AN: This story is rated M for a reason. Trigger warnings to many things are present in this story.

I don't own Twilight.

I just like to play around in different worlds with them :)

Glass shattered and fell to the floor scattering in different directions. A loud growl shook the walls as anger exploded from the man in the center of the stone room. He grabbed a vase and threw it across the room and watched it shatter with pleasure.

"Isabella Swan!" He snarled, "That girl is really pissing me off! Who does she think she is?" He spun around angrily, looking for something else to break.

"Sire I think she just got lucky this time. Even I could have jumped over that brainless beast." The small grey leather skinned troll said with down cast eyes.

The man thought for a moment as the anger eased from his body. Finally he looked at the troll and nodded, "You're right Sabjorn. She got lucky. Gachnar was too easy for her. I underestimated that girl's wit. It won't happen again."

A knock on the door had him quickly shooing the small troll back into his hiding area. He turned to the door, "Enter!" He bellowed angrily.

Heidi pushed the doors open and bowed, "I have the books you requested Lord Caius."

He narrowed his eyes at her, "Did you mention this to anyone?"

She shook her head, "No Lord Caius."

"Good now leave me."

She backed out of the room quickly, closing the doors behind him. She couldn't stand that monster of a man and was none too thrilled when he requested anything from her. She blurred through the castle and knocked on King Marcus's door.

"Enter."

She bowed to him, "I took him the books my King."

Marcus looked over at his mate before he turned to her and said, "If he requests anything else from you please come to me first."

"Of course my King." She bowed again and closed the door behind her. She liked Marcus, Aro and Charlie. They were decent and caring, unlike Caius.

Marcus turned to Didyme once they were alone, "We have no proof he is behind this. How is Isabella doing?"

Didyme stared out at the ocean behind the castle as Marcus wrapped his arms around her from behind, "Aro says she is doing remarkably well. That demon scratched her and they are slightly concerned what that could mean but she's a trooper." She sighed.

It worried her being so far away from her niece while she was going through this. If Caius really wanted Bella dead he would stop at nothing, but she couldn't go to her without raising suspicion. She hated being so far from her brother Charlie, and more so her niece.

Marcus knew this of course. He hated to see Didyme worry like this and to be honest with himself, even he himself was very concerned with Isabella's safety. However he also knows Rosalie Hale and the Cullen's. Rosalie is territorial to say the least and Esme is the only woman that all the Vampire Kings fear upon all else. He has seen her anger and he never wants to be on the receiving end when her family is threatened.

"Bella said Jacob visited her a week ago but didn't say what he wanted, just that those mongrels had caught scent of something evil."

Marcus smiled, "And I'm sure our Isabella was honest and true, telling him everything."

Didyme smirked, "She sent them on a wild goose chase into a bear cave. My little niece knows how to handle those animals."

Marcus chuckled, "Like aunt like niece my love."

Didyme nodded, "I'm worried Marcus. She's been through so much already. She even mentioned Maria when I talked to her last."

Marcus growled angrily, "What about her?"

Didyme ran her fingers across Marcus's face, soothing his anger, "She's wondering if that was step one and when it didn't work…." She trailed off.

Marcus's eyes widened, "Of course! Why didn't I see it before?"

Didyme smiled, "To busy chasing your mate?"

Marcus kissed Didyme gently, "To the ends of the earth and back."

Didyme smiled at him, "Forever."

Marcus nodded, "We have work to do. Jane and Alec are not happy being away from home this long. Isabella is threatening to 'Throw them back across the pond' as she put it."

Didyme laughed, "It's been two weeks Marcus. Maybe you should call them back. He will wonder why they've been gone so long if they don't return."

He sighed, "I know we both feel better with them there, near her."

Didyme chuckled, "Alec nearly set Bella's new SUV on fire and Jane has been trying to come between Bella and Rosalie." Marcus leaned against Didyme's back, "She is pissing Rosalie off which upsets Bella which upsets me and you know how I get when I get upset."

A low growl began to vibrate Marcus's chest as he turned rapidly blackening eyes to his mate, "It seems I have forgotten love. Why don't you remind me."

Caius Volturi glared angrily at Marcus and Didyme from his tower as they blurred out of the castle and disappeared into the forest surrounding the village of Volterra. They were hiding something but he couldn't figure out what. They had sent Jane and Alec to Forks for a while and they hadn't called them back yet. It was all very odd.

"Sabjorn!" He shouted.

The little troll appeared quickly and bowed slightly, "Yes Sire."

"We have work to do. Isabella Swan must die before her seventeenth birthday and before the change is complete."

"But Sire, I thought she stopped aging?"

He growled at the creature, "At seventeen she will and the change will be complete. We have the year to kill her."

Caius turned to the table behind him that held all the books Heidi had brought to him. Somewhere in these pages lied the key to killing Isabella Swan, The Chosen One.
