Chapter 11: Destiny
"Riku, what's going on?" the silver-haired kept his gaze forward as they started to pick up a slight run in the freezing snow.
"The Tsar and his family were captured, but Princess Anastasia and the Dowager Empress are missing. The Tsar asked me to save them, so we have to find those two before something happens," he stated.
"I saw them I think, there were two women in the room I was in where Sora found me. They escaped through a trap door in the wall, but there's no telling where they could be by now." sky-blue eyes glanced around them, mind racing as they kept moving.
If the Dowager Empress and Princess Anastasia had escaped the palace, they would make way to the train station in an attempt to get away; however, that was only if they somehow managed to survive the mobs outside, which the three of them had avoided by taking the back ways and alleys. Grinding his teeth together, Sora started to think of a plan on finding the two women when a scream alerted him to a nearby frozen over river where he could make out shadows struggling upon the ice.
At seeing that, Sora turned direction, the thick snow and ice making his sudden movement somewhat tricky as he jumped over a fence and slid down the nearby hill, hitting the frozen water with a harsh smack as he tasted blood in his mouth from the impact making him bite his tongue before he started getting up, looking to see the sallow, and corpse-like features of Rasputin as the man shot him a glare.
The two women started backing away as Riku and Kairi joined behind Sora, the two going to guard the women as the dark monk looked him over with a crooked, yellow toothed grin as his form emitted a vile darkness that felt far to twisted, and corrupted for Sora to feel anything other than repulsion as he summoned Oblivion back to his grasp, his blue eyes remaining on the man as he looked him over in questioning. Riku and Kairi glanced towards the two women, the older woman meeting Riku's cyan gaze as he nodded and the two of them ran away as Rasputin smiled.
"You must be the Herald of the New Age that I've heard so much about," the man stated as he looked to Sora.
"What are you blabbering about?" a laugh left him.
"Seems you have retrieved your forgotten memories… at least, most of them. Do you perhaps not recall some of the finer details of the past? Or is it that even he couldn't repair the broken chains of past Keyblade Bearers mistakes?" Sora ground his teeth together.
"You're the one who instigated the curse, so, I know for a fact that you can reverse it. I suggest you do so before I have to become aggressive," he warned as another laugh left Rasputin.
"Are you threatening me? Little, Child of the Light? If so, I am afraid you must gain more of a bite before you become dangerous to the likes of me! The Great Rasputin!" a flare of bright green lightening shot towards Sora and he retaliated, shooting it back to the man who laughed as Riku and Kairi jumped into help him.
It was a strange fight, but no less terrifying as they blocked powerful blasts of bright green magic, being pushed back or thrown against the snow as Riku blocked the next set of magic that would have hit Sora who had been flung back to the ground and was taking a moment to catch his breath as he looked around them for a means to gain the upper hand before he glanced downwards, seeing his reflection in the sheen of ice below them and an idea formed. Slowly getting to his feet, Sora gripped his Keyblade tightly as Rasputin raised a hand upwards and a large blast of the dark magic was shot their way. Taking the initiative to do this one thing, Sora took in a deep breath and slammed the Keyblade into the ice the blast coming their way as he closed his eyes.
"Please work!"
"Invocation of eternal light! Come to the aid of those who bear your scars and weigh their sins against the scale of a feather!" Kairi turned to Sora.
"Sora! Don't -"
"HOLY LIGHT!" a wave of blindingly white light surrounded the three of them and Rasputin screamed in horror and pain as the pulse of cleansing golden-white waves washed over the area, destroying the dark magic and cracking the ice as the area beneath Rasputin's feet shattered, and the icy water began to swallow him. The sheer force of the spell had destroyed the ice below them, and the sudden rush of freezing water sent a horrible shock through the three Keyblade Bearers as Rasputin screamed revenge at them.
Kairi felt as though vices had been put upon her entire body as she closed her eyes against the sudden pain of the frigid water as everything became a wash of silence until arms wrenched her from the water, causing her to gasp as she was pulled up onto a snowy bank and looked to Riku who was in the water still, dragging Sora from it who was slumped forward in his grasp. The red haired girl quickly crawled to their side, fear coiling within her as Riku laid Sora back against the snow being quick to listen for him breathing before doing compressions on his chest again.
"Shit, he swallowed the water… come on… wake up!" the silver haired teenager swore under his breath as he pressed hard onto the chestnut-haired boy's sternum and he coughed, rolling over onto his side to bring up the fluid in his lungs for the second time in forty-eight hours.
"Sora! Your okay… thank God," Kairi said as the boy took in raspy breaths, his frame shaking against the snow as he looked hazily around him.
"You idiot, what kind of spell was that?" the boy tried to respond but found himself unable to say much as his body began to feel heavy and his vision started to swim black.
"Hey, Sora? Are you okay?!" Riku was quick to move, pulling the boy upright, and helping him to his feet as the boy glanced his way.
"T-Thanks…" the other shook his head.
"Don't mention it, you saved our asses back there. But, I think you might have over exerted yourself," he admitted as Sora gave him a faint smile.
"Y-Yea… where are we -" the boy stumbled a bit and Kairi came up to his other side, helping Riku prop him up.
"I don't think there's much more we can do. It looked like the Dowager Empress and the Princess were heading towards the train station, so finding them is probably going to be impossible at this point," he informed Sora and Kairi of this as the red-haired girl nodded.
"Then I think we'll have to meet up with Donald and Goofy…" Riku glanced to his two friends.
"You guys ready to go home?" Kairi nodded and Sora gave a faint chuckle.
"Sure… time to… face the music.. eh?" Kairi smiled.
"I'm sure Himitsu will be happy to see you, she's been really worried," she told him as they started walking down the street.
"Yea? I missed everyone a lot…" Riku adjusted his grip around Sora's waist, noticing how he seemed so much smaller right then, and how badly his body trembled against the freezing cold temperatures they were in.
"We better hurry up to the outskirts, otherwise all of us will be sick… and I'm concerned with how weak Sora seems… what did that spell do to him exactly?" the silver-haired teenager thought as Kairi put her arm around Sora's front, noticing that the boy had started to slump forward a bit, a harsh cough coming from him as Riku turned his attention to him.
It didn't take much time for Riku to decide that it would be better for Sora to be carried than try to walk on his own with his current condition, and so, with a bit of help from Kairi, Riku managed to pull the chestnut-haired teenager onto his back, and drape his arms over his shoulders as he made sure he had a good hold of his legs before they started walking again, Sora apologizing to him in a soft, and exhausted tone in his ear as Riku shook his head, knowing that it couldn't be helped as they continued to trek their way from the city in its chaos, knowing nothing more could be done with the state the brief, yet surprisingly brutal back and forth fight with Rasputin had left Sora. Admittedly, the two knew that their friend had wanted to do more, but knew that trying to stop the fights breaking out, or even attempting a rescue mission with just the three of them against who knew how many people was suicide.
"I want you to find my daughter and mother, please understand. I have accepted the fate I may have, and will do all I can to protect my wife and children, but out there is my daughter and mother, in the midst of unknown chaos… so I beg of you, make sure they are safe, and then flee from the city. I cannot bear innocent blood upon my hands any longer… tell your King I am eternally grateful for his attempt at saving us all, but I know it was not meant to be, so please… do this request for this fallen King, please… Keyblade Bearer."
The memory of the final conversation Riku was able to have with Tsar Nicolas left a bitter taste in his mouth. The man knew the fate his family would meet, he knew the risks of the three of them trying to save all of them, and that it would be a fruitless endeavor in the end. He didn't want to admit it, but the truth was there none the less: the three of them couldn't win this fight. They were all tired, Sora was exhausted to the point that he knew right now the boy was on the brink of slumber from over exertion, and neither he nor Kairi knew how to use any magic, giving them a distinct disadvantage. In the end, the cards had been stacked against the three of them, and perhaps King Mickey had known that it would fail but thought they had to at least try and save them, even if it didn't work out in the end.
"It feels… like we failed, huh?" asked Kairi as she, Riku, and Sora finally breached the town and started towards the area just near where Donald and Goofy would be waiting for them.
"Yea, it does… maybe if we had more time we could of done more… but…" the red-haired girl glanced towards Sora, seeing that his eyes were closed, a faint pink hue to his cheeks indicating either his body attempting to warm him up as quickly as possible, or a fever settling in as she bit her lip.
"This is what Sora went through when this mess started… who knows how many times he faced a challenge like this that hurt him…" Riku winced at the words.
Even though Kairi didn't know the greater details about what had happened in Hollow Bastion, he remembered every bitter piece of it. How could he possibly not? The look of pain and confusion on Sora's face when he'd taken the Keyblade from him, how his eyes had gained this strange look to them that made those endless blue irises appear ancient, and world weary as he watched his best friend, and his two traveling companions abandon him. Some part of Riku had felt grief for causing that to happen to someone he cared for, but his mind was far to muddled at that point for him to express it. When it had come to their first fight against one another in the atrium of Hollow Bastion, and he had seen Sora walk in, bruised, and his clothing bearing randomized rips and scuffs from his fight through the water ways in order to get to where he was, it had impressed him, until he had seen something unusual.
Within his grasp, was not the busted wooden sword they had played with for so many days on their play island, but the crimped, black iron-like Keyblade of Halloween Town: Pumpkinhead. It had stunned him as Sora had locked those sharp eyes onto him and stood himself straight, his body trembling in the faintest manner against the pain it was in as he took in a deep breath and swung the Keyblade outwards, prepared to fight him. Riku had found himself wondering even in his hazed state, what that meant truly as no Keyblade should have stayed with him when the Kingdom Key had come to his grasp, and yet Pumpkinhead had done just that and come to Sora's aid despite all odds.
Their fights were odd, as when they first battled it out in the atrium, Sora had managed to hold him off with Donald and Goofy's help, but once they'd made their way into the main area, Riku had been given no choice but to watch in a detached state as the Seeker of Darkness revealed that Kairi was a Princess of Heart, and that Sora was a bit of a unique case, as he could shield, and restore the hearts of others, but to think he could be a suitable vessel for a heart of pure light such as Kairi's was somewhat of a marvel to the humanoid Heartless. Even now, Riku had to admit that it was something that confused him, but nonetheless, he supposed that it made sense that Sora would be able to protect Kairi's heart as he had a far more innocent outlook on the world. Or, at least, he used to; now the silver-haired teenager couldn't be sure what Sora viewed everything as.
"That fight with me in the main area… it was so strange to see him behave in such a serious manner. Sora has always been innocent and carefree… but that changed when I saw him then… he had this intense look in his eyes… and everything about his aura and personality changed right then… like he was someone else."
"RIKU! KAIRI!" the silver-haired teenager looked at Donald and Goofy as they approached, looking to Sora in his current state.
"Hey guys, are we in time?" Goofy nodded.
"Yep, the King just messaged us sayin' he'll be sending us somethin' to take us ter Master Yen Sid's tower soon. But um… is Sora okay?" Kairi reached outwards, brushing Sora's bangs from his eyes as the boy blinked slightly, opening his eyes as he glanced around tiredly.
"W-Where are we?" Donald looked to him.
"Near the outskirts of St. Petersburg. We're about to leave," he informed him as Sora winced as he shifted, feeling the discomfort of the cold against his drenched clothing and chilled skin.
"Riku… you can put me down, it's okay…" the silver-haired teenager carefully crouched down and let the boy climb off his back. Sora wobbled where he stood a bit before shaking himself out, rubbing his arms as he tried to warm up.
"Sora, you look sick, are you okay?" asked Goofy as Kairi looked to him and then to Sora.
"He used that Holy spell against a man named Rasputin because we were about to get hit by a really powerful spell." Donald turned to the chestnut-haired teenager.
"WHAT?! Sora! Last time you used that spell it nearly -" sky-blue eyes looked to him.
"Donald, we don't know what that spell was trying to do or why I had that kind of reaction to it. What matters is that it worked this time, and that's it," he stated as a flicker of light appeared not far from them as a spiraling portal of blue and white formed.
"Seems like its time to go." the six of them were quick to head towards the portal, more than grateful for being out of the frigid cold, and trying to prepare themselves for what would come once they arrived at Master Yen Sid's tower.
{Mysterious Tower: January 10th, 2013 - 4:40am}
King Mickey stood near his former Master's desk, concern etched upon his face as he had gotten news from an informant within , that the attack upon the Romanov family had been swift, and brutal, making it near impossible for Sora, Riku, and Kairi to handle the mass numbers alone. Quite honestly, the King found himself regretting even getting involved or asking the trio of young Keyblade Bearers to get involved in something that had been brewing within that world for quite some time when Sora had just woken up from a year long slumber. Huffing, the King of Disney shook his head, knowing he should have been wiser in his choices as Master Yen Sid looked to him.
"Mickey, please do not blame yourself. It was a valiant effort, but not meant to be," the wizard stated as the Master King sighed.
"I know that, but I still should have gone and assisted them. I am a Keyblade Master, and I fully understand the gravity of this situation… yet I put them in danger… and a great deal more." a clack of glass came to his attention as a black rabbit came into the room.
"Seems as though you're constantly blaming yourself for things that just were meant to be. Honestly brother, you should try and be more relaxed, imagine the dangers that could unfold if stress were to get to you?" stated Oswald as King Mickey smiled.
"You have a good point, but it doesn't change how I feel about it." Master Yen Sid glanced him over.
"I personally am anticipating their arrival. It has been some time since I have seen a new Bearer of the Keyblade, let alone three," he stated.
"Well, you do sound a bit excited. I'm kinda surprised, you think this would upset you." the Master Wizard merely shook his head.
"I indeed do find the circumstances and reasons behind the ressurection of the Keyblade troublesome, but I have known for quite some time that these days would come to pass," he explained to his two former students as King Mickey tensed.
"You believe… that we're in the midst of our last wait?" the former Keyblade Master nodded slowly.
"Soon, the set up and struggles all of us within the Coalition have prepared for will come to fruition. Nonetheless, I suspect keeping things silent until further notice is wise. One may never know what could happen once the first piece is moved on this new chess board," he said in a sagely tone as a faint crash came from not far down the corridor, alerting the three of what was happening.
"It would appear they've arrived. I'll escort them." with that Oswald left and King Mickey looked to Master Yen Sid.
"Hopefully they don't beat themselves up over this," he told him as the aged Wizard shook his head.
"No, I don't believe they will. It is something that must become an acceptance of a Keyblade Bearers life."
As soon as Master Yen Sid finished speaking, the door opened, and in stepped three teenagers alongside Oswald, Donald, and Goofy. Their attention going directly to the man who sat in a large tall-backed chair, his long, dark-gray beard falling down to the point that it was obscured somewhat by the desk. His eyes were a deep brown, his features stern, and attire suggesting a Wizard to Sora instantly when he considered Merlin's appearance from a year ago. His dark, royal blue robes were tied with a brown leather sash, and atop his head was a traditional Wizard's hat with golden crescent moons, and stars. The man kept his hands seemingly folded within his robe sleeves as Sora, Riku, and Kairi stepped to stand before him side by side, the warmth of the room soaking into their chilled forms as King Mickey smiled and looked to the three youths.
"Everyone, I would like you to meet Master Yen Sid. He was my instructor during my Keyblade training, and also a close friend," King Mickey stated.
"Hello, Master Yen Sid." The trio weren't quite sure how to address this newest person.
"I have heard much about the three of you from Mickey," he said.
"Forgive us, but this is the first time we've heard of you, though I suspect circumstances are a major player in that part…" Donald and Goofy looked to Sora at his statement.
"Sora! Show some respect! You -" the Wizard quickly shook his head, waving his hands in a slightly urgent manner.
"No, there's no need. I would like to meet the three of you formally," he stated as he observed their tense forms.
Master Yen Sid eyed the trio closely as they kept their stance still, and faintly nervous, as he looked them over. Firstly, his attention came to the silver-haired cyan-eyed youth, whom he knew to be the boy that had been deceived by the Darkness a year prior. Despite having clearly regained his senses, he still sensed the tinges of Darkness within him, but instead of it being an unnatural coldness and sensation of the vile, corrupted Darkness of the Heartless, it bore resemblance to the kind that naturally resided within many living creatures. Following his slight observation of the silver-haired youth, his attention turned to the red-haired girl that radiated a pure, untainted warmth and light, marking her as a Princess of Heart, and a Keyblade Bearer as he felt the presence of the weapon's power within her energy.
Lastly, his eyes fell upon the chestnut-haired, sky-blue eyed boy whom had spoken to him. His expression was calm, and showed faint traces of stress and anxiety, but also slight nervousness was held within his eyes alongside with the mixture of self-awareness that told him the boy was on guard as he felt the Master Wizard's aura radiating a powerful presence, and took that as someone whom should be regarded as one to give respect, but to also be wary of. Master Yen Sid's gaze lingered upon him for a moment longer, before he took in a steady breath.
"I am Master Yen Sid, a Grand Wizard, and former Keyblade Master. It is good to meet the three of you. Now, please, may I have your names?" he inquired as they nodded.
"My name is Riku Hirigaya, its good to meet you Master Yen Sid." the Wizard nodded.
"You were the young man whom was seduced by the Darkness. I am glad to see that you have been able to thwart its influences… and that we now have you as an ally against it," he stated.
"I… um… thank you, Master Yen Sid." dark eyes turned to the next person.
"I'm Kairi Misaki, its a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Master Yen Sid," said the red-haired girl as he bowed his head slightly.
"As it is you, Princess of Heart. I also am looking forward to having you as a person whom we can trust in the battles to come." Kairi smiled, and nodded as the former Keyblade Master settled his gaze upon the last person.
"My name is Sora Seiren. It's nice to meet you, Master Yen Sid," Sora stated with a guarded tone, unsure of what to make of the situation.
"So, you are Sora. There is much I need to discuss with the three of you, but first, I wish to thank you, Sora for your efforts a year ago. That was quite a feat to take on at such a young age." the boy swallowed nervously, shaking his head.
"Sir, I only did the things I have so that I could have my friends, and family back. It didn't matter ultimately what I had to do so long as it saved them," he explained.
"And that is why the Silver Kingdom Key, one of the Seven Herald Keyblades chose you." sky-blue eyes widened, the other two giving the Wizard a confused look.
"Rasputin made a mention of me being the Herald or something. What does that mean?" King Mickey swallowed nervously.
"There's something that I think we need to tell the three of you," he admitted.
"Huh?" the King of Disney took in a steady breath.
"First of all, I wanted to apologize for the farce I put the three of you through just now. I should have not meddled with the circumstances in , and yet I did, and it may cause you to feel regret. I apologize," he informed them.
"No! Don't apologize for that. You were doing what you felt was right, there's nothing wrong in that." King Mickey's eyes turned to the trio, lingering upon the sharp blue ones that bore into his very being.
"I put you at risk. And you weren't recovered from your slumber, Sora… that could have been a devastating circumstance if something had happened. We could have lost one of our most important Keyblade Bearers." the trio glanced between one another.
"What do you mean? I'm not that special," Sora told him as the Master King shook his head.
"No, you are Sora, and I believe you have the right to know why." Riku frowned a bit.
"Your Majesty? Does this have anything to do with that whole Herald thing that Rasputin brought up?" he questioned.
"Actually… yes, and I owed you that explanation a year ago, when you were chosen by the Silver Kingdom Key. I failed that part of my job as a Keyblade Master, and as a King. I apologize, Sora." the brunette shook his head again.
"N-No! It's perfectly fine! None of us knew any of this was going to happen, so its not your fault at all!" he said.
"You really are something else… that forgiving and strong heart is probably why you were chosen." the boy gave him a concerned look.
"Your Majesty… what are you talking about?" he inquired as the Master King turned his attention to him.
"A long time ago, a smither was asked to create seven Keyblades of an exact same form, but varying in colors and attributes. This, came after an event known as the Keyblade War, where many tragic things happened, and ultimately these seven Keyblades were forged in order to make it more possible for another generation to be selected, and this generation, would be the ones who stood the greatest chance against a rising Darkness. These Keyblades would select seven wielders whom they feel best embody the element that they represent, and they would become the Heralds of the start of a new generation, and a great War," he explained as Sora felt a vice like grip form in his chest, causing him to flinch a degree, shivering as his body started to adapt to the warmth of the room and the faint pain in his chest ebbed in and out of prominence.
"And, Sora has one of these seven Keyblades?" King Mickey nodded.
"Yes, the Silver Kingdom Key. It chooses its bearer based upon their selflessness, their willingness to bear burdens for the sake of others. It relies upon the strength and will of the person's heart to protect others," he explained.
"So, the first Keyblade I received was meant to come to someone who embodied those traits?" Master Yen Sid looked to him.
"And so you do. You, Sora Seiren, are the Herald of the new age of Keyblade Bearers. When it selected you, it fulfilled a portion of its obligations in addition to the prophecy that lays upon it, and that it speaks of the one who wields the Silver Kingdom Key, and the Dark Master, Xehanort Erebus" he stated as Sora felt a chill spread slightly from his chest outwards with a faint twinge if the same ache he'd felt earlier.
"Wait, what do I have to do with this Xehanort Erebus guy exactly?" King Mickey looked down.
"Because the Silver Kingdom Key chose you, Sora… ultimately, it will be by your hands that the Darkness can be stemmed, and the ending of the Second Keyblade War can come about." Riku felt tension at the words.
"Does that mean what I think it does?" he asked.
"Sora Seiren, you are the key that connects the fates of many, and one day you will be the one to defeat Xehanort Erebus, the man who murdered Master Eraquis Zahir, and changed the fates of many lives. He is the leader of a ruthless Organization, whom I believe you've encountered before," Master Yen Sid stated as Sora narrowed his gaze.
"You're talking about Organization Thirteen… the Nobodies." Master Yen Sid nodded.
"Yes, he leads them, and his second, and third in command are some of the most brutal people you will encounter. Know this, Organization Thirteen has been preparing for the moment to begin this war, and the fragments of the past will eventually begin to overlap with the events of this current age. Keyblade Bearers will begin to appear more commonly, and thus a new war is upon us," he said in a cool tone.
"I see…" King Mickey gave the trio a mournful look.
"Listen… I know this is harsh, and complicated to take this all in so soon, especially for you Sora, having all this thrown in your face after sleeping for a year, but -" the chestnut-haired boy smiled.
"No, I understand. Organization Thirteen has had time to prepare themselves for a whole year, and they'll use that to their advantage, but it doesn't change the fact that as a Keyblade Bearer, I have a responsibility… and if that means I have to keep fighting… then I have to… there's no getting around it, if I have to be the one to kill Xehanort Erebus, then I can accept it," he told him with his smile still in place, eyes calm and shining with an understanding warmth despite the bleak topic.
King Mickey gave him a sad smile, not being able to help feeling guilt bite into him as he set in stone that Sora wouldn't be able to walk away from this, even if he wanted to. No matter what worlds he went to, or how far he tried to flee, he would always be a Keyblade Bearer, and there would be no escaping it. The mouse King glanced to Kairi, and Riku who were wearing similar expression to Donald, and Goofy as without a single word, an agreement was formed within them as Sora glanced towards the others, their gaze turning to him as well.
"I guess I won't be going home after all… I'm sorry, the two of you came all this way, and now -" Kairi marched forward, grabbing Sora's hand tightly in her own.
"No way in hell am I leaving without you! We've come all this way, and I am not going home unless you're with me!" Sora gave her a worried look.
"Kairi, come on. You've seen what's in store for this kind of thing, don't tell me you want to put yourself through that again," he argued as Riku rolled his eyes, putting an arm around Sora who was made to look to him.
"You officially need to get over that hero complex because we're in this together whether you like it or not." Sora gave him a startled expression.
"W-What?! No! I don't want you guys -" Kairi grabbed Sora's other hand as he gave her a confused look.
"Sora, we've been through all this so far, and we are not leaving you now. I'm a Keyblade Wielder as well, and I'm going to stay by your side until the end of this, I promise," she said.
"A'hyuck, of course, I am, too!" Sky-blue eyes looked to Goofy.
"But, you're…"
"I am, too. Like it or not, Sora, I am backing you up tenfold until this Xehanort guy drops dead," stated Riku.
"I…but…" the King looked to Sora, who looked at the five of them as they stood before him.
"We'll always be here with you, Sora," King Mickey said. Sky-blue eyes blinked momentarily, before a small smile lit up his features.
"Thanks, Kairi, Riku, Your Majesty, Donald, and Goofy…I really appreciate it…" Sora rubbed his sleeve across his eyes, and Kairi smiled as she came back to stand beside him as he looked up at the others. Riku sighed and came to stand on the other side of Sora, as King Mickey looked them over.
"Alright, I know this is a lot to mull over, and I know that the three of you have a lot ahead of you, but….are you ready to go home?" asked King Mickey.
"Yes!" the King nodded as he formed his Keyblade, and raised it high into the air.
"I will open the door of light, and you three will return to the Destiny Islands. I hope you're all happy there, and I want you to know, until we meet again, that…" the King felt his voice quiver as he looked into sky-blue, aquamarine, and cyan eyes.
"Oh….Your Majesty…." Donald murmured as he felt his eyes well up with tears.
"Donald, Goofy, this isn't goodbye," Sora stated as the two of them looked to Sora, before running to the chestnut-haired boy and hugged him tightly.
Kairi and Riku watched as they hugged the boy goodbye, and then flew to them to do the same. This was the last time that they'd see each other until who knew when, but it wouldn't indeed be a hard farewell to swallow. King Mickey felt tears fall as he opened the door of light, and vanished his Keyblade, before moving to Sora, who was given another hug before he did the same to Riku, and Kairi.
"I am proud to have the three of you at my side as Keyblade wielders. It is an honor to know such wonderful youths," King Mickey stated.
"Thank you, Your Majesty. I'm glad to have been able to meet you properly." Riku stepped forward.
"Goodbye, Riku," said the trio from the Disney Castle.
"Thank you, Donald, Goofy, and Your Majesty. You gave us back someone very precious. I can't thank you three enough for coming to me and Riku, and getting us out here to help Sora." Kairi smiled as she kissed the King's head, and then did the same to Donald and Goofy, who both laughed a blushed as she went to stand beside Riku.
"Goodbye, Kairi," they stated. Sora looked at the three of them as he walked towards the portal, and gave them a bright smile.
"I won't say anything, but see you three soon, okay?" he asked.
"Okay….see you soon….Sora." King Mickey smiled at the boy, as the three of them grabbed each other's hands, and walked through the portal to home. Master Yen Sid hummed a fraction as the portal closed up, eyes closing a bit.
"He looks quite a great deal like him, doesn't he? Mickey?" inquired Master Yen Sid as King Mickey smiled a bit with a gentle nod.
"Who do you mean?" King Mickey looked at Donald, and Goofy.
"Oh, just an old friend….someone I met a very long time ago."
