"So...what's the plan?" Booster leant against the prison gate, cleaning his teeth with a toothpick. Skeets hovered by his side.
"We hit him with a two-pronged attack. If the first ploy fails, he'll never see the second one coming."
Booster rolled his eyes. People were a lot less stubborn in the future. Shorter attention spans didn't allow for long-term grudges. He had to wonder how much longer this would go on. How many more years would they try and fail to make the prank stick?
"You know," he began half-heartedly. "Maybe it's time we let it go. Tackle a second-stringer. Or Wonder Woman. She looks like she knows how to take a joke."
"Wonder Woman, alias Diana Prince, is a formidable opponent with-"
"Yeah, yeah, Skeets. But...she's a woman. In the future, most of the world leaders are women and trust me, they're not that smart. Couldn't see my potential if I bit them on the keister."
"The target is Flash."
Guy's bowl haircut seemed to have grown to overshadow his face, and his eyes leered out with a bright white heat, like the eyes of Batman's cowl. Booster would have rathered argue with Darkseid at that moment.
"Okay, fine. Flash it is. What do we do?"
"First, we need to get into his room."
"Again? Really?" Booster whined. "We spend more time in there than his girlfriends...if he had any."
Guy smiled, and Booster didn't like the sight of it at all.
"You just gave me an idea. Skeets, can you sneak into Flash's room and nab his ring?"
"I feel compelled to caution you-"
"Yes or no, Skeets? Time's a-wasting."
"Affirmative."
Guy nodded his satisfaction, and turned back around, heading back inside Belle Reve. He had a look of steely determination, and Booster almost didn't want to interrupt, but the curiosity was too much.
"Um, Guy? Where you going, pal? Brother Eye is...thataway." He pointed straight up.
"I'm going back in. I need a favour."
