"As I drove away, I saw both in the rearview mirror. 'Screw em. They deserve each other. I can be with out either of them. I don't need them to make me happy.' It wasn't til I got back to the dorm that I started to wonder, what were they talking about back there?"

Ok, I could have been nicer. Still, if she wants to walk away, she can just walk ho-

"Oh shit!" Freddie said, suddenly remembering they weren't' in Seattle.

He started up the truck and slammed into gear, speeding in the direction Carly had walked quickly towards.

"Argh! I hate it when girls get all over emotional! Where could she have gone?" Freddie said to no one in particular.

He turned onto the main street and floored it, looking at both sides of the roads. He hadn't driven very far when he saw her walking on the opposite side of the street away from where they had separated.

Freddie slammed on the brakes and put the truck in park just as fast as he had started it. Opening the door and running to Carly, he didn't care if he'd left it in the middle of the road, running.

"Carly! Wait! Please just talk to me for a second!"

Carly spun around and started walking furiously towards Freddie, who started backing up. Carly's eyes were not filled with the anger and hate Freddie had expected, but with tears.

"Why Freddie? So you can tell me how worthless I am? So you can tell me I'm never going to be loved? So you can flaunt your happiness in my face? I don't need you for that! I know it already!"

Freddie had back as far as he could go.

"What? No! Carly! I do love you! More than you could know! But I waited so long; I tried to force myself to give up on you! I came here, I started going out with girls, all to forget YOU! I still love you Carly, but my heart belongs to Kaitlin now!"

Carly had stopped advancing on Freddie by now. Her tears had become a steady flow.

"I know *SNIFFLE* Freddie. I just…."

Freddie moved quickly to hug the rejected girl.

They stood there, him hugging her, her crying into his shoulder.

It wasn't until a cop made Freddie move his truck that the two old friends separated.

" Come on Carls, we'll go get a smoothie. I know this cool little place right around the corner. It's right around the corner from Kaitlin's place and she's gonna meet us there."

"Okay" Carly got out between the sniffles.

Freddie was glad to get back into the truck and get moving. He wasn't so glad to see Carly break down further into tears.

"Carls, do you wanna talk about it?"

"No Freddie. I don't. It's just that everything is going wrong! Sam has a new boyfriend, some MMA fighter with a Mohawk, so between school and her classes, she's way to busy for me! She barely has time for ICarly!. Oh God ICarly."

The rest of what Carly said was hard for Freddie to hear through the tears, sniffling and her hoodie sleeves she had up to her face.

Freddie understood enough though. He'd kept watching ICarly to see it hadn't kept up the same quality it had in the past. The camera work was boring tripod stuff, Sam seemed to just want to get it over with, and there were fewer and fewer "Bits" on the show, with most of it's time being taken up by viewer videos that Freddie thought he'd seen on the internet before.

It was news to him that the tech producer was treating the show like a way to meet girls. It bothered him.

Why didn't I think of that?

Freddie felt a wave of relief when he pulled into the parking lot and saw his girlfriend's car. He parked next to it and got out, grabbing his camera as he did.

When he came around the back of his bronco, he wished he'd just stayed at home.

"What the hell Fredward?"

Kaitlyn had gotten Carly out of the truck and was letting holding the crying girl in her arms.

He stopped in his tracks, unsure of the best- or safest move.

"What did you say to her?"

"Katie! She-"

"Bullshit Freddie! Don't Katie me! I know what you said! Something assholeish! Cause that's what you are! An asshole! Go home Fredward. You're not welcome here!"

Freddie had grown tired of being called an asshole. He did the right thing most of the time. He wasn't an asshole.

"Screw you! I don't need your shit! Either one of you! You two wanna get together and be on the rag, go ahead, but I'm done! You take care of Carly since you care so much all the sudden. Earlier you would have been just fine if her plane had crashed on the way in, cause you can't handle the idea of competition for me! I'm tired of you women pushing me around! You're both as bad as my mom! I'm out of here!"

Freddie Climbed back in and sped away for the second time that night as the two girls watched.

Kaitlyn, letting loose of an increasingly calm Carly, spoke first.

"I've messed up."

Carly turned and looked at Kaitlin, face to face.

"No, We both messed up."
