Tony wasn't the sort of guy to get nervous. Granted the events of New York had made him a little more jittery than usual but it wasn't like him to feel so agitated. Pym had been reading the blueprints, he'd offered suggestions and as if by some miracle he was agreeing to everything. All Tony had to do was get him to sign the contract. The contract he'd written up months ago, back when he first began working on the project. Pym didn't need to know that he'd been using Pym Technology long before today. Nobody needed to know that, all Tony needed was the signature and he'd have total control.

He'd been surprised that Banner had managed to get Pym to comply. And now he was eating massive slices of humble pie in order to keep Pym happy. There were times when he'd suggest something that Tony had already implemented or ruled out so he'd smiled and nodded and licked Pym's boots. Pym had made himself more than comfortable in Tony's lab which bothered Tony. He didn't want to risk Pym stumbling across the finished project before he got him to sign the papers, that would only complicate things.

It was late afternoon and Tony was dead on his feet. Banner had fallen asleep at one of the desks but Pym seemed to have an endless supply of energy and enthusiasm. Tony watched him as he breezed around the lab making amendments to the blueprints. He felt tired just looking at him and before long his eyes were drooping closed.

An almighty crash woke Tony from his nap.

"What the hell was that?" Pym asked, clearly oblivious that the two men had been sleeping. Suddenly Tony heard a woman's scream. Pepper.

"Move out come on!" he snapped at Banner and Pym who followed him rather cautiously as he charged out of the lab to find Pepper. Tony grabbed a random laser gun that had been lying around in the lab, his only hope was that it actually worked. He rounded the corner into the main room.

"What the?!"

Standing in the middle of the room surrounded by broken glass was the huge Asgardian God, Thor. One of the window panels had completely shattered and Pepper was helping a younger, petite woman to her feet.

"Salutations Stark!" Thor bellowed when he spotted Tony. He gave Tony a bone shattering hug. "Banner! What a treat, I trust you are well?"

"I'm holding up." Banner replied wincing at Thor's handshake. Thor smiled at Pym.

"I am afraid I do not know your face sir."

"Hank Pym." Pym replied giving Thor a surveying look.

"A pleasure to meet you Hank Pym." Thor turned to Tony and gestured at the broken window "My apologies for the damage, I mistook your window for an open doorway. Jane told me to slow down my landing but alas I am too stubborn still." His laugh boomed loudly around the room.

"I'm guessing you're Jane?" Tony said to the woman who was extracting pieces of glass from her hair.

"Sure," she said a little awkwardly "nice to meet you Mr Stark."

"Tony, please!" she gave him an awkward but very pretty smile. Nice catch Thor, Tony thought as he shook her hand. "This is Pepper, she might be able to find you something to change into." Her white blouse had been ripped all over thanks to Thor's plummeting through the window.

"Oh!" Jane turned a bright shade of red "I had no idea!" Pepper took her arm and lead her off to her wardrobe.

"What brings you here big boy?" he asked Thor once the girls were out of the way.

"A fleeting visit only I'm afraid. I have urgent business in Moscow to attend but I need a safe place for Jane whilst I am absent. I was hoping you would find a place for her here?"

"Sure," Tony said, not that he was happy at being treated like a hotel. Sure Stark Towers was now Avengers Tower but the last time he checked Jane Foster was a scientist and not an Avenger.

"What business do you have in Moscow?" Pym asked Thor. Pym didn't seem surprised by Thor's appearance in the slightest, Tony figured he'd read up on the battle of New York enough to recognise the God.

"A dear friend of mine, Selvig is out there amidst the chaos caused by HYDRA, I must find him and return him to Jane safely."

"Is it that bad out there?" Tony hadn't heard of any major issues out in Russia. Then again, he couldn't remember the last time he paid attention to the news. He'd been spending the last few months working on…well things.

"It's bad enough for this guy to rescuing scientists." Pym said to Tony in a condescending tone that Tony didn't appreciate. "It's a shame you couldn't do anything to stop HYDRA." He added dryly.

"HYDRA weren't my problem," Tony replied coolly "they were SHEILD's."

"Exactly." Pym said in mock politeness "I wouldn't trust anyone associated with that organisation now though, dreadful isn't it? The people you trusted now are the people you fear."

"Well they're not all bad." Bruce said in an attempt to keep things peaceful "Steve Rogers for a start is proof of that."

"You think I trust a guy just because he walks around painted like our flag?" Pym asked Banner "I'm not so stupid, I don't trust anyone. Not you, not the Viking here, not even you Tony." Pym gave him a knowing look. Tony kept as neutral an expression as possible. What was that supposed to mean? Had Pym caught sight of something he shouldn't have in the lab? Was he on to him somehow? No. Surely not. Pym was a bitter fool and was just trying to spook Tony. He may be working with Tony now but that didn't mean he liked him any more than he had when Banner first recruited him.

Suddenly the elevator doors pinged open and Maria Hill entered with a random dude that Tony didn't recognise. Noticeably Rogers and Romanov were missing.

"Where are they?" Tony asked irritably, Pym had darkened his mood considerably. "They're the ones wanting to crash here and they don't show up? And who the hell is this?!"

"I'm Sam Wilson." The guy replied.

"I got nothing." Tony said, as far as he was concerned this was a random person off the street.

"They got distracted." Hill replied in her usual cool tone. "And Sam's selling himself short. He's the Falcon I told you about."

"Falcon?" Tony didn't remember her telling him about any Falcon.

"I gave you his file!"

"Oh come on I don't read those things." Hill sighed and gave him a disgusted look, rather richly of her Tony figured since he was technically her boss.

"Well he needs new wings."

"And what am I?" Tony asked arms out "the hardware store?"

"I…I have the paperwork." Sam said awkwardly.

"Well then I suggest you get in line and make an appointment like every other person who needs my help, bird boy!" Tony snapped, losing his cool. "And now that you're back Hill, you can sort out Thor's damage." He kicked angrily at some of the broken glass.

"Tony!" Pepper's voice rang out like an angry school teacher. He cursed inwardly. She'd caught him having a tantrum. That would mean the cold shoulder for the night. "What is the matter with you?"

"Nothing!" he lied "Nothing!"

"Oh so this is how you treat people normally?" she asked him sarcastically.

"No, I just…I just…I'm supposed to be getting out of this whole saving the world malarkey and I can't seem to get away from any of it!"

"Nobody's asking you to save the world Tony." Pepper said her voice laced with disappointment.

No, Tony thought, but one day they will.
