This chapter is for my good friend Roza M Belicova... She seems to love these two so why not... Also thank you for being such a wonderful friend and reviewer... Go check out her stuff I'm her beta!
Christian's POV
I was convinced that questioning the Society while still working on their mission was still fine to be doing so. I had my doubts about this damn situation, but deep inside I still did not have the full will to care. I like Rose was content with the way things had been going. Not only that we were fucking great at what we did. There was something amazing about knowing that you are the best of the best.
Then there were times when my mind would be full of doubt. Questions swirled around in my mind, and I would get angry at not being able to answer them. Who had I been before all of this? I was told I had been a horrible person. That after my family had died I had gone all crazy and shit. But how could I believe that when I only barely remembered them dying.
That and lately Rose's comments about how much I looked like Tasha were really starting to get to me. The woman was a slut with a capital S, not only that but a pain in all of our asses. Hell she had been the reason Rose and Dimitri had been caught. Fuck if they wanted to screw around what was so wrong with that.
Those two from the very beginning had been on their toes around each other. You had to blind to not see the tension that built around them. Heck, even a blind person would notice that was how extreme it was. With a little encouragement I had convinced Dimitri to go for it. Rose had resisted for a while, but then gave in. They had been caught during training and merely received a slap on the wrist. Nothing that would completely tear them apart.
After the training though they drifted close again. They hesitated and again I urged them to go for it. I saw nothing wrong with them wanting to be together. This life was lonely and if they could find comfort in each other, then why the hell not. Everything seemed to be going well, until fucking Tasha had caught them kissing. I had talked her out of saying anything, but she grew jealous of Rose wanting what she could not get.
She had sworn to me that she would let it go. And after a month or so had passed by, I had believed her. She seemed to spend her time trying to hit on Adrian, who would flirt back and give her nothing else in return. This must had pissed her off because a few days later she had ratted on my two fearless leaders. Something I was never going to forgive her for. The torture that they went through was horrid, I tortured and killed people for a living. What had been done to them was much worse.
Because of that Tasha was something I hated. But like stated before she looked like she could be my mother. Had she been just a little bit older I would believe that. Those eyes, that hair, they mirrored mine. Even her facial feature screamed that we were related.
The only thing that marred her face now was a scar that reached from her forehead to her lips. Something she tried to cover up with her long hair. Every time Rose would look at it Tasha would cringe. She had learned not to mess with Rose directly after that all happened, even though it sucked for Tasha I was happy Rose had gotten her revenge. Tasha would forever wear that scar, reminding her to never fuck with Rose, the woman was pure evil.
It was things like that, that fueled my need to know more. There were so many secrets floating around. So many things that went without question. We worked like robots in everything we did. Something I was certain we were not. Each of us, even though we were trained to be the same, were very different. And lately something in all of us was making us into individuals.
"Knock knock handsome." My eyes shot up from the file I had been looking at blankly.
In my doorway stood the one person who had made me start to really wonder what the fuck had happened to us. Lissa was a god sent. She even with all her training was the sweetest, most caring person in this whole operation. I had met her a few times before, but in the last few month we had grown close.
It was forbidden for us to spend any time together, that did not involve a mission, but we could not help ourselves. I now knew how Dimitri and Rose felt about each other. I had just thought they were fucking, but now, no now I knew it was something more. The pull was undeniable.
"Come in and close the door." I stood up and before shutting the door I looked out in the hall to make sure no one had seen. I was met with brown eyes, Rose stood with her back against the wall. She was looking out for me, and clearly had spotted Lissa making her way to my room. I mouthed a thank you and she nodded her head walking away.
"You got another case already." Lissa's plush lips were set in a pout. She looked so tempting.
"Yea sadly baby girl." She walked towards me her fingers inching up my chest, fuck the things this woman did to me.
"How was your little vacation, did ya miss me?" Her jade green eyes widened as she looked me up and down willing me, daring me to say no.
"Missed you like the desert misses the rain." She laughed, and it chimed around me like church bell.
"You're so fucking corny, I love it." She pulled away from where I held her waist and walked over to my bed.
"So to what do I owe this pleasurable surprise to? I thought they had you on a mission." Her bottom lip stuck out and she again pouted, this time it was because she clearly had not gotten what she wanted.
"Victor said no. Something about how little ole me would hate Montana." She rolled her eyes and patted the spot next to her. "That mother fucker just did not want to give me the job, I was the one that was ready for it."
"That bastard." I reached for her hair and moved it aside exposing her shoulder to my waiting lips.
"Mmmm." She gripped a hand into my hair as I softly placed kisses on her shoulder until I landed on her neck. "Can you make me feel better?"
I pulled away and studied her features. Fuck she was perfect. Those eyes drew me in and I kissed her lips harshly. Two weeks had been a long time without her. No matter what I did now, I could not seem to stay away from her. She was like a source of oxygen for me. I kissed down her jaw and worked my way back to her neck where I knew she liked to be kissed.
"Do you ever wonder why this is so wrong?" I pulled away and studied her. "I mean why aren't we suppose to be doing this?"
"I don't know, but does it matter?" She pushed me off of her and sat up.
"Yes, of course it matters." She racked a hand through her hair. "You won't tell on me will ya?"
"Lissa, you should know by now that you can trust me." I took her small hands in mine squeezing them. I wanted to know what she was thinking, what was making her so upset.
"I just, God Christian, I just have been thinking a lot. I just don't get why everything is so blurry in my mind." She closed her eyes and inhaled deeply. "I just wonder who I use to be. Was my life better than this?" She opened her eyes and they bore into mine.
"Liss, I..." A knock on my door stopped me and we both stiffened. "Stay back I'll get it."
I stood up as Lissa got up to a part of the room where she would not be spotted. The last thing we needed right now was to be caught. I knew what Dimitri and Rose had gone through, and honestly I really did not want that happening to us.
"Fuck Christian open the damn door." Dimitri's voice rang through the hard wood door and I sighed. What the hell did he want. With a fury I threw the door open, letting him rush inside.
"Fuck Christian, I can't..." His eyes spotted Lissa in the corner and he grumbled something under his breath. "I suppose I'm interrupting something?"
Lissa cowered in the corner, not knowing that Dimitri was on our side. We talked and I some what trusted her, but I was not about to feed her information that could harm my friends.
"He's fine Liss, and actually yes you are." Dimitri turned around and there was an almost pleading look in his eyes, one I had not seen before. There was something going on, and Dimitri was panicking, something that never happened before. "Look.." I turned to Lissa a sad smile on my face. "Come back later? Please."
"Sure, I'll come when everyone is in bed." She started to walk out but I stopped her. I pulled her into a kiss and she gasped surprised I would do that in front of Dimitri.
"Ok." She rushed out a faint pink tint on her pale cheeks.
"What's going on? You look like you've seen a ghost?" Dimitri started pacing in front of me, he looked as if he was trying to control himself.
"I had some more flashes." He shook his head, as if it was hurting him to thinking about it. I walked closer to him, eager to know what he had seen. I had barely two flashes since I stopped the pills when we had gone on vacation, and they had been stupid.
"What did you see?" I was nearly jumping in my shoes. I had wanted to spend time with Lissa, but this, this was something I needed more at the moment.
"Rose and I kissed. And I was fine. That woman we caught got away and startled us. Victor was suspicious, but did not say anything." His words were rambled out, there was no focus in his eyes. "She came back to my room right, and we just talked. She started telling me about how scared she was if we did it again. And then it happened. I was no longer with her."
"Dimitri man, you just need to calm down." I put my hand on his shoulder, throughly worried about my leader. These flashes seemed to be messing with him.
"I saw her Christian, again, I saw Rose. I knew her before all this." He pulled on the ends of his hair. "This time I am certain. I had this memory with her. We had been in a fight or something, broken up for a while and I was shattered about it."
"Can you tell when this was?" His eyes met mine and he nodded no.
"No, just that we had not seen each other in like a month. You were there, and so was Adrian." My eyes grew large. He said we all seemed familiar to him, but this was it, what we had been looking for.
"So we all were together before all this?"
"Yes, and we were good friends. I just know it, I felt it." Dimitri sat at the edge of my bed and gave me a look, he was holding back something.
"What else?" He sighed and laid down on my bed.
"I don't know, I think, I think Lissa was there too." I nearly jumped on top of him as I landed on the bed.
"She was! Dimitri you have to know!" He pushed me away as I grabbed his shirt.
"I'm not 100% sure. I saw someone like her but never saw her face." My excitement dwindled. Lissa was not the only blond out there. And really what were the chances that we all had known each other at some point.
"Its fine, I mean this is good right?" I looked over at him, and he looked so damn tired. Dimitri never looked like this. This was how I knew that shit was going down.
"Rose tried to figure out what was going on, but I had no idea how to explain it to her. She's the only one out of us four that we have not told about the flashes." I hit his shoulder and stood up.
"You should just tell her. I mean fuck she can't deny it, she wants you. And I saw her on the plane, we all know she remembered something." I smirked at him as he sat up on the bed, promptly putting his hands to cover his face.
"You know how she is. She's fucking stubborn as hell. Shit Christian she had been begging me to bring her to bed before we got interrupted and then when we went to my room she was just yelling at me, and pissed and saying how much she did not want to be with me."
"I don't care, assassin or not Rose is still a woman." He peaked through his fingers at me, clearly intrigued in what I had to say.
"I'm just saying woman are fucking crazy. I like Lissa, a lot, but she still from time to time gets me" I went and sat down next to him. "Every once in a while she freaks out about being caught. The torture you and Rose went through has been spread around like wild fire. No one wants to endure that, let along for a second time."
"So you're saying she wants me, but doesn't want to get caught." His hands dropped down and I laughed.
"Exactly. Not only that she's not stupid, she knows we are up to something. And no offense but you have been acting weird lately." He scuffed at that and looked away.
"I'm fine. I've been doing everything I should be." I laid back on my elbows and thought for a second.
"You think Janine is related to Rose?" I saw his back stiffen then he relaxed.
"They look so different but so alike." HIs words were soft. "I don't think I have seen her before though, the only reason she seems familiar is because I've seen Rose."
"I know what you mean." I debated for a second and then brought up something I had yet to tell him. "Tasha and I look a lot alike."
"I've thought that since the day I saw her. There's no way you're not related. Feel bad for you though, that woman is insane."
"I know, but do you think she's in on all of this?" He sighed again and looked behind his shoulder towards me.
"I don't know it's hard to tell. She's well she's actually hard to read." I nodded, agreeing. Tasha had been very hard to get a read on. She was just such a shitty person, but I wanted to believe it was because that was what Victor had made her into. The weaker the person the more control he seemed to have.
"What about this mission?"
"Ah I have something in store for this. I'm getting some answers while we are there. And if this Eddie knows something what better way to find out." I looked at him confused and he laughed. "We will have a plane ride alone with him, we had Janine alone too but did not question her. We can get answers from the people he is sending us after."
"Fuck number one you're a fucking genius." He smiled a crocked smile at me and hit my shoulder causing me to fall back.
"I know, its why I'm number one." Cocky bastard. "Sorry for the interruption have fun when she comes back." He got to the door and I called out to him.
"Go to Rose's room. Talk to her." His eyes narrowed but he nodded as he walked out.
I smiled to myself as minutes later Lissa slipped back into the room. Apparently she could not wait until everyone went to bed and I could not either. I decided to keep everything to myself. I would let her know when I knew more. But until then I was going to enjoy whatever time I had with her. After all I never knew when something was going to explode in my face.
So there you have it... Now you know who the blond is... But how did Victor get her? Is Tasha being used or is she doing this all willingly? And does anyone recall the flash back Dimitri described to Christian?
Thank you all again for all the love and support you guys are the best... Muah!
