Chapter Eleven- Just Drop it!
The weekend went by too fast. So fast, that when it was Monday morning I was contemplating throwing my iPhone out the window with its annoying alarm, and sleeping forever, because last night I (stupidly I might add) stayed up watching all the Final Destination movies with Yukino, Jet, and Milli. Groaning, I flip my small legs over the side of the bed and wiggle my toes, Yuki took us out for mani-pedi's as a thank you for "tutoring" her and Sting. She still owed me, though.
I make my bed, which is something rarely done and then look in my closet for something to wear. I might go for heels today, hopefully I don't fall on my ass or anything for Lucy and her little scumballs to laugh at. I picture the scenario in my mind, all the way down to my fall becoming viral on Youtube and stick with flats. I hop in the shower, and to make sure I don't stay in too long I sing 3 5SOS songs, also while imagining Luke or Michael as my amazing boyfriend.
To show off my pretty looking toe-nails I wore my plain brown leather sandals, paired with jeans and plain, sand colored, elbow length-sleeve, scoop neck shirt; soon it will probably be too cold for flip sandals. Humming absent mindedly, I slipped my blue mane into a nice casual, but cute ponytail with bangs and then trudge into the kitchen, heading straight for my baby-pink coffee maker that my mommy gave my for my special 18. It came with cotton-candy blue mugs with my name on them in the same shade of pink that the Keuring coffee maker was in. Grabbing one of the said mugs, I put in my favorite blend and let the machine do its thing, I grab the other Stephen King I was reading (since I finished the other one) and start reading, my eyes moving across the page. A knock on the door interrupts me and I place it face down, even though I know that can mess up the binding, but I think it was Jet and he rarely comes to my house, I usually go over to his.
I open the door and he strides in.
"Smells like coffee, can I have a cup? I'm beat from what we did last night." He says reaching down to peck my lips. That sounded wrong.
"Context, Jet." I say pointing out his sentence as he gives me a devilish smirk and sits at a barstool. I get another mug for him and when the steaming hot beverage is ready I pour it in both. I hand him his and we sip in silence, looking at eachother from over the rims of our cups, I'm holding mine with two hands and he only uses one since his are so big. I giggle as he makes his eyerbrows move all weird; it's moments like this I cherish with him. I immediately think back to last week.
"Just don't tell her." Is all I hear Jet say. Tell who? Tell me? I hide my confused expression and they finally see us approaching. Yukino gives Jet an exasperated look but the look is replaced with a smile when we walk up to them. "Hey Milli, heey Levy." He reaches down to embrace me and puts a quick peck on my forehead. Tell me what? I wanted to ask so damn badly.
Setting the blue cup down, I lick my top lip and debate on asking him about what he meant.
"Jet?" I ask in my sort of high-pitched voice. He sets his cup down to and nods for me to continue. I swallow my doubts. "You know last week when you were talking to Yukino?" he gives me a small look of confusion.
"Clarify, I talk to Yuki all the time, Lev." He says like its obvious. I sigh. I can't look into his pretty eyes, it'll make me stutter and stuff.
"No, I mean when you said 'don't tell her'." I rush out, drinking more of my coffee again. I think I saw his eyes widen. Her was definetely me. I wasn't supposed to overhear him say that.
"It was nothing really." He says slowly, avoiding eye contact.
"So, is her me? Or your mom? Or Milli?" I question further. He looks behind me at the Keurig machine. He looks at the fridge. He looks down at his coffee. Jet doesn't look at me.
"It was nothing Levy. We were just talking and I don't even remember what it was about." I was getting kind of mad. He was hiding something. I hate when he hides stuff from me.
"I hate when you don't tell me stuff Jet, it really pisses me off." He groans at my behavior. "I'm not a child I can handle stuff."
"It's not a big deal, really."
"If it's not a big deal then just tell me!" My voiced was raised unintentionally.
"Just drop it, Levy." He huffs annoyed. I grab my book and read it while I drink my coffee, ignoring him completely. If he was going to be stubborn about it and not tell me I know Yuki would. I finish my cup and place it in the sink, and then go to brush my teeth. When I return to the kitchen, Jet is also done and did the same. I'm still quiet, even as we begin walking to school. He does the thing I love, which is hug me from behind, and he tried to reach down for a kiss but I broke away.
"Oh come on, you aren't upset are you?" he asks, sounding like a whiny little bitch.
"No." Is all I say. I was actually kind of mad. He sighs and I just look at anywhere but him, even if he does look really hot in his Ramones hoodie and jeans, his short-ish orange hair perfectly messy, which is how I like it (His dad forced him to get rid of the ponytail over the summer before high school, and since then he kept it cut). I put my earphones in my ear just so he knows I'm ignoring him, if he didn't get the hint.
When we get to school, I go straight to where I usually go: my locker. And of course, Milliana is there smiling, I give her a hug and her butt a slap before putting in my combination like magic.
"Hey Levs." She yawns, I guess she was tired from last night too. "Ready for another week in this hell of a school?" I shrug.
"Maybe. Hopefully I can have minimal Lucy contact. Also pass the test we have tomorrow." She groans at that and starts scrolling through something on her phone.
"Levy isn't talking to me." Jet tells her as I roll my eyes. "She's being childish." He says, more directed at me.
"Okay." I didn't really want to talk to him. I needed to cool down. "So how was your detention?" I had forgot to ask her last night, because she had just got back from her dad's house and I didn't want to ruin her mood.
"It… it was not that bad actually." I wiggle my brows at her as she smacks my arm. "No, me and Gray didn't make out."
"I didn't say that. Because ew, who would make out with Gray?" I ask honestly. Well, maybe Juvia. And possibly my best friend Milliana.
"He just kept trying to talk to me. It was so annoying, and I just agreed to go to the movies with him."
"You have a date with Gray." I utter ouy teasingly.
"Shut up it's not a date!" she defends herself.
"Next is the wedding, then the lustful honeymoon, then the babies, and then the tragic divorce because you decide you're in love with his brother, Lyon istead." I sat dramatically. She chuckles at that.
"You read too many books. And Lyon? No way. He's not my type." Milliana had a type? That's new. Jet is akwardly standing behind us because I'm not talking to him and Milli is busy talking to me.
"What's wrong with Lyon? He's sorta cute." Scoffing, she looks at her nails.
"He's too damn serious sometimes. I can't date someone serious. I'm not serious." Of course you aren't, darling. With that, I shut my locker and we decide to go look for Yuki, who is probably reading the bulletin board, like she does every Monday morning.
"Okay I'll catch you guys later. I'll also give you your lunch, Levs!" I shrug.
"You don't have to, Jet. Yuki, Milli and I are going to this new café place down the street." I don't need his lunch. Raising an eyebrow at my behavior, Milliana grins.
"What did he do?" so I tell her everything, and she looks shocked because she also remembers Jet saying what he did. "Wow, that's an ass thing to do. What do you think it is?" she asks as I shrug once again. I... I was hoping it wasn't what I thought.
That Jet was cheating on me. I mean I could picture that because he's pretty hot and I'm not really "doing anything" for or with him. I mean we have nice make-out sessions that usually end with my straddling him and hickeys that last for days, but nothing "real". So he would of course get it from another girl. Like Cana. Or Ikaruga, another school whore. It's funny because right as I say that she walks past with her white mini-skirt and blue bustier on, pink hair flowing. Girls at our school really break dresscode, if you haven't noticed: crop tops, mini-skirts, short-shorts. You name it, we got it here at East Fiore High. Maybe except butt naked ness and underwear and stuff, hell one time to promote her pool party, Lucy, Juvia and Cana all wore matching polka dot bathing suits (Lucy's pink, Juvia's purple, and Cana's blue) and unzipped shorts.
That bitch threw a beachball at me. Not even kidding.
Anyway, I push those thoughts away from my mind since I'm trying to cool down and walk up behind Yuki as Milliana bites her shoulder. As best friends we all have extreme physical contact (as if that wasn't obvious). She was scanning the bulletin board, but there wasn't anything new or interesting posted on it.
Except well, the flyer for Juvia's yacht party that none of us would be invited to this weekened. I'm pretty sure they had a yacht party last weekend too, but I wouldn't know because I wasn't there. They had the nerve to post the flyer on the board like it was "come on come all" but in small letters in Lucy's girly handwriting it said Invite only. No lame-os or weirdos; If you show up without an invitation we will turn you away. What a snake.
"Anything interesting?" I ask her, even though there really wasn't.
"They put up a post about the winter dance." She says in an enthusiastic voice. Oh yeah. That. Something I wouldn't be going to. The winter dance was a Senior Only dance, and last year everyone got into it. Pictures in the yearbook showed students in beautiful white or silver dresses and tuxes, the gym was decorated in paper mache snow-flakes and white fuzzy table clothes, and there was spiked punch (the teachers had no idea, except Mr. Syff of course). There was white cotton candy, and a Winter King and Queen. Last year I'm pretty sure Mira and Laxus won it, and it was weird that Laxus Dreyar even showed up, because last time checked he hated stuff like that. I would know because I used to get tutored by him after school every Thursday. He said, I quote, "The winter dance is some dumb girl made bullshit. Don't waste your time."
And since Laxus had to repeat senior year 3 times, he would know.
Anyway, I already knew where my blue-haired friend was going with this.
"No." is all I say. She gives me a confused look.
"OH COME ON PLEASE LEVY JUST ONE MORE TIME!" I shake my head so fast I'm afraid my neck will snap.
"No no no no. I am not letting that beast into my home again." I say smartly as Milli laughs. Yuki gives me her famous puppy dog eyes. No.
No.
"Oh come on Levy. Don't you want Yukino to be able to tell her kids about how she went to the Winter dance with 'daddy' and got knocked up?" I snort at that and the brunette gets her arm pinched by the blunette.
"Actually, yeah. I would love seeing you and Sting on Maury. So fine. This last time I'll 'tutor' you guys. But not today, I have to work. Laki can't make it in for her shift."
Yukino squeals really loud and skips off, probably dreaming about her future life.
"Ew." Milliana says.
"Right?" I reply.
