Lavi took a step back when his father reached out to touch him. He glared at the man. He didn't like that he was here and looked at Bookman.
"Why is he here?" Lavi asked harshly. Bookman sighed as he looked away and then back at Lavi.
"He came to apologize to you and something else. I will let him tell you that part," Bookman replied.
Lavi frowned at that as he looked back at his father. His father sighed and ran a hand through his hair.
"I know that you're probably mad at me for walking out on you and your mother, but I needed to leave. I had made a bad deal with someone and left to keep them from going after you and your mother."
"I don't care! You left us when we needed you the most! You broke mother's heart!" Lavi yelled. He didn't miss the way that his father flinched at his words.
"I figured as much. But I'm going to make it up to you because your going to be moving in with me," his father said. Lavi stared at him for a minute or two before he even reacted.
"What!? Me move in with you? No! I don't want to live with someone that abandoned me when I was little!" His father stepped closer to him and placed a hand on his shoulder. Lavi instantly slapped it away.
"I know about you being Deak. Bookman told me everything." Lavi glared at Bookman.
"Why? I don't care that he's my father, but I want nothing to do with him!"
"I have already agreed with him that you should go live with him. But you will have to change schools and you won't have to go to school as 'Deak'" Bookman replied. Lavi looked between the two and backed up.
"No! I refuse! I'm not moving!" Lavi yelled before he ran out of the house. He ran as fast and quickly as possible to the house Kanda had shown him. He knew that they would never find him there. He got inside the house and ran to a bedroom. Not knowing it had been Kanda's old room he had run into. He shut the door and slid down against it, tears falling down his face. He didn't want to move. He didn't want to leave his friends. He didn't want to leave Kanda.
Kanda was pissed when Monday arrived for two reasons. One being Daisaya wouldn't stop teasing him about Lavi. And two, the red headed rabbit hadn't called or texted him all weekend. He knew he should have walked him home Friday night after dinner was over. He glared at everyone as he walked towards first period, ready to chew Lavi out. Before he could even get near the class, he felt a tug on his shirt. He turned to punch the person in the face but stopped once he saw it was an extremely worried Lenalee. He grunted at her and she took that as his why of saying what. She dragged him off to a quieter place so no one else would hear them.
"Kanda, I'm worried about Lavi. Bookman called Komui yesterday asking if we had seen Lavi. Lavi"s been missing since Friday night. Bookman said that there was a fight and then Lavi ran out. They can't find him anywhere," she told him. He could hear how worried she was and frowned.
"He'll be fine. I'll go find that idiot," Kanda replied turning and starting to walk away.
"Kanda!" He slowly turned and looked at her. He rolled his eyes and sighed.
"He'll be fine. He said as he turned away and walked off. He had one idea as to where the idiot would be that no one else would guess to look. His parent's house.
"Oi! Lavi. Where are are you at?"
Kanda called out once he was in the house. He heard a small noise and followed the sound until he reached his old room. He sighed and turned the doorknob and pushed the door open. He felt relief wash over him when he saw Lavi asleep on the bed. He slowly walked over to the bed and frowned when he noticed that the other was crying in his sleep. He sighed and figured he'd let the younger sleep and left the house to go get some food for the idiot, figuring that he hadn't eaten since Friday.
Lavi woke an hour later and slowly sat up, his stomach growling at him. He sighed and rested his head on his knees. He knew that he was hungry, but he didn't want to leave because he didn't want to be found. He stiffened when he heard the door open and footsteps approach him. He looked up to see who it was and was startled when a plate of hot food was shoved in his face by Kanda.
"Eat idiot." Lavi slowly took the plate and ate it. He glanced at Kanda and saw that he was angry. He could also tell Kanda had been worried.
"Sorry..." Lavi said quietly. Kanda sighed and looked at him.
"Why did you run away?"
"...Friday when I got home, in the kitchen with Jiji, was my father. He walked out on me and my mother when I was younger. Mom was already deathly sick and he broke her heart walking out. He claims he left to keep us safe, but I think he's back just to use the money I make from being 'Deak'. He...he wants me to move in with him and Bookman agreed with him. I don't get a say in it. I don't want to move. Because I would have to leave you and I don't want to," Lavi said, starting to cry a little.
Kanda moved over to the bed and sat beside and pulled him into a hug. Lavi blushed a little and wiped at his eyes. He was happy that Kanda was the one that found him, even if he would be the only one that could have found him.
"If you don't want to move, I can see if Tiedoll will let you stay with us," Kanda said blushing and looking away. Lavi shifted and looked at him shocked.
"Really?"
"...Yeah.." Lavi grinned and hugged Kanda and buried his face in the side of Kanda's neck.
"Thank you Yuu!" Kanda blushed and rolled his eyes.
"Whatever baka..."
Sorry about the last post. I didn't realize that it was part of the beginning of chapter nine since my other computer crashed and I lost all my files. I've also had bad writer's block again. Plus I've been extremely busy with my work.
But thank you to everyone that has stuck with me through my lack of updating. I love all you guys.
