Chapter 11: Affiliation
In spite, he bared his jowls. Growling and clawing a path. A trial of disorder behind him.

"I need to borrow your notes for English. Got some business to take care of so I'll be skipping." The Rebel prince pulled some books out of his locker and switched out others.
"Ah, visiting the "Duke" or just paying your dues?" Axel chuckled watching the blond pack his things.
"Just the usual. Nothing lost, but something gained." He slammed his locker and spun the dial. I'll appreciate you more than the tool between your legs if you get me those notes."
"That lowers my self-esteem you know…"
"You should take pride in it." The prince grinned arching his brow in amusement.
Axel flinched as his leader suddenly grabbed for his nose and brought him down to his eye level. The look of irritancy amused the blond for he knew the eruption of sneezes that would ensue as soon as he left go. "Just add it to my tab." Roxas winked and pressed a quick kiss to his lips. "Your chicken scratch is hard to read. Work on that will you?"
"I can't promise cleanliness." He released and waved whilst redhead watched the prince make his hasty exit to god knows where. He was too far into his own imagination of what he would have the blond do for him until he was broken out of his stupor with violent sneezes.
Asshole.
Nose turning as red as his hair, the rebel turned heel and whistled an old tone heading for his next class, "Free period". Perks to being a senior, Axel pondered. He didn't have much to take since it was his final year, but it also made things pretty boring considering that are a grade below him, but not all of them.
His favorite sight for sour eyes waited for him by the school fountain. He wasn't hard to miss with his electric blue hair and mean demeanor. He was not surprised to find Saix engrossed in a new book for the day. The redhead couldn't fathom how he was able to pick up one book after another after such short time, but reading wasn't one of his own interests.
"Yo!" He greeted once he was in earshot. He was met with a curt grunt which was very displeasing now he required attention. He frowned, he was wasn't one to settle without being properly acknowledged, so he smirked and thought to have a little fun with his best friend. "Hey Sai~ Pay attention to me!"
Axel crept up beside him to look over his shoulder. Just for a quick glance, he could make out a few odd symbols or some cryptic incantations on a page. Today's interest must be demon summoning, but all the same boring text to the subordinate. The blue-haired teen physically leaned away, displeased by the obnoxious intrusion.
"Hey…" His voice grumbled deep in his throat. He nuzzled his nose into his neck, the smell of oak and herbs scented his skin. Then, a sneakish thought came to mind and he dared to press his tongue on the vein of Saix' neck. He exhaled slowly. Making sure his breath was hot as he trailed the pulsing vein up to the lobe of his ear. Oddly, he tasted like burnt sugar. He didn't flinch.
"You're disgustingly obnoxious."
"And that's why you love me." He chuckled and assumed his usual position leaning against Saix back.
Axel hasn't exactly known Saix all his life. It started in passing when he started middle school, quite literally. Saix was the typical loner kid, but his resting bitch face was intimidating enough to reply anyone. The fiery menace in his tween years hadn't cared so much for him then, but he couldn't ignore how noticeable he was with his blue hair. And how he always seemed to be glued to a book. His attitude of apathy, annoyance, and his interest eventually attracted him. Much to his current dealings, it started with light pestering until Saix begrudgingly relented to his presence. Axel would have occasionally took his things but left notes so that it wouldn't force interaction which he had seemed to dislike. Then as years passed, they spent time together, leisurely and personally. They shared some typical common interests, but neither has refused the idea of exploring each other's bodies as their curiosity and hormones ran rampant. Most of Axel's fondest memories were when Saix would bring him a box of stolen or borrowed toys. And they would share almost every experience with each other from then on.
The subordinate laughed fondly.
"You're thinking about something inappropriate, aren't you?"
The addressed turned to his friend. He had snapped his book shut and was regarding him quizzically.
"Mmm," He adjusted his position. "Just the times when I managed to stuff two dildos and a vibrator up your ass."
The blue-haired senior stared at him evenly. "Your mind is a crude place that I will never understand." He opened the book again. "Why aren't you with that degenerate?" Axel pursed his lips to that.
"You weren't, and still not, much different than him."
"I changed."
"Well…kinda got him there." Roxas wasn't one to easily change to begin with. His attitude and his manners with others were stagnant. His views very seldomly changed given the circumstances. Up until recently, that is.
"Even though I think it's a complete waste of time to participate in your silly affiliations and turf wars, I hear that he spends time with the brown-noser."
"Surprised that you're even thinking or considering the fact."
"I don't. Other's just have very loose lips."
None of this was news to him. He already questioned the prince about it and he had said the situation was ironically unavoidable. They were work partners for their math class, and he would find that Roxas took a little too much joy complaining or joking of Fair's lack of understanding of the subject. The blond was certainly content with his unlimited chances to disturb his opposing counterpart. That, the rebel subordinate was not particularly concerned of. However, what did was the subtle notions he would discover among the interactions between them. The arm touches that Roxas tried to hide, the close proximity that occurred too often, and how Lockhart seemed to pay way too much attention to him. Many times he had doubted, but he could feel that there as something more going in Roxas' thinking. Although, there was nothing to prove his assumptions. Maybe this was different because now they were required to be together. But Roxas works well in the shadows, so he will also be elusive in mind and plans.
But Sora is not.
"Gonna approach him?"
"Who?"
"Your silence is so loud it's obvious what you're thinking."
Like anything else, I am just another open book to him. "Wouldn't hurt. But good enough excuse to talk to him again."
"…Such a sad story."
"Don't have to remind me. It was a mistake from the start. That's why things are how they are now."
And I must stop it from repeating again.
Axel dug into his pocket and pulled out a soap ball tossing it into the fountain. He contemplated as he watched the grand décor turn into a bubble mound. He would hate to be the royal that has to clean that up later.
