Dear Mom and Dad,

Today was a great day. We get to spend a day in Texas. In fact, we're staying there for two days. The weather was great- only they're expecting a storm on the third day we leave, so we might have to leave the day early to beat the storm.

We left New Mexico and we're heading for Texas.

"What are we're going to do there?" I asked.

"We're going to be staying at a hotel for two days," said Mr. Spier.

"That's cool," I said.

"Then, we'll do Louisiana," said Mary Anne. "We figured it would make sense since it's together."

"That's true. I like that idea," I said.

"Me, too," said Marci.

"What part of Texas we're staying?" I asked.

"Dallas," said Mary Anne. "We're seeing a concert at the Cowboys Stadium tonight."

"Sweet," said Claudia.

"I know," said Mary Anne.

"It's too bad football doesn't start until the fall otherwise we would've gone to the game," said Stacey.

"True," said Mary Anne.

"The radio was just saying they're expecting a storm the day after tomorrow when we leave," said Claudia.

"Uh-oh," said Marci.

"That doesn't good sound. Should we leave tomorrow to be on the safe side?" asked Mary Anne.

"I think that be a best bet, but we should make sure that they're getting the weather because we don't want to leave and there's no storm," said her father.

"But the only problem is that I don't think you would want to leave during the storm. They might want us to stay that day until the storm is over," Mary Anne pointed out.

"Mary Anne's got a valid point," I agreed.

"I agree with her, too," said Claudia.

That afternoon, we landed in Dallas. We were checking in a suite.

"I heard there's a storm the day after tomorrow. Is that correct?" asked Mr. Spier.

"Yes," replied a clerk. "I suggest you would have to leave here tomorrow or extend your day for one more day because they're telling everyone to stay off the roads to be safe. It's going to be a hurricane."

"Okay. What do you think we should do, Patrick?" asked Mr. Spier.

"We can talk about that tonight," said Mr. Thomas. "We can let him know when we get back from the concert."

"No rush," said the clerk.

"Thank goodness the concert is tonight," said Mary Anne.

"I know," agreed Claudia.

That night, we got ready to go to the concert.

"This is going to be a fun night," said Stacey.

"I know. My dad and Mr. Spier decided to leave tomorrow so we won't get stuck during the storm. They figured that they agreed with Mary Anne that they shouldn't leave during that storm," said Kristy. "It was going to be a hurricane."

"We're going to Lousiana," said Mary Anne.

"Nice," said Kristy.

"I'm glad you and Dad made the right choice to be on the safe side," said Mary Anne. "I'd be afraid to get caught in the storm."

"I agree with you," said Mr. Thomas.

"Are you all ready to go to the concert?" asked Mr. Spier.

"Yes," I replied.

"We're going to get food inside the stadium before we go sit on the seats," said Mr. Spier.

"Sounds good to me," said Mary Anne.

Then, we all left to go the stadium. We got there early enough to get dinner. That was when we went to our assigned seats. Mary Anne and I get to sit together.

"I like this singer that's going to be performing tonight," I said. "That singer is Celine Dion."

"Sweet. I met her already when I did a music video for Titanic," said Mary Anne.

Right before the concert started, something amazing happen: we learned that Celine Dion selected Mary Anne to sing with her!

"Really?" asked Mary Anne.

"Yes, come on, you can go get ready in your own dressing room," said the manager.

"Wow," said Stacey.

Mary Anne left with the manager. And, came out with Celine Dion.

"She's so lucky," I said.

"I know," said Kristy.

"Kayla would've love this part," I said.

"She would've love everything," added Claudia.

"I agree," said Dawn.

After the concert, most of the fans wanted autographs from Mary Anne and Celine Dion. That was cool. That's what they did.

"That was so cool," said Mary Anne.

"I know. I bet you were surprised about that," I said.

"I was," said Mary Anne.

The next day, we got ready to leave Texas. The only trouble was the storm started after we checked out before we got on the highway, but we made it through without any problems.

"I hope Louisiana doesn't have the storm there," said Mary Anne.

"I know," said Kristy.

"At least we left in time though, but I thought the storm wasn't supposed to start until tomorrow," said Claudia.

"I guess the weather wanted to change its mind," I said.
