Snowflake

Tentatively, she reopened her eyes, only to close them again due to the harsh bright lights. It took her a while to adjust back to the light but, slowly, she found that she was in the pixie hollow tree, surrounded by dozens of fairies, all eagerly looking at her.

"Hello?"

The words slipped out of her mouth, as if it was a ritual that she had performed years ago.

"Born of laughter, clothed in cheer, happiness has brought you here."

Recognizing the regal voice, she spun her head around to face the queen. Eyes widening at the situation, she looked down, only to find herself clothed in the arrival dress. At last her mind clicked; she was a new arrival once again.

Only confusion was written on her face as she saw the current ministers bow away from the now appearing queen. Wasn't she the current minister of winter? If so, why was she here?

"I trust you found your way alright?" Clarion questioned.

Still stunned at the situation, Snowflake nodded her head, not able to say anything.

They continued the ceremony; the wings, the first flight etc. Yet, even after all that time, she still couldn't figure out why she was sent back in time.

The toadstools appeared, fairies of different talents came up and placed down one part of their talents. Surely she was still a winter talent, right?

Walking towards the snowflake, she glanced up, only to see a younger version of Blizzard staring down at her. Even though he didn't hold the same hatred in his eyes, she could tell he held his place very highly as apprentice for Minister of Winter. Gently, she touched the snowflake, a bright light filling the place.

"Welcome to pixie hollow, Snowflake. Take your place next to the winter talents please."

The nostalgic feeling of excitement returned to her. She had no reclamation of her old memories, so she did not know what to expect next.

"Hey there"

Turning to the voice of the sound, she was met with grey eyes; Blizzard's eyes.

"Uh hi." Uncertainty laced her voice. She shouldn't be afraid of him, he hadn't done anything wrong, yet.

Their conversation stopped there. Albeit awkward, she couldn't help find herself drawn to his presence. It was strange, he was to be the future nightmare of all of her dreams, yet now, was she falling for him?

Redleaf

It was a while later when he opened his eyes. When he did open them though, he was met with a scene he did not think was possible; He was back at pixie hollow. To be more precise, it was somebody's arrival ceremony. Blinking in confusion, he took in his surroundings. Standing next to him was the current minister of autumn, so that made him his apprentice.

The fairy, now choosing her talent, was rather familiar but he couldn't tell who it was. A bright light filled the place and she was facing the toadstool with the snowflake on top.

"Welcome to pixie hollow, Snowflake. Take your place next to the winter talents please."

His eyes widened at the name. How could he forget such an important day? Watching her very closely, she flew over to what looked like a younger version of Blizzard. He greeted her and her expression was one that he found very weird.

Was she interested in him?

Jealousy sat like a stone in his stomach as they struck up a conversation, seeing Snowflake enjoying every moment of it. Another feeling returned, this time piercing his heart. It was agony. He couldn't make her as happy as Blizzard could, so even chasing after her was useless. Eyes darkening at the thought, he excused himself from his mentor when the fairies dispersed.

Snowflake

Why am I suddenly so happy to be around him? Isn't this wrong?

Dismissing the idea, she followed him through the winter and spring border, feeling a sudden chill as she stepped through.

"Are you cold?"

"Just a bit."

Removing his jacket, he draped it around her, his scent now wavering in the air. He was being such a gentleman, something in him Snowflake would have never thought he was able to be.

"Lord Milori! We have a new arrival!" Blizzard cried.

"A new arrival? If they are a winter fairy, why aren't they arriving at our side?"

"I don't know my lord."

"Just bring her over here Blizzard."

After all the introductions, Snowflake followed Lord Milori deeper into the forest, preparing her for her work here in the Winter Woods. Blizzard ran off, mumbling about apprentice duties. She couldn't help feel that she was being watched from behind, stalking her every move. Brushing the feeling off, she flew quickly to catch up with the lord.

Redleaf

Aren't I supposed to feel agony? Despair? Or even loss? Apparently not. Great, now I'm just following her.

Using a warm leaf coat to cover his wings, he slipped in between the trees, keeping an eye on Snowflake. Rage coursed through him as he watched Blizzard put his coat around her to warm her up. The sight that she was slowly falling for another sparrow man was unbearable for him. It was even worse when he realized that Blizzard was the guy that was probably going to crush her in the future.

Walking slowly out from his hiding place, he slowly got closer and closer to Snowflake, only to have her disappear into the forest with Lord Milori, away from sight.

Sighing with disappointment, he made his way back to the border, only to feel himself being chilled from behind.

"My, my what do we have here?"

Sorry for the 2 week disappearance of this story. I had some uhh, "issues". They should be settled, or in my case, forgotten, by now so I can continue updating this story. Expect new chapters by the end of this week due to the holiday break.
