I do not own

Crane and Angel were walking out of the building, going to have lunch at a restaurant taking Crane's car. Angel didn't care where they went as long as they served coffee, she had another late night this time fighting a child ghost who had a thing for fire.

"So, if you don't mind me being personal what happened to the father?" Crane asked as they got into a little bit of traffic.

"He's around but his job and my job they go against one another, so he talks to the kids when he can and he takes a few jobs that he can where we are."

Crane raised an eyebrow "What does he do that you two can't work things out?"

"He works for the FBI." Crane looked at her shocked "FBI?"

She laughed "Yeah I know me and a FBI guy but I don't know" She shrugged "we worked well together."

"So what happened? Didn't like his female partner, he didn't want kids, didn't like the moving around?" He pried

"I loved the moving around and so did the kids, she didn't like me he didn't get she liked him. He loves kids he actually hand made the kids cribs. I hated giving them up, but I knew someone who needed it more than me. It's just I don't know." She said shrugging her shoulders not able to tell him about hunting.

She looked at him "You, I mean you are a little high maintenance but you could still find a girl or a …boy." She said as he parked the car

He gave her a look, she shrugged "I don't judge, as long as your happy." She got out as well, she looked at it. A little sandwich shop, Crane opened the door for her.

"I can assure you I am into females." He said as they walked up to the counter

Crane ate his sandwich staring at Angel, to everyone else she seemed open but he noticed how guarded she was. He was upset at the thought of her husband coming to see her.

Angel felt his eyes on her as she sipped her large coffee, she was glad they went to a place that served breakfast all day.

"So tell me your theory on why the patients all have the same collective fear of scarecrow."

"Who knows why the deranged do what they do, let alone their fears. The way I see it they had a fear with no name and one called it something and they gave their fear a name. To help them get control even a little bit." He said finishing his sandwich and wiping his hands with a napkin

She nodded finishing her food quickly, they headed back to arkham, at a red light Crane decided to ask about her family some more.

"Why December Elvira and Dante Ian for names, it seems random but with you things are deliberate."

"December is the month we met he remembered that. Elvira because Elvira mistress of the dark was an inspiration when I was a child. Neal loved the book Dante's Inferno and Ian was his brother's name before he died." She thought about the howl of a wolf and claws, and the smell of dirt.

He noticed a tone when she talked about the brother, and he had the name of the father. He parked in his parking spot and they went back to work.

At night

Crane found himself thinking more and more about her as he worked on his formula and test subjects. Later today she could hold off an aggressive patient until the guard's grabbed wasn't like Rachel an open book, you had to work your way to the answer he had to change several tactics to get her to talk more.

Morning

"I don't get why the FBI would be invested in this case." Gordon said looking at the two

"We believe it could be linked to a cult, so it's best to stop this now." He said as his partner was reading the file

Gordon groaned "That's all we need." He rubbed his temple "I can assign you-"

"No need, I would hate to take away any of your men hard at work." He said while watching a cop who was slowly falling asleep.

"Do you mind if we have a copy?" Naomi asked

"No, not at all." Gordon said going to make one and ask around

"They called didn't they?" She asked with venom

"My children, yes." He said taking out his phone and looking at his text messages

"Did she also call?"

Neal sighed "No...not yet, now stop giving me the third degree."

Gordon came back "Here you go and I wrote my number their as well if you need me."

"Thank you." Neal said taking it from Naomi and headed out.

"I don't see why you two still talk and hang out, you are separated." Naomi started as he drove

He sighed "By job yes, heart no we are married just... not I gave her a ring."

"Which she lost!" She pointed out with a smile

He sighed he wished he could tell her she used it to injure a werewolf, he made it out of pure silver and holy water. "The hotel was under attack,I'd rather she give it to a robber than her life for it."He stopped the car and looked at her "Now if you say one more bad thing about the mother of my children I will file another complaint and even your daddy can't get you out of it!"

She pouted in her seat, and he continued to drive.

" Also may I remind you my twins called so be civil or she will get on you."

"Throw that in my face why don't you." She huffed looking out the window

He cringed, but knows she uses that to get her way "I'm going to see my kids, you are welcome to stay" he ignored her glare "though you can check out some light level leads."

"Do you even know where she is staying?" She asked as he took a rode that took them out of the city

"With an old friend." His grip on the while tightened

She raised an eyebrow "I thought she had a sister who lived here."

"She does Rachel, a lawyer so when we see her be nice trust me her profession only made her more blunt; and her bite is worse than her bark."

Naomi huffed "I'll stay," He gave her a look "if her sister is their then she could help us." He went back to the rode

He parked the car in the garage and they went to the lobby, he smiled at the associate. "Hello I'm Neal Silver, can you please tell Bruce Wayne that his guests children are-"

"Daddy!" Two kids yelled jumping him him, behind them was Alfred who smiled at him.

Neal smiled at him "Hello I'm Neal Silver and your Alfred I recognize you form your picture.I hope the twin terrors weren't to much trouble."

They giggled at the nickname their father gave them "No, none at all, please follow me."

Alfred smiled at the kids fast talking and how their father was able to keep up, what he didn't like was his female partner who seemed to look at the children like diseases.
