Chapter 11 - It Bathes My Skin, I'm Stained By You
It was… new.
Kurt couldn't find a better word to describe what was going on between Blaine and himself; other words he might use were thrilling, whirling, unbelievable, or dreamy. It was, truth be told, really unexpected and somehow abrupt, but Kurt couldn't find the mood to care about that. Instead, he occupied himself by tracing long lines on Blaine's chest, when they were snuggling under the stars, or in losing himself gazing into his eyes when they were lying side by side. The close proximity wasn't a problem for them, they felt natural close to each other.
He still couldn't believe that it was happening; he couldn't fathom how it had happened in the first place. That first kiss had changed his world and all he wanted was more, more of this securing warmth against his lips, more of this utter feeling of home he felt when Blaine hugged him. It broke him to pretend nothing had altered between them while they were among other people, but it calmed him to know that, come midnight, the night was theirs and theirs alone. They had settled in a new normality; Kurt would sneak in Blaine's tent each night, they would sleep side by side, hands intertwined and legs tangled, and dawn Kurt would wake up and hurry back to his trailer, but not before kissing Blaine's forehead.
Right now they were lying on Blaine's cot, Kurt on top of Blaine, kissing and exploring each other. They had gradually become more physical, bypassing the flared cheeks and shy eyes for the sake of the feeling of bare skin against bare skin. Which, of course, couldn't falter their giggling.
"What's wrong again?!" a flustered Kurt asked Blaine, who was giggling himself silly. Once again. Seriously, it wasn't the first time that week – hell, it wasn't even the twentieth!
"Nothing, nothing, just… Please don't touch there" Blaine managed to whisper through his giggles, pointing to the olive skin covering his ribcage.
"Why, I wonder what would happen, should I… Touch again" Kurt said in a coy voice, smirking over Blaine's face.
"No, no no no, Kurt, please, no!" Blaine shouted, before erupting in the cutest laughter Kurt had heard in his life.
"Awww, you're ticklish! And you make a fuss about it, too!" Kurt exclaimed, unable to contain the massive, goofy smile that had taken over his face.
"Okay, okay, you've made your point, now – please, Kurt, stop – come on, I can't take it!" Blaine shouted, agitated.
"Hmmm… I don't know, what will I gain?" Kurt asked, smiling still.
"Anything, anything in the world!"
"Sounds inviting…" Kurt mused. "Okay, we have a deal", and he retreated his hands.
"Why, you sinister devil, you!" Blaine whispered through his teeth, tackling Kurt and claiming his state on top.
"Waaaaait, you said you'd do anything!"
"What do you want me to do?"
"Kiss me", Kurt whispered, smiling a delicious, crooked smile.
Blaine chuckled and dove in for a kiss.
The kisses were something extraordinary, too; not just in the way their lips danced gracefully against each other. In each kiss, Blaine found himself lost in time and space, his brain a dark void with just the presence of Kurt; Kurt's lips, Kurt's hands slithering on his waist, Kurt's nose bumping occasionally into his, Kurt's…
Wait, what?
"Umm, Kurt…"
"What is it?" Kurt breathed, his eyes still closed.
"Umm, I don't know how to put it… But are you sure you meant to touch me there… With… your there?"
"Oh, I'm sorry dear, I just thought… But if it makes you uncomfortable, then I'll just— " Kurt flustered, blushing furiously.
"No, no, it's not that, it's not that at all, it's just…Are you sure?" Blaine asked, the same blush in his cheeks.
"Uh, I… Yes, yes, I am. Are you?" Kurt asked, the blue in his eyes more prominent than ever.
Blaine just looked at his eyes. He could look in those eyes every day, no matter when, or where, or why…
He could look in these eyes forever.
"Yeah" he breathed, and kissed Kurt once more.
New grounds are usually terrifying, he knew that. But this was not new ground, not to Blaine, anyway. The friction, the movements, the slide of tongue against tongue, the feathery moans that Blaine felt surfacing deep in Kurt's throat, the soft gasps that erupted from his own lips, it wasn't new. It was already there, always there, waiting for Kurt to come to him;
No. Waiting for Kurt to come back to him.
That thought caught him unprepared, and he pulled his face back to take a good look at Kurt's, the features he'd only met a month ago, but which were so familiar at the same time.
Kurt looked at him with a baffled look in his eyes. "Everything alright?"
Blaine smiled at his boyfriend. "Everything is perfect", and hurried to continue their new pastime.
