So, I hope I haven't lost anybody yet. I'm sorry that this chapter took so long, life has been hectic in many ways, some good and some bad. Anyways, I don't own Xiaolin Showdown or Hellsing. I do own Selene, Sebastian and Fenris.
...
Chase groaned as he collapsed into his bed face first. Never had he been so exhausted in his life. He was starting to think that he may have made a mistake in making Jack his master. I thought he said that he wasn't as immature as he used to be, Chase thought sourly, when did he get so much energy? It wasn't long before he was lightly snoring into his pillow. He slept until he awoke to the aggravation of that bit sensation the next morning. He growled a bit, but stopped when it intensified as he stood up. He changed into a clean suit before making his way to his throne room as he stared at Jack in surprise.
"You're up early," he commented.
"I know, I got a hint about a Shen Gong Wu," Jack stated as he moved about, gathering his belongings. "Go get dressed."
"Jack, I already am," Chase growled.
Jack paused as he turned to look at him, "Oh great, then let's go."
When they arrived at the location, they were greeted by the Xiaolin monks, Wuya and Roy Bean, and surprisingly, Selene. Chase looked at her in surprise as Jack waved at her excitedly. She smiled at the both of them before looking at Wuya and Bean. Raimundo tried to flirt with her, but ended being shot down faster than even Wuya's quips. Chase snorted in amusement as the monks snickered at his blunder. They all eyed each other as they looked for the Wu. Knowing that she had a capability of being lucky, Chase stuck near Selene, and it didn't escape his notice that Wuya had thought of the same strategy.
"My, you are certainly lovely," she cooed toward Selene.
"Thank you," Selene said curtly.
"Now I can see why you two get along so well," Wuya stated as she eyed Chase.
"You're coming to conclusions," Chase growled.
"What's with the new threads, by the way?" Selene asked.
"Jack's idea," Chase replied.
"Since when did you take advice from Spicer?" Wuya commented.
"I decided to go for a change," Chase growl.
Chase growled as he stormed into his citadel. Jack was busy paying attention to one of his devices at the moment. Chase grew more sedate when his twins raced to greet him excitedly. They were almost the size of normal ligers as Artemis stood and wrapped her paws around his neck giving him kisses. Apollo rubbed his backside as he growled affectionately. He chuckled as he said his hellos to them.
"It's good to know that they can lighten your mood," Jack stated.
"I lost another Wu to Selene," Chase growled.
"You beat the crap out of Wuya, though," Jack countered.
"Oh yeah," Chase said thoughtfully with a smirk.
"Plus, Selene didn't win as easily as last time," Jack mentioned. "I videotaped the fight so we could study it."
"Oh yeah?" Chase implored.
"Yeah, take a look," Jack suggested excitedly. "Tell me if you notice something peculiar going on."
Chase looked at the screen and watched himself duel against Selene. "Well, it looks like I need to go back to training with the mirrors. Wait, did her arms just...?"
"So, I'm not going crazy," Jack inquired.
"No, you're not," Chase answered as he had the device replay the scene. "It seems that our little Selene has a few skeletons in the closet."
He didn't even argue with Jack when he was told to go train while Jack did some recon on Selene. He figured that he was either getting used to the pact or he was ready to contemplate what he just saw. Training was his way of reflecting on what was happening. His cubs have taken to watching him before they would play-fight with each other. It didn't bother him as it was their way of training alongside him. He was thinking about the shift he had seen on Selene's arms and it was when he went over the fight in his own head. The sensation was familiar to him, yet he couldn't place it and he didn't know why. He continued to go over it and compare it to other sensations, knowing he was missing the right one.
Chase was pulled from his thoughts when he sensed that Jack was in danger. Sure enough, Jack's girly scream echoed off the walls as Chase and his cubs raced to his rescue. There with Jack were Wuya and Bean, who were standing over him. Chase attacked Wuya, tossing her into a wall before getting between Bean and Jack. Apollo tugged on Jack's collar while Artemis stood over him protectively.
"What are you doing here?" Chase implored.
"We came to take back the citadel," Bean stated.
"This isn't your citadel!" Jack roared, standing up.
"We'll see about that," Wuya growled.
"You will get out before you are thrown out!" Jack exclaimed.
They laughed at him, not buying his threat. Chase couldn't explain it, but it aggravated him to see them blatantly disrespect Jack like that. Without any thought, he lunged at them once again throwing Wuya into a wall before pummeling Bean. Apollo and Artemis joined in as they started tearing at Wuya, drawing a lot of blood. Jack then told them to go for Bean, which they did greedily as they started ripping bits and pieces of him off of the main body. Chase roared at them without even shifting into his dragon form as they ran out of the citadel, looking back in fear.
...
Chase: What just happened?
Alucard: What should. Your master comes first.
MsN: Don't worry, the badgering will come along soon enough.
Alucard grins.
Jack: Badgering?
