''Dad?'' an unbelievable whisper is the only sound Emma knows to bring forth.

''You saved me,'' says Charming keeping his eyes fixed on his daughter.

A nervous giggle escapes the blonde. ''Yeah, did you ever doubt I would?''

''Hey, that's my line!'' cries Snow, with the biggest smile on her face. Tears are still rolling down unstoppably. She throws herself almost on top of her husband, as he sits himself up straight, while hugging him fiercely. She stretches out one arm to include Emma, who accepts the offer with a considerable amount of doubt.

The Prince turns his head to face his daughter. ''Thank you. Thank you so much. And I'm so sorry too Emma. I'm so sorry for putting you in this situation in the first place.''

''This family saves each other. It's in my job description as a Charming,'' laughs Emma while pulling back of her parents´ hug. In these kind of situations, when all the attention is on her, she hides back in her safe shell of funny jokes and sarcasm.

In the past she always tried to avoid being in the center of attention, because she always associated it with something negative. During her youth and childhood, being in the center of attention could only mean two things: or she was punished for something she did or she was being abused for no specific reason. That's just the way it was in the past. It had made her an expert in acting being invisible. She could hide well behind her humor and sarcasm.

Now, with the immediate threat of her father's death no longer a concern, she relapses into old habits.

Her parents notice it, but both decide not to say anything. How hard the truth is on them, the ups and downs their daughter has is something they've to learn to deal with. They knew that more or less already before arriving in Neverland, but having seen some of their little girl's memories, has made it even more clear to them. They understand her reactions to them better now.

Charming shares a romantic kiss with his wife and Emma looks the other way to give them some privacy. Surprised as she is then when her father places a gentle kiss on her temple and softly brushes her hair. No, it will take her some time to get used to this.

Instead she focuses on her surroundings. ''Wait, you guys, are we where I think we are?''

There's almost no doubt about it. The gigantic pine trees and cedars, the sense of the woods… They're either back in the forest of Storybrooke or…

''The Enchanted Forest,'' finishes Charming her thought.

''Oh no, not again!'' cries Emma. The memories she has of her mother and her in these woods are still embedded freshly in her memories.

It hurts the Prince thinking back about the period when he and Henry were desperately trying to get their family back. Now, they're separated once more. Separated of Henry this time. Like history is repeating all over again.

''I'm afraid we're back again,'' says Snow. ''I wonder why though…''

''Don't we all?'' adds Emma sarcastically.

Suddenly, Charming realizes something else. He recognizes this particular place they're standing right at this moment. ''Snow, we're close to our Castle, shall we…?'' he asks hopefully.

He's almost embarrassed to admit it, but he has also always felt a pang of jealousy pondering about the time his wife has had with their daughter, right here in the forest, while he missed all of that. Snow got to show their daughter the place where they were supposed to become a happy family. To be able to show his daughter the Castle himself, is just too tempting.

The brunette swallows back a sob. ''It's not how it was, Charming. Everything's destroyed.''

''I know, but I thought well… I just haven't been there for so long and…'' he shakes his head. What's he trying to do? He know Snow's right. They can never go back in time and do it all over again, because all is lost. He's completely devastated when trying to imagine the Castle in its current state. ''Well forgot about it. It's silly.''

Snow cups his cheek and presses a soft kiss on his lips. ''It's not silly. I know how you feel. But I don't want you to have high expectations for something that doesn't exist anymore.''

Out of the thick forest behind them, they all of a sudden hear a horse and carriage approaching.

''Quickly, behind here,'' hisses Emma as she beckons her parents from behind some bushes.

From where they're seated, they watch the carriage coming nearer. A carriage that looks all too familiar to Snow and Charming.

When the carriage passes by, Emma understands why her parents both look so shocked. Is she seeing double or was that just another version of her father passing by in that carriage?

A very fancy version of her father that is, in a beautiful costume, so much different from the modern everyday outfit he's wearing now. The man behind the window of the carriage had looked outside with a dreamy gaze, while a soft smile had graced his appearance.

''What the hell?'' whispers the blonde when the carriage and disciples have passed. ''David, that's you, but, how…?''

''We must've traveled back in time,'' answers Snow just as surprised as her daughter and husband.

''That's just great…'' says Emma in a cynical tone. ''But okay, if that's the case, exactly how far back did we go?''

''There's just one way to find that out,'' replies Charming enthusiastically while leaving their hiding place. Suddenly he feels a sparkle of hope enlightening inside him. When they've traveled back in time, that means that the Castle's still there, all intact. He can finally show his daughter where she comes from and where their home is. ''Are you coming or what?'' he asks his wife and daughter while lending Snow a hand.

Emma sighs deeply and groans disapprovingly while accepting the assistance of her father who helps her up. No, time travel wasn't on her favorite-things-to-do list, and also was not what she had expected to have to do in order to save her father and son.

Snow's still a bit hesitant. ''Are you sure we can do that? I mean, what if we get caught?''

''Well,'' states Charming matter of fact, ''if Emma's foster dad couldn't see her in her memory, with a bit of luck that's the same for us here.''

''I hope you're right,'' whispers Snow, still careful of not making too much noise. ''I just don't get what the purpose is of sending us back to our memories here?''

''Me neither, but let's find out,'' replies her husband. ''Emma are you coming?'' he asks looking over his shoulder to his daughter who's still standing at the exact same spot. She appears to be deep in thought.

Snow shares a worried look with Charming.

Their daughter finally catches up with them, but her eyes are more focused on the road below her than on the Castle that's now looming up from the distance.

And just like Charming anticipated, the three of them really are invisible to everyone, as they find that out the hard way. They really didn't hear the soldier coming from behind, that now literally walks right through them.

Some sort of tingly feeling is the only sensation Emma feels. ''Holy crap! What was that?'' she cries. Immediately she puts her hand in front of her mouth.

The Prince and Snow both brace themselves for people's reaction to Emma's shouting.

But nothing happens. The soldier who just walked right through them, continues his way up to the Castle without looking back over his shoulder.

''I think we just successfully passed our invisibility test,'' Emma laughs nervously.

Snow can't help but to laugh with that comment. ''I guess we did.''

The Castle looks exactly the way that Charming remembers. Set on a gigantic rock in the middle of the lake, connected to the mainland with a high stone bridge and set against a backdrop of snowcapped peaks.

It has always had some sort of spellbinding influence on the Prince, and this time it's not any different. He releases a breath he didn't realize he was holding, and grasps his wife's hand. He notices that she's just as nervous as him with the knowledge that they'll enter their old home soon.

And are you curious to what the Charmings will experience when entering the castle? I'm really excited to hear your ideas on that! Please let me know in a review. Next time you'll find out if your guesses were right. Thanks for reading! xoxo
