A/N: Woo here's chapter 11, just like I said. And oh my goodness I love all you guys, you know that? Yesterday I got 375 views on this story alone, and that's just amazing! So, read on lovely viewers!
And note I only own Lee and respective characters
"C'mon, dance. It'll be fine." Lee tapped her foot near the corner of the room. The kids had started to party, but Lee didn't party. She didn't hang. And she most certainly didn't dance.
"How about no? I actually want to look a little mature."
Raven grabbed her arm, pulling at it like Lee wouldn't move. Which she probably wouldn't. "Ah, pleeeeaase?"
She sighed. "Well, I also don't know how to dance."
Raven's mouth dropped open. She turned to Angel, yelling, "Get over here!"
Angel, who it seems now wanted any excuse to use her wings, flew over there. "What's up?"
Lee pinched the bridge of her nose, trying to find a way to explain. Yes, she knew how to slow dance. Her parents… they made her learn that when she seven. But she couldn't do any modern dances to save her life. Her feet just didn't step right to the music, and everything felt stiff when she tried to do anything that required her to move in rhythm. However, she didn't even get a single word out before Raven said with a hint of annoyance in her voice, "Lee doesn't know how to dance."
"Well," Angel smirked, grabbing Lee's wrist. "We're gonna have to teach her, right?"
Raven nodded once, and the girls each grabbed one of Lee's arms, pulling her out of the corner. The boys were completely oblivious to the whole thing, much to Lee's dismay. So much for help. "Uh guys…"
"Oh shut up, Lee, this is gonna be fun." Lee felt Raven hit her shoulder. A quick pain hit her there, but she stayed unfazed. "Okay, so first, stop looking like I'm asking you to murder someone."
"You realize I'd be more ok with that."
"Shut up." Another hit on her arm. "Okay, so just, listen to the music." She did, it was a quick-tempo, something Lee had never heard before. "Good, now, just move to it." Lee didn't move at all.
Angel sighed, "You know that you have to actually move to dance right?"
"Yes." Then she took a breath. Dancing, easy. Lee could do it if she really wanted to. Wouldn't look nice, but it'd work. "Okay, fine." She swayed her hips first, her skirt moving with her. Then, she began to move her arms with her hips, trying to focus on the rhythm of the song. No, she didn't want to focus, she wanted to let go, so the song was all there was.
"There you go! Just, hold on a second." Lee stopped to let Raven take her jacket off, revealing a sleeveless turtleneck that went seamlessly into her plaid skirt. Then she felt the clip come out of her hair, letting the curls flow free. "Okay, now c'mon!"
Erik and Charles walked down the hallways to meet up with Moira. Charles was going off on how the kids would surprise him, and that they would do so well on the mission in Russia. All in all, it make him feel sick. They were still only kids, kids that weren't trained or anything. He couldn't risk losing Shaw again because these kids didn't know what they were doing.
"Hi guys. Should be pick up Lee and everyone else?"
"That sounds perfect, Moira." Charles smiled at the agent. Erik walked behind them. Nathalee had better have told the others what exactly will happen, or else he would have one hell of a time on this trip.
"Well, c'mon they should be…" Moira's voice cut off and Erik saw just why. The courtyard was a mess, shattered glass strewn everywhere, a statue sliced in two. Loud music pounded from the common room where the kids were supposed to be.
And there they were. The boys were trying to hit Darwin, who had morphed his skin into stone. Hank was suspended from the chandelier, dancing to the music. Angel was flying around. And Raven and Nathalee were dancing on the couches.
Erik blinked at the sight of Miss Stathis. She was utterly out of character, her hair flowing free and careless, a huge smile on her face, and seeming to enjoy herself. In that moment, she didn't look like someone who was his equal, but just a child. The same as the rest of them.
Moira stepped forward, snapping, "What is going on?!"
Lee froze, seeing Moira, Charles, and Erik standing there, a look of disappointment on their faces. "Moira…"
Her friend glared at her. "Don't say anything, Nathalee. Now, who destroyed the statue?" Hank flipped off of the light, clearing his throat.
"It was Alex."
Raven held out her hand, then shook her head. "Havok. We have to call him Havok now." She then looked to Charles and Erik, pointing to each in turn. "And we were thinking you could be Professor X and you could be Magneto."
Erik looked at all of them, focusing on Lee specifically. "Exceptional." He kept her gaze for a moment before walking away.
Charles furrowed his brow at Raven. "I expected more from you."
Lastly, there was Moira, her arms crossed as she glared at Lee. "Don't even think about coming to Russia, Lee. You want to act like a child, fine, you can stay with them." Something in Lee fell to the floor, shattering into a thousand pieces. She wasn't going to Russia. All because she wanted to be with the kids they found. She looked back at all of them, seeing apologetic faces.
Darwin touched her shoulder, holding out her jacket. "Go fix it, Lee."
Without a second thought she leapt through the window opening and ran after the three adults. There they were, walking down the corridor. On their way to the car no doubt.
"Moira!"
She turned, a stoic expression crossing over her face. "I told you to stay behind."
"You aren't in charge of me. You need me and you know it."
"No Lee, we need your visions. Something Charles could get in a second." Her eyes widened and even Erik looked shocked at the display of nothing less that hate in Moira's voice.
"Moira, please, go wait in the car." Charles said softly. She walked off, and he looked to Lee. "I'm so sorry about her. I don't know what –"
"I do. She doesn't think that the kids are worth the time to actually talk to them. Hang out with them. You two are the same. So, I'm sorry that you two have no idea how those mutants actually feel, but I do. I wanted to befriend them, Charles. But I also need to go to Russia with you. You know that."
"Yes, Lee, I do." He handed her the sunglasses she left. She took them, and put them on. "You are needed. And I promise that I will make sure Moira sees that." He walked after the agent then, stuffing his hands in his pockets.
That left Lee and Erik. "And do you have anything to say?" She said, exasperated.
He just looked at her, his expression unreadable.
"Please, just say something, Erik. Can you just tell me I'm an idiot, or that Moira's right, maybe that I should stay here with the kids because you know that's exactly what I –" He stepped forward, pulling her into a one-armed hug.
"None of those things are true, Nathalee." She felt tears fall from her eyes, hitting his shirt.
"I'm sorry, Erik. I'm sorry about last night, about every shitty thing I've done, all Я не могу не поделиться с вами. Боль, воспоминания, что вредило бы сказать вам. Я так извиняюсь." She began to speak very rapidly in Russian, and she knew Erik couldn't understand. But at this point, she didn't care. She broke and said sorry first, and now she couldn't stop.
"It's alright. I, I want to apologize too." He laughed a little. "Both of us have done something things we aren't proud of, me specifically."
"And now look at us. Apologizing to each other and stuff." She hit his chest lightly, sliding out of his embrace. "Does this mean we're friends?"
"Oh, Miss Stathis. Who said we ever weren't?"
She smirked, wiping away the stray tears from her cheeks. "Heh, I did."
"Well," He took off her glasses, pushing them into her hand. With his thumb, he carefully wiped away the last tears, then did something that made Lee's cheeks become bright red. Holding her chin lightly, he brought her close, kissing her cheek, "I never said anything like that, Miss Stathis."
"Erik." She closed her eyes for a moment. "We should meet up with Charles and the others."
"Of course."
A/N: Woooo, we got ourselves some Lerik fluffy interaction stuff. Did you like it? And how do you think things will go down once they get to Russia? Tell me all this and more in a nice review, and I'll see ya guys tomorrow!
