and wrists where locked in place, and she couldn't turn into squid form.

That instantly triggered a panic attack on her, why couldn't she transform? Why she was on an operation table? Where the hell was she?

She took a deep breath to calm herself down, if she panicked it would only make matters worse. She decided to look around to see where she was, and well the place wasn't very pleasing.

The placed looked like an worn out hospital room, there were surgical tools on the table, a board full of texts in a language she could not understand, an inkbag connected to her arm and a huge machine partially covered by a curtain, there was a light glow coming from behind it, not only that, but she noticed she was on surgical clothes.

Now she was really confused, what happened? Why couldn't she remember anything? Why was she tied up?

The stream of questions flowing trough her mind was suddenly interrupted by a familiar voice.

"Oh, you are alive! Great!" She heard the voice say in a joyful tone.

However, after looking to where the voice had come from she couldn't help but let out a high pitched scream.

The figure initially looked like and inkling in a lab coat, however there were several things of with him.

One, his skin was heavily decayed and had multiple grey areas on it.

Two, his tentacles had multiple scars on them, and speaking of tentacles, they seemed highly deformed, it seemed like they could just melt and fall off

And three, he had yellowish eyes that kinda jumped out of their eye socks, but what truly caught her attention is the fact that one of them was heavily bloodshot, and it's pupil was tremendously dilated.

Amanda realized who this guy was.

"You… You are the guy that attacked us!" She said

"Ah, good to know the modified chloroform didn't kill your brain cells." He said as he was writing on a clipboard.

"Where am I? What did you do to me?!"

"Well, it's a long story but if you want to hear it. You are in my lab, that's the first question done, the second one however…"

"What. Did. You. Do. To. Me!" She said, clearly angry.

"Now now, lets not rush." He said in a mocking tone. "Let's start with the basics, I think you've been out for… hmm… 9 days? Yeah 9 days. And a whole lot of stuff happened on those last 9 days."

"WHAT. DID. YOU –mmph*" Haz covered her mouth.

"SHUT UP AND LISTEN!" He screamed.

"Cough* Well now, Amanda, do you know, what is considered the most fascinating thing about inklings?" he said in an enthusiastic tone.

"Ugh… No…" Amanda was going to ask how he knew her name, but after noticing he was giving her a dead cold stare, she decided to answer his question.

"Well that would be their compatibility. Have you ever noticed the huge amount of Halflings in Inkopolis? All those impressive sub-species, Cuttlelings, Vampire Inklings, Sluglings, Jellylings, Octolings… And you! A Squidling!"

Amanda got really confused with that last statement.

"Wait, Squidling?"

"I suspected you would be confused with that last one. You see, your definition of "Inkling" is the ones like yourself, however, inklings are all of the creatures that have ink as the main composition of their body. What that means is that your kind is actually a subspecies of what inklings REALLY are."

"Wait, why they don't teach this at school then?" Amanda said, doubtful of the stranger's words.

"The adults wanted to make children feel like they were the "Pure" species and that the Octolings were the evil mutation during the great turf war. Although Squidlings are indeed the closest to primal Inklings."

Amanda went in shock, was what this stranger saying true? Did Cap. Cuttlefish know about this? No, no it couldn't be right, this guy stuck her on an operation table for 9 days!? What did he do to her? Why was he telling her that? This man is a psychopath!

"Anyway, I believe you know about salmonids, don't you?" He asked, and soon was answered by a nod from the girl.

"Those slimy ugly things that attack the shores every now and them?"

The guy got extremely triggered by that answer, although he calmed down a bit after.

"Well, have you ever wondered what would be a breed between an Inkling and a Salmonid?" He said in a sinister tone.

Amanda took a moment to put 2 and 2 together, what was this man talking about, what did any of this had… to… do…

Wait.

"DID YOU FUCKING R-Mhmph*" She was cut off by Haz blocking her mouth.

"Oh please, I'm a scientist, not a monster. I only took what I needed to make the process artificially."

"WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN?!" She shouted, even angrier than before.

"Well, why don't you see for yourself?" he said heading to the big machine and pulling the curtain.

Terrified. Amanda was terrified.

Behind the curtain there were 2 green tubes, but inside of them was something much weirder.

One of the tubes contained what looked like a salmonid, but its proportions were much different, such creature had very long fins, pinkish scales, and what looked like very few strings of hair. Under the tube there was a screen that said:

[ Nova – 36% ]

However the other tube had something much different.

It looked like a baby version of a normal inkling, it had the pointy ears and mask like eye surroundings, however instead of tentacles it seemed to have yellowish hair, which remembered her of her own ink color, and a light brown skin tone, just… just like her…

Its tube also had a screen under it, it said:

[Hércules – 98%]

"So…" Said the guy, now looking at her, "Who's ready to be a mother?"

O – O – O – O
