Me: Hi! I'm back. Sooner than I thought though...but that's only good, right? Too bad for me that I probably won't be updating very soon, as the end of the year is coming, and I am going on a school survival trip in Germany. The good thing is that it's almost summer vacation, what means more writing and hopefully more updating! I will also start a poll in which you can vote which ship name you like best for Lisa/Shade. I don't think I will make more couples though, as this story isn't about romance. But you can suggest some couples, and I will see if I can make a small moment. I will absolutely make more Shisa/Lade moments, but I will try and see if I can make other couple-y moments, fan or cannon. I will not add anymore canon characters, except for references or camoes, if you suggest them.
Holy cheesepiece with chocolate sprinkles riding a donut chatting with the unicorns while rainbows are invading the earth as the chibi's try to take over heaven! That disclaimer! I do not own any of the OHSHC characters, only Lisa, Shade, other Oc's and this plot. Thank Extended Experience for being my Beta-reader and check out her stories! And now, enjoy!
~Lisa's Pov~
I was very surprised, and delighted, when Shade finally had showed up. Ihad waited so long for him. Maybe I was a little bit too excited, but… I loved him so much, every day without him felt lonely. Of course, I felt lonely without the others too, but Shade always had a special place in my heart.
I was excited to show him off to the Host Club. However, I introduced him to the others though, they seemed to be disappointed, sitting down in Tamaki's emo-corner. Then I realized what was going on.
"Wait…did you all... fall in love with me?"
Silence was my response. Great. Now what?
Finally, Haruhi and I were able to drag them out of that corner and they seemed to lighten up a bit. Now we were all sitting on the couches; Shade and I together on one and the rest on the one on the other side of us. Shade and I were still holding hands. I smiled at him, and he smiled back. Then I looked to the others and began to speak.
"Hehe, maybe I should tell you a little bit more about how we formed the Shadow Roses, how Shade and I got together and why Shade can't talk."
"I think we are the most interested about his inability to talk." Kyoya interrupted me. I rolled my eyes before answering.
"Sure, sure, but let me talk from the beginning, okay? After all, these three things are connected with each other."
They looked unsure and confused in the beginning, but nodded anyways. I smiled before beginning my story.
"Okay, it all started three months after the explosion and the death of my parents. I just had escaped from the awful foster house, and I just got some nasty experience with streets guys. I was alone; trying to survive on my own, which had failed. Terribly. I grew very hungry, and I hadn't had any shelter at night. That was the moment I met them…"
-Memory flashback-
I was sitting against the wall, hungry, wet from rain, and totally alone. I nibbled on a little piece of bread I had stolen from the bakery. Of course, that wasn't enough to still my terrible hunger.
Maybe I shouldn't have run from the foster house. Of course, it was horrible, but at least I got food there. And I wasn't completely alone…
Suddenly, I saw a hand offering me an apple. I looked up to see whose person the hand was, and I saw a group of children standing before me. Three of them looked around the age of eight or nine; around my age. One of them looked older, like he was 17 or 18. Even though they had weapons with them, they had allkind smiles on their faces. But I knew better. You cannot trust men, especially street men.
Do they want to rape me too? Well that won't happen this time! I'm sure I can't trust them. But the food seems so good…No! Bad Lisa! Don't get distracted by the food! I must focus!
So I pulled my glance off the apple and glared at them.
"What do you want? Don't think I will bend over just for an apple! You…won't get me!" I spouted at them with all my strength. The boys seemed surprised by my outburst and backed off a little bit. A boy with a yellow cap who offered me the apple started to speak.
"Oi! I'm sorry! We…just thought you could need some food. You seem very hungry…"
"Well, then you were wrong! I don't need your help."
Shivering of the cold and the hunger, I rose on my feet and proceeded to walk away. But the boy with the yellow cap didn't seem to give up. Neither did his friends. They stopped me by standing in my way. If I wasn't so weakened, I would have tried to fight them. But at the moment, I could only glare at them.
"Hey, I know that you don't want to be helped, but you need it!" the boy shouted at me. A white haired boy smirked at me.
"Hey, hey, hey, this place is a little bit too dangerous for people to be alone. Or girls; especially girls."
Angered at that last comment, I pushed him away from me. But it did not do very much. He didn't even fall on the ground! I looked away, but that was when a black haired boy caught my attention.
"Please, listen to us. I know that you mayhave had some bad experience with boys like us, but that is no reason to not even try to trust us. Try to think about it, if we were really out to rape you, wouldn't we have done that already? No offence, but you're not the strongest person here. And definitely not when you are so weakened by the cold and the hunger. Please, we want to help you. If you stay here now, you will definitely be caught by the police or street gangs."
He had a sweet and calm voice, and he almost made me blush. I didn't say anything, but stared at the ground. Then, the older boy with the brown coat kneeled beside me and handed me a sharp combat knife. I looked up at him, confused.
"If you want to be sure that we don't harm you, take this then. You can protect yourself with it."
For a moment, I hesitated. I wasn't still sure if I could trust them. But finally, the cold, hunger and their reasoning took over and I carefully took the combat knife. I held it close to my chest, not wanting to let it fall out of my hands.
I looked up, and the guy stood up and walked towards the other boys. The red haired boy smiled and offered me the apple again.
"Well, are you coming? We will bring you to a dry place, so we can all eat. Then you can decide if you want to stay with us or not."
After a few moments of deciding, I nodded and followed them to a small apartment. They kept their promise. They gave me food and a warm and dry place to sleep. I was silent in the beginning, but when the ice finally broke, we started to talk about our pasts. When I heard their pasts, I realized that they were the same as me. A group of abandoned children, who had found each other and formed a tight bound.
The day after that, I decided to stay with them. They welcomed me warmly, and let me feel home. I kept the combat knife, and learned how to fight with it. We stole, ran and fought, and one year later, we chose gang name and became a street gang.
I have never regretted the day I decided to trust them. I have been really lucky. I may have lost a family, but I got a new one in return. A new family to care for. Forever.
-End flashback-
"...And that is how I joined the guys, and formed a street gang." I stopped speaking, and looked at them. The club had listened carefully to my story.
"But how about you and Shade? You said it all had to do with it." Hikaru asked.
"Euuum, yes that is how I met him? Sorry, I can better go to the point where Shade lost his voice, and how we formed a couple. But I have to say: we already liked each other before that. We just didn't confess to each other. But anyways, I will tell you the story…"
-And another memory flashback!-
We had just sold some valuable things that we had stolen out of a few apartments, were now walking on the streets, heading for the, on our way, we came across the Blood Dragons, and we had to run to avoid any trouble with the normal people. Finally, we ran into an old building, and decided to have our fight here.
The fight was tough, but thanks to Shade's (as always) fail-proof strategies, we managed to get the upper hand. Finally, all of them were down. I switched back with Liller who had been in control in the fight. I wipe the sweat off my face and turn to the guys, with my back to most of the fallen Blood Dragon's. I wish I hadn't done that.
I suddenly felt a hand yanking me back. Before I realized not all of those guys were down, he planted a knife by my neck, ready to slit it. I lost my grip on my knife, my only weapon. I tried to get out of his grip, but with no success. I heard the evil asshole laugh.
"Hehe, you really thought we would go down so easily? Think again. Now I'm going to take out one of yours, as retribution for mine."
I was in trouble. Even if I would transform into Liller, I wouldn't have stood any chance without a weapon. I couldn't do anything and I hoped my death would be quick.
Suddenly, I felt someone crash into the guy. The Blood Dragon lost his grip on me, and I was greeted by the ground. I looked up to see Shade standing above the guy, and I realized that he was the one who saved me. Shade smiled at me before throwing a few punches at the guy's face. I didn't understand: Why would Shade throw his strategies away to save me? He knows that doing something like this is dangerous, so why is he doing this?
My answer came almost immediately.
"Don't you dare to do this again to Lisa! I won't accept you hurting her like that!"
He did this…for me? I felt my cheeks flushing red. My body was completely frozen to the spot, but it still felt warm inside.
Finally, Shade stopped punching the guy. He was sweating, and completely out of breath. But his anger was still there.
"Never do this again." Then he took out his handgun and shot the guy right in the head. Straightening out, Shade stepped back towards me.
"Are you okay?" I would never forget that sweet, warm voice of his. It was always calming and charming, and to me, it sounded like an angel singing.
"Yes, I'm okay. Thanks Shade." I smiled and stared into his eyes. Our faces came unnoticed closer and closer.
"I'm so glad to hear that." For some strange reason, I didn't feel any pain anymore. Everything seemed to fade away. I didn't care though. The only one I wanted to be with now, was the boy standing before me.
Boy, I never thought the next thing would happen.
Out of nowhere, a hand grabbed Shade by his throat and pulled him harshly away from me. I immediately broke out of my trance to see the leader of the group holding Shade up, choking him. I immediately searched for my knife. In no time, I found it up, I began my attack on the leader. I screamed, distracting him so I could throw my combat knife at him. It hit him in his eye. It was the first time I actually hurt someone badly, without being Liller.
Unfortunately, my throw was not strong enough, and he survived. Angered, he retrieved the knife. He may have lost his eye, but he still had Shade in his grip, though he no longer choked him. He grinned in a disturbing way. Scared and angered, I threw all swear words I knew at him. But he only laughed.
"You really have a bad mouth; I think I need to clean it; however, since he's already here… I think I'll start with your little 'savior' first."
I will never forget what happened next.
He pushed Shade against the wall, still holding him in that iron-like grip of him. That stupid son of a bitch then punched him in the stomach, making him almost throw up. At that moment, he grabbed his tongue, and raised my knife. He then let it fall down, piercing Shade's tongue. And he did it again, and again, and again, and there seemed no end to it. Blood and flesh fell on the ground. I was frozen in my spot, not knowing what to do. Shade screamed and screamed.
Finally, I couldn't take it anymore, and I ran to the fallen Blood Dragons, searching for a weapon. It felt like hours when I found a gun, still loaded. I pointed the gun towards the leader.
But when I was about to shoot, my vision faded and I felt Liller taking over. She only said one thing: "I'm sorry."
When I gained control again, the leader was dead. I still don't know why Liller took over and killed him for me.
But that didn't matter, as I immediately rushed over to Shade. Blood was streaming out of him mouth and tears were flowing over his cheeks. The rest of the group came over to us.
"We're sorry that we couldn't do anything, but some other gang members were blocking the way." Chief told me before Senior lifted Shade up and we ran to the hospital. I wanted to scream at him, but I was too busy with Shade to notice.
I don't know what happened after that, but the next thing I remember, was that I was with Shade in a hospital room. The doctors had already told us that he would never speak again. And while the rest was making up a story how this happened, I had snuck away to see Shade. He was resting, but woke up when I came in. I remembered sitting on the edge of his bed, close to him.
"So…you really threw your plans away for this, didn't you?" he could only nod, but he smiled. I smiled as well.
"I see that being reckless isn't your style."
He laughed as well, but without any sound.
"It's ironic…from the first time we met; you have always been so careful and calm. You have always relied on your plans…but when you finally do the complete opposite, you end up losing your voice!" he only smiled, and I smiled back as well. I placed a hand on his forehead, which was burning hot.
"Your have a fever. It must come from the infection."
Unintentionally, I went closer and closer to him, and I felt it getting hotter as well.
"So, say it, did you really…do this for me?" I softly asked him.
He nodded, smiling softly. He tried to speak, but he couldn't only of course move his lips. But that didn't matter anymore. So without thinking, I came closer, until I found myself kissing him. He didn't resist, and I let everything go too. It was perfect.
Until the guys decided to randomly show up.
"Hahahahahahaha, I never thought I would see heartless Liz showing love! Ha, does anyone have a recorder? I need to get this on tape!"
"Cheeky you asshole! I'll kill you!"
-End flashback-
"…The next day I had a fever as well, but that didn't matter. And that is how we declared our love for each other and became boyfriend and girlfriend. I have to admit, it wasn't the most romantic situation, but it better that than declaring love at the last moments of your life, right guys?"
Everyone was silent. I didn't care, and instead snuggled up against Shade. He put an arm around me in return.
"So what are you two going to do now?" Haruhi spoke up. We looked at each other before answering.
"Well, there isn't any reason I should stay any longer here, so I had hoped I could go get the rest of the gang and go to New York."
Shade moved his lips and I read what he said before translating it.
"Shade says that he couldn't get in contact with Senior for some reason, but luckily he almost found out the locations of the rest of the gang. He at least knows that Chief is in Italy, and Cheeky must be somewhere in Russia. And he is sure that Sylvia is somewhere in West Europe."
Kyoya offered a deal. "I say you wait until summer vacation. You only have to stay here for a more few weeks, and you won't have to skip school. Shade can stay here by one of us."
My brothers agreed immediately. "Yeah! And you can take us with you too!"
"No way in hell am I going to do that!" I shouted.
"Why not? We only have to get Haru-chan and you a passport! And we can take one of our planes!"
I tried to tell them I could NOT take them with me, but they didn't give up. Finally, I declared defeat, on one condition…
"When we are going on the streets, it will get very dangerous. You have to do exactly what I say, and no comments about any of the gang or our life!"
With a little bit of hesitation, they agreed. Tamaki was nice to offer Shade to stay with in his home for the next few weeks. Maybe he isn't that bad as I thought in the beginning. Shade was given some 'proper' clothes, and he had permission to be in any class he wanted to and to stay in the club freely.
From then, the next few weeks went very smoothly. The guests weren't sure about him at first, but when I told them he was my boyfriend, they were mostly just relieved I hadn't chosen any of the club.
Finally, summer vacation came, and the first thing I felt when the school was outwas relief. I hurried home to pack the only things I would need: my usual clothes, some warmer clothes, food and drinks, a knife and the belongings I got on the day I learned about my adoption.
At the airport, I said my final goodbyes to my adoptive mother, my adoptive father, Saskia and Ageha. I felt sorry for Ageha because I couldn't protect her from storms anymore. But if I wanted to go back, both she and I must let go of each other.
"Do you really have to go big sis?" Ageha asked, giving me a sad hug. Ignoring everyone's glares as to why she got a hug and no one else, I hugged her back.
"Yes, I really have to go. But as long as you don't forget about me, I will always be with you."
I got a hug from my mom, and from my dad.
"Do you promise to visit us darling?"
"I'll do my best mom. Maybe I can get hold of an airplane one day and fly to you." I said jokingly.
"Take care, and be careful." Were my dad's parting words.
Saskia smiled as she bowed for me.
"Please take care young lady."
"Yeah, I will. Don't give up your dreams okay? Maybe we will meet each other again, hopefully in New York."
"Of course! I'll do my best so we can meet again, young lady." She said happily.
We all waved as the host club, Shade and I boarded the airplane.
"So where are we going first sis?" my brothers asked me. I smiled while holding up a map.
"Shade must first pinpoint the exact locations of our gang. Kyoya agreed to help, but we must first go to Shade's adoptive parents. So our first stop: China!"
Me: And we came to an new turn in the story! From this point, the group will travel over the world to get meet the rest of the Shadow Roses! I can't wait to write the next chapter! And we will first go to China! But will everything go well? What new adventures are waiting for them? And what will happen next? I will see you next time! Read and review! Bye~!
